Everything was great; it's a huge hotel and isn't too busy in winter so they gave me an early check in when I arrived. The rooms have gorgeous panoramic windows, warm wood furnishings, cream carpets -- a very modern, Scandinavian feel. You can use your bathrobe and slippers to go to the spa -- I only tried the outdoor thermal pools (you can use them for 3 hrs per night of stay, which is totally enough), but there's no limit on using the indoor pool (note that this one opens at 13 pm on workdays, and 10 am on the weekends). The pool area is spotless and is continually cleaned; it's nextdoor to a restaurant where you can get snacks. Breakfast was great. The hotel is right downtown, within easy walking distance from both the bus/train station (15 min) and the rest of town (takes about 20 min to walk to the other edge of town).Guest review byNatasaUnited States

The town is beautiful. There are ONLY TWO PUBLIC SPAS!
The town is beautiful. There are ONLY TWO PUBLIC SPAS! Thermal Hotel (wish I highly recommend) and Elizabeth Spa. I spent two days trying to find the "Natural Hot Springs" to soak in. Finally, a man at a bar told me there are really only the two. Information Center - there are signs all over the town directing you to the Information Center. Finding it is another thing. There is ONLY ONE, just past Hotel PUPP. This is the ONLY PLACE YOU CAN BUY A REGION CARD! The staff at the information center were very nice and polite. Here's the BUT, they answered every question you asked. BUT, if you didn't know the right question to ask, the information was not offered. This led to MANY trips back to the information center. Region Card - not sure it's really worth it. First, there is not one place to sign up for any attractions (i.e. the underground, walking tours etc.). You have to call a number, which you need to ask for the brochure (see line above) that has the numbers. There is a two-day advance requirement to sign up for anything. For a short trip it just is to hard to do. If I come back, armed with this information, it will make the trip more enjoyable.Guest review byDavidUnited States - 10.0

The Singing Fountain is just magical--especially at night! Try to go when it's open. The town center is quiet, peaceful, and safe. It's a very walkable place in general. Drinking water from all its springs was fascinating. The food options were quite good--no chains but a lot of "mom and pop" places with no shortage of cuisine types. The locals don't speak the best English, but that's to be expected in a small town. Lovely small town with a beautiful castle/ chateau where you can also see the relics of St Maur and you can have a lovely lunch or a coffee and cake in a wonderful cafe there. Great choice of soups! Such a small beautiful city that makes you feel like in a movie. The castle is amazing, the nature around keeps you fresh. Definitely we will come back and it is a super romantic place to visit with your partner. The city is quite small, so you can walk around easily. I expected it to be my dream place for enjoying a spa experience, and at the end there was nothing available of that sort, maybe only in the very expensive hotels. Mine was a decent hotel, but did not have pool, and there were two public places that were not appealing at all. The town was nice, but most places close very early. I like Mariansky Lazne more than Karlovy Vary. It is small beautiful town, so peaceful and green. Everything is cheaper than in KV. Good restaurants, cafes, fine boutiques. Many trails for people who love walking. I lived in Hotel Continental - lovely place with spacious room, pool, sauna, wellness centre, excellent breakfasts and dining. A beautiful little town that isn't swamped with tourists. Compact and easily walkable, with a range of sights including several museums and the impressive castle.
