I ADORE the room I was in! Perfect tower bathroom and a flashy tub right in the bedroom. I was a bit late for I charged my car but the lovely and welcoming lady at the reception came back in and showed to me what is the loveliest and most romantic room in Ahrweiler. Thank you!     We walked the route - Rotweinwanderweg -it was spectacular and we had lovely lunch at Marienthal. Make sure where to catch the bus back. There is no indications in Dernau and the train does not operate --railway is under construction. Bad Neueahr is easy to walk around.

    Adenau is THE place for your typical quaint little village but its main attraction is the Nurburg ring. If you are a car enthusiast then this is the place but if you are in to cars then you would already know this.

    We stayed in the village of Reetz which is part of Blankenheim.. Near the village is a lake called Freilinger See,, where people can swim or sunbathe. Blankenheim is situated in a beautiful area, called Eifel.

    Sinzig is a village with plenty of little restaurants but Hotel Tappes lies in the neighbouring village and it is a 1.5km walk into Sinzig (and the nearest open restaurant). I think it would make an ideal base for hikers and bikers.

    A great place for people who enjoy nature, relaxation, and outdoor activities! If you're planning on staying in an apartment in Wimbach, I would highly recommend traveling by car. Not only is public transportation in the area almost non-existent, but the city center and race track are also very hard to reach on foot. The steep terrain will definitely tire you out quickly. Unfortunately, I had to learn that the hard way.

    Cute old town centre that gets plenty of visitors on the weekends but not too crowded. There's a variety of nice restaurants in the area and places to try the local wines. We went here specifically to hike and you can walk straight to a number of scenic hiking routes on either side of the valley, no need to take a bus or drive anywhere, which was a huge plus.

    spacey, quiet, with all amenities in the kitchen, but essentially no food except what previous guests left. But shopping (REWE) is very close and open until 9pm, so we could stock the fridge, no problems. Only one shower to share, two toilets. Owner is working on adding shower(s).

    It is a very special and picturesque place surround by a wall from ancient times . The surroundings are excite with the vineyard descending in the hills. Old history from Roman times and more modern times worth visiting. May good walks. A special area of gourmet restaurant with a great variety of excellent wine.
