Very polite,helpful and welcoming staff. It’s just a pity that reception opens at 13:30. I also wished that there would be water dispenser for guests to be able to fill up water bottles. Otherwise all was brilliant.

Stunning location, clean room, staff all pleasant, terrace for evening meals and breakfast offered fantastic view of the castle and surrounding hill sides. Breakfast selection very good with plentiful choices . Evening menu very good value although there wasn't an English version available so had to rely on staff translation.

Huge beds! we were travelling with a baby and didn’t requested baby bed because we’re cosleeping but they prepared extra bed which was great to put next to a normal bed just for extra space for safety. I loved it! our bed turned out enormously big!

    The room was nice and all in all the atmosphere in the hotel was pleasant yet quirky. It had the feeling of staying at the Overlook Hotel from Stephen King's book The Shining. The staff was a bit overwhelmed by work and not necessarily up to their tasks and the hotel manager had to micromanage the tiniest things like fixing the Cappuccino machine. We only stayed a night so I can't comment much on the facilities. The breakfast was rather adequate and the staff members all were really nice.

    Our room was spacious and came with a fan which was most welcome has the nights were hot and humid. The breakfast room was also spacious and offered a wide selection of breakfast fare. The restaurant of an evening served a good selection of Caribean themed meals and was a popular venue. The location was ideal being a short walk to the centre and historical houses. It was also on the bus route for Wartburg Schloss. The staff were friendly and helpful.

    Very nice staff. Family suite was bautiful, large and comfortable. German breakfast was very good, though not beyond what you'd expect. On monday, when the restaurant is closed, we were offered pizza, heated pre made pizza like you buy in the supermarket.

    If you love winter sports, in particular biathlon then...

    If you love winter sports, in particular biathlon then Oberhof is the place for you. Also it's ideal for hiking and cycling especially along the Rennsteig. Ideally is best to have a car. The location of the Obere Schweizerhütte was right next to the bobsleigh, luge and skeleton runs. The cable car to the top was amazing and once at the top you're at the biathlon stadium. You xan also have a shooting experience.

    Wartburg Castle is a gem definitely worth a stop for the history and beauty represented there. The steep hike up to the top is through pretty woods with lovely views, and the cafe at the top has a good selection of food, beers and coffee! We took the guided tour which I would recommend.

    A most interesting town with the houses of both Martin Luther & Bach to explore. The church was also very interesting and the lady in the church was most helpful with advice about the surrounding area. Eisenach is a good centre from which to explore either by train or car.
