The location was in an area of Rostock on the waterfront but tucked away so that you had beautiful views a few metres from the hotel of the warnow end of the harbour. You could watch the wildlife and people canoeing and paddle boarding. Parking was free and easy and a pathway meant you could walk or cycle into town within 10 minutes. The room was excellent, spacious with a balcony which we enjoyed to sit out on. A good bathroom and shower cubicle. A good choice of breakfast options and the staff were so helpful and friendly.

Family room is exceeded our expectations - were more than enough space for parents and two kids. Very good madrasses and pillows, as well great facilities. Breakfast was fantastic. Parking is avaliable in a basement of tge hotel building. Highly recommended for a family stay.

Staff really friendly and accomodating. Went the extra mile. Allowed us to use the washing machine & dryer ourselves for no extra cost. Reception staff very helpful and pleasant. The apartment itself was spacious and comfortable with a luxury hotel feel.

Very friendly staff who really cared for you, and even if a few didn't speak english that much, Google Translate did solve that. Nice and plentiful breakfast where you had a fixed table in the restaurant. (And unfortunately a fixed time when to eat.) A great plus was also the garage underneath the building (with your own designated place) with direct access to the apartments. (with your own designated place.) The apartment itself was well equipped with a balcony facing the backside, i.e. away from the busy street. So in all, a pleasant stay.

    Strandresort Markgrafenheide is a perfect place for families with kids or without, everything is designed to fit these purposes, The apartment was beautiful, with balcony facing to the sea, we had a huge livingroom. The playground was great, placed next to the animals, the breakfast was delicious every day there was something new among the offers which is unusual. The beach is just nearby equipped with a high quality restaurant. Definitely, we will come back!

    The room was extremely clean. We were on the first floor where the wellness area is located. It was so nice to get into to pool or sauna quickly. The hotel is less than 10 minutes walking distance from the beach. The staff is extremely kind and welcoming. The breakfast was so good too, a lot of fish options as well. Overall experience was fantastic for a short stay.

    The property was in a vey quite location not far from the sea. It was a very short walk to go to a seaside town. There were local shops for food beer and fresh bread. The facilities were a great sauna swimming pool. The restaurant was very good food service was brilliant.

    Lovely, peaceful location. Very good for families, with games on site, lots of space to be outside and a short walk to the beach. Supermarket very close by was great. The onsite Kliff17 restaurant was lovely and the staff so friendly and helpful and also at reception.

    We didn't know much about the East/West German divide so we...

    We didn't know much about the East/West German divide so we were nervous about visiting Rostock. However, it was a pleasant, clean, safe town. We walked everywhere. There were nice parks, a wonderful museum and the St Mary's cathedral (first mentioned in 1232) had an astronomical clock that was a feat of engineering and upon striking 12 noon a procession of small wooden figures rotated around the top. We were impressed with the history of the place. The museum had a display about WWII and it was only in German, however we were able to scan large paragraphs of the display to the phone and download a German translation pack to be able to read it. We ate in several little establishments. We always got correct change back from our bills, unlike other places in Europe where you have to be really cautious with your money. I even tried the local Rostock beer!

    Great trip to Warnemunde.

    Great trip to Warnemunde. We enjoyed cycling, swimming, beach and great local food. Perfect family trip from our base at Aja hotel. Karl’s Edbeerhof theme park was a fun day trip for the kids. Nice strawberries, funfair and shopping.

    I mean unfortunately like many places in Germany it is full of senior people who want to have it quiet. Although this is ok, there are little options for the young travellers who want to mingle. A bar, a cafe a little bit of music would not hurt anyone but I also have the feeling this is not the place for it. 2-3 days of peace and quiet fulness are therefore totally ok in the are. Awesome beautiful beaches, nice sunsets, very flat for walks.

    Beach very close to our apartment, supermarket around the corner, a bakery and cycling store where you can rent bikes and other carriage types. Very child friendly with a playground. Bad Doberan, Kühlungsborn and Nienhagen are worth for a visit, you can reach them in short time. We just loved our stay!

    If you want to be isolated from the world, this place is super.But don’t forget to bring your own food and drinks with you as they don’t have a bar and their restaurant was fully booked for wedding s not nights we stayed . The nearest restaurant is about 8 KM from the location .

    Heiligendamm is tiny, just a couple of hotels, a clinic and associated beach holiday retail. No supermarkets etc. But it does have good public transport with the steam narrow gauge railway and good bus service until late at night (slightly earlier Sunday night). I used here as a convenient stopping point to explore this bit of the coast. Over the many years I have visited here, public access to much of the resort has become increasingly restricted, from the grounds of the very expensive hotel to the area around the refurbished villas.

    Rostock is a charming Hanseatic city and this is clearly seen in the city centre and Old Town. There are plenty of redbrick gothic marvels including churches, towers and city gates. A short local train trip away is the completely different seaside resort of Warnemünde with its extensive sandy beach and typical German smart coastal architecture. A bonus of a December visit is the wonderful Christmas market where traditional mulled wine, beer, spirits, sweet and savoury food, and handicraft products are sold from brightly lit and decorated huts.

    At least book a 2 night stay.

    At least book a 2 night stay. I loved eating fish fresh from from the boats. The day it rained we caught a train to Rostock and went shopping in the morning and came back and the weather was good for the beach.

    Graal-Müritz is an awesome place for family trips. It's a quaint town roughly 30 kms from Rostock and 135 kms from Rügen/Sassnitz. One can enjoy the beautiful beaches or hike in the woods nearby. Lots of families prefer cycling as the town is bike friendly.

    Beautiful place right in the center of town.

    Beautiful place right in the center of town. Lots of facilities and restaurants around. The rooms are clean, spacious and very comfortable. The spa on the top was really nice (it's nudist so think about it before you take your kids there). The staff is friendly and kind.
