Typical northern city. No different from Bruges. Expensive parking, no way to pay for it unless you download a local app (which asks you to disclose half your life while all you want is 15min of parking space)... Prohibited parking spots are unclear to the non danish. Better be careful where you leave your car. People are kind of cold, the usual, same as Belgium, Luxembourg, Holland... Hotels are expensive, and not always up to standards. Waiters are easily annoyed by questions or if you take time to choose. Had a couple of warmer encounters outside town, and spotted a couple of streets in the city center (near Magasins du Nord) that seemed appealing, with designer shops and restaurants. Will give it another chance some day when I have more time to visit Tivoli and all, but first contact was meh. Had more fun outside of Copehagen... Great countryside.Guest review byCarloItaly - 10.0

The hotel is clean and very close to the train station so, it was very easy to get to central station which gives you access to all the trains that will get you to where you want to go. It dark in these time of the year, but it is a great and green place. Friendly people and possibly nice path for recreations. I were business there though. Very clean, newly renovated, quiet. The room well appointed. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast. The hotel is in a small shopping area with a supermarket,small restaurants and every convenience very close. It’s a bit out of the city centre, so maybe not ideal if you are sightseeing in Copenhagen, but it’s on a bus line. My only small gripe- the pillows were small and we could have used two each and the winter bedcovers were too warm for June. I just need at quiet place to rest, wasn't on sightseeing... I'm not specifically interested in Ballerup at this moment... And therefore it was a bit annoying that the house was so noisy - late at night as well as early morning... The staircase especially was making a lot of noise.. It made me feel nervous that somebody was coming down to me - a lot of times...( I was in basement! ) I couldn't open a window either, just the door if I wanted some fresh air, and that wasn't very nice either... The room (s) were too big and 'spread out' in different 'sections', and that wasn't cozy in my eyes...There wasn't a 'night-lamp' near the bed that worked, only a lot of spot lights in the ceiling... Not that cozy even if the volume could be turned down... The man of the house seemed very nice, I met him on the way to the house, - as I was asking for advice concerning some road-maintenance obstacles that were in my way to get to the house. So they are most likely were nice people ... But I guess a big part of my disapointment comes from the fact that this stay was more expensive than a night in Hotel Zleep - also in Ballerup, 3 weeks ago...There I had a quiet room, no sound from the building, view to a lake, nice bed, a window I could open, GREAT BREAKFAST INCLUDED, everything clean and everything easy and flexible in terms of checking in and out etc. Much easier and more comfortable for me... Copenhagen is an amazing city. The atmosphere, the weather, and the area were all beautiful. It was my first time visiting, and I enjoyed every part of it. I loved the shopping, the city tours, the coffee shops, the bakeries, and the restaurants—everything was excellent. The only thing I didn’t like was how expensive the city is. Location and the grounds is very nice. The breakfast is ok but served between 7-9am. Room was big but outdated. TV has few channel and no bluetooth. Two person bed was separate spring mattresses that kept drifting apart. Bathroom is not up to standards for this kind of location and price range. Its a conference hotel more than it should be.
