We are frequent travelers and I must say that Casa Doňano is one of the best we have experienced in Europe. The house has a mystical atmosphere, it is a wonderful and sensitive reconstruction of a rural historical building with the corresponding equipment. It filled us with positive energy there. The owners (a lady from Brazil and a gentleman from Holland) were very kind and helpful, and at the same time they were extremely pleasant communication partners for us. Even with the on-site restaurant closed for the winter, the owner provides delicious meals for dinner. I really appreciated it as I was traveling around the area during the day and it was great to have a good meal and a few drinks on my return.

We were on the Camino. The hotel has an albergue, also, and a big yard to relax. The washing machine and the dryer are a plus. The breakfast is good, the room was clean, spacious and it had everything we needed. This place is really nice. I would definitely recommend it!

The room was lovely and clean and we had a good breakfast with delicious homemade cake. The host was super friendly and welcoming and gave us all the info we needed about the surrounding area to make sure we had a wonderful stay. The hotel is near multiple beautiful beaches just a few minutes drive away and we swam in one where you could see the mountains from the sea!

    The hotel was right on the harbour so it was great to have...

    The hotel was right on the harbour so it was great to have look around the boats ect. A short walk uphill into the town and you find plenty of bars and good restaurants. If you dont fancy the walk into town there are 3 good fish restaurants on or around the harbour. If you have a push bike there's plenty to explore like the lighthouse ect.

    If I had of booked for a week i am sure I could have occupied my time. The town is ok but the beach and walks could be great especially the estuary and San Roque which I would have liked to see. Don’t miss the beaches or the estuary as they are really good

    Foz was picked as a base from which to visit Santiago de Compostela and other nearby places. The town itself is not pretty, but the beach is nice and there is a good clifftop walk. Foz has plenty of bars and restaurants and suoermarkets.

    I'm biased as I spent 4 years living here and was back to visit friends but although not the prettiest of Spanish towns, the food choices are amazing, the people are very friendly and the surrounding area is spectacular, so it's a great base.

    The highlight of the city is clearly the Playa de las Catedrales. We went by it on the way in but it was rainy and overcast so we only did a drive by. The next morning was much clearer. We also lucked out as being at low tide. We learned that one should DEFINITELY watch the tide schedules when visiting as you want to get down and don't want to be trapped. Definitely worth a look, but Ribadeo otherwise is only so so.

    Super views from sea facing bedroom and from the roof terrace where cocktails and snacks were served. Good location for walking to old town with lots of bars and restaurants. Very friendly, helpful reception staff, and the hotel was scrupulously clean at all times. We were slightly disappointed that the area around the hotel was a bit shabby on first impressions, but behind the facade were some real gems, and it was much better when the sun shine.

    This is authentic Spain and the Basque region, its very local , and good value with good quality . If you love fish you can go to the market and get fresh fish directly off the boat , its an amazing quality . The bars and restuarants will always serve tapsas as part of the cost of a drink . Go with the flow , many places close in the middle of the day but will open much later up to 8pm . If you want calm , authentic Spain, love beaches and seafood , this place is for you.

    We only had one night in Ribadeo, which by coincidence, was during a festival. The night life was brilliant, with live music staged in the town centre, and several ad hoc groups of musicians moving around the town, as well as a fair. It was a great night, and we loved the atmosphere and the friendliness of the locals.

    I was offered an upgrade with a view of the ocean and I'm so happy i took it. I was able to see the sunrise every morning. Amazing!! The lady at the desk was so very helpful and patient. The apartment was perfect with kitchen/stocked, and it had a safe in the room which was a concern. It was easy to get around, they had free parking just across the street. my favorite places we visited were, Lugo, FOZ, Ribadeo, Viviero. You need a car to get around. The apartment i had was very modern and they have cleaning service every day along with laundry room to do your laundry. I highly recommend this place.
