The hotel accommodated him at very short notice. My aunt and I ate in the restaurant on the Saturday evening and the meal was superb. It is the second time I have eaten in the resurant as visit the area due to family living close by. The restaurant is closed after breakfast on Sundays. We found the nearest place to eat in the evening then was in Saint Junien a 20 minutes drive drive away. Breakfast was simple but adequate. The host made time to chat with us in the morning, very welcoming, and we enjoyed sharing stories over coffee in the morning. This is an authentic property we enjoyed its unique qualities. Easy and cheap to park in the town centre. Our host gave advice. Porcelain museum definitely worth a visit. Also the station buildings. We enjoyed walking around the medieval streets. A small but charming town on the route between Limoges and Clermont Ferrand. Lots of old architecture and a decent range of small shops and restaurants. Small village / town, lovely church to visit, the pub, Le Pont de la Pierre, by the river is a must visit as such a lovely setting and well worth the walk. The Restaurant Le Palais nice setting but we got overcharged and will not be frequenting this place on our future visits. The restaurant Le Cheval Blanc offered a set menu and it was fastfood with à la carte prices. Le Central Bar was good for drinks. Gets busy with visitors, ex-pats and local residents. The hosts are interesting and wonderful people. The rooms are very comfortable. We really enjoyed the history of the place. It is a quiet village so plan on finding your dinner before you arrive. The breakfast was good including homemade yogurt and bread, excellent coffee and juice. Some of the other travelers were walking the Camino and other trails.
