We stayed in comfort apartment with 2 bedrooms and a living room + kitchen. It was incredibly spacious, giving us all plenty of room to relax without feeling cramped. The hotel's amenities, including a game room, swimming pool, and a beautifully maintained garden, were fabulous and provided endless entertainment for the kids. What stood out most was the friendliness and attentiveness of the owner and the staff - Frank and Matthew; they went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable and even shared some Tour de France goodies with our kids. Truly attentive attitude. Additionally, the hotel's proximity to the city center made it convenient for family outings, even though it's 10 min walk through the field. It gave a feeling of staying close to the city, but having a nice relaxed atmosphere in the countryside as well. This hotel truly understands the needs of their guests, including families with kids and makes every effort to provide a memorable stay. Our room overlooked the valley with spectacular views, the room was very large, very clean and had everything we needed. The restaurant at the hotel was really lovely food with a good selection and not too expensive. The breakfast buffet was phenomenal and well worth the money! It was quite literally the best breakfast we had in all of France! And the building had a small lift just enough to fit your suitcases - my husband appreciated not having to carry them up the stairs yet again…. The check in and out staff were really helpful and spoke fantastic English. For some reason the hotel is rated on the site as 3 star - not sure why. Great little quaint hotel, absolutely charming. Walk across the street, you have a little church worth seeing. You can see the castle from the little plaza next to the restaurant. Within walking distance to the castle. Everything there was enchanting. The hosts were perfectly welcoming, friendly, helpful. DO NOT MISS the breakfast. It is well worth it. Where we stayed was a restored castle. It was wonderful inside. The staff were very helpful. The part of town we stayed in was quaint and very walkable. I would have loved to stay longer. We ate at a small Crepery that was right around the corner. You have to be there early and make reservations. We did it online and almost didn't get in. We visited Gramat in the spring and the weather was dull. The town appeared run down in areas with not much going for it. There were some good restaurants. The animal park is worth a visit. The aqua park didn’t have clear information about opening times. Close enough for other attractions and towns to visit. Rocamadour is close by. Plage de Gluges 15/20 minutes. Beautiful room and terrace opening on to vineyard, with view across to Saint Cirq la Popie. Perfect 4 day stay spent relaxing by the pool, in the vineyard, or day tripping. Cahors is a nice little city.
Cahors is a nice little city. There isn't much spectacular to see or do, but it kept me busy for a day. The medieval bridge is nice, the cathedral was worth a visit, and it's nice to walk next to the river that encircles the city. Keep in mind, on Sundays, nearly everything is closed.
