- From $358.64 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very Good - What previous guests thought, 845 reviewsStaff was wonderful! Five stars and more! Took extra time to give us an historical tour, showing us Oliver Cromwell's alleged musket holes on the ancient front door and other oddities and delights. Drove our rental car to our room so we wouldn't have to search for it. Made us feel relaxed, welcome, and comfortable. Enjoyed the meals, the pool, and the lovely common areas. My 8 year old daughter and I loved playing chess and drinking tea and hot chocolate while eating dessert in the beautiful lounge, with Katherine Parr's portrait peering down at us. We traveled for a month in the UK and France, and this was our favorite hotel. So much to see and do: swimming, hiking, lounging. My daughter was obsessed with the full-size chess board outside, although we didn't have time to play that set. Compared to where we live in N CA, this place was also a remarkable value! We paid $350 which included the breakfast (there's a wonderful buffet in addition to the hot breakfast), and a 110 pound dinner allowance. You couldn't stay in a Courtyard for that where we live.Guest review byJasmineUnited States
- From $499.78 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very Good - What previous guests thought, 1,124 reviewsThe staff were helpful and friendly, the hotel room was cozy (as was the bed!), the common areas were inviting (some lounges had wood-burning fireplaces!), and the pool, hot tub and steam room were very relaxing. The breakfast included each morning was delicious, and the other meals I experienced in the dining room were wonderful! The cocktails were also amazing :)Guest review byMcKenzieCanada

We cooked in for most of our stay, but did have an afternoon tea on the Sunday-ab fab! 2 of my party utilised the treatment facilities and thoroughly enjoyed them-well all used the pool/sauna and steam room-brill!Guest review byEx Monkey HangerUnited Kingdom

Very attractive town, full of Regency terraces (Bath's younger brother). Some excellent restaurants and pubs. But double check before you visit Sudeley Castle - went all the way to Winchcombe on the bus only to find the Castle closed without any notice! But Winchcombe itself is a pretty village.Guest review byStephenUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Cirencester has a wealth of historic buildings and quirky narrow streets. A market and lots of independent shops and places to eat. The people were the friendliest we have met on our many visits to English towns. Great for a short stay.Guest review byAlisonUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Chipping Norton is a lovely town with great Pubs and cafe's and shops. It is in an ideal location to travel to many lovely towns and villages and has nice walks all around. We had Sunday Dinner at The Fox which was gorgeous. The yorkie was huge, 4 slices of meat and plenty of veg. We had a celiac and they were very knowledgeable and had a good choice of gluten free. The staff were brilliant. Also visited The chequers and the food, staff and choice again was brilliant.Guest review byamandaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Stow on the wold is the perfect base for exploring the rest of the Cotswolds whilst also having so much to offer itself. If food and drink is high on your list of priorities then you have chosen the best place to stay if choosing this charming town.Guest review byAlanUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Stroud is a town with plenty of character.
Stroud is a town with plenty of character. There are many independent shops and alternative lifestyles are welcome. There are many coffee shops and restaurants. We especially enjoyed The Curio restaurant, King St, Woodruffs coffee shop and Rajat Indian restaurant. We walked along the canal to Stroud Brewery which has a good bar and restaurant. That was an easy walk. We walked up Swifts Hill, Slad Valley and had a drink in the Woolpack, not so easy but very enjoyable. This is a must for fans of Laurie Lee's books.Guest review byTulloch - 10.0

We stayed in Broad Campden and could walk from our beautiful village to Chipping Campden a mile away across fine Cotswold countryside. Chipping is a lovely small town with typical traditional Cotswold architecture housing a full range of shops and cafes, a fine church and historic buildings.Guest review bySuzanneUnited Kingdom - 8.0
A fabulous old historic hotel centrally located in Broadway...
A fabulous old historic hotel centrally located in Broadway with very helpful and friendly staff. Our room was of good size and the bed very comfortable and large. The decor of the room needs an upgrade in our opinion, along with the bathroom modernising. The Dining Room, bar area and assorted snug reception rooms are quite amazing and in keeping with the history of this beautiful 600 year old coaching inn. One of our disappointments was the James Martin Grill restaurant, we were probably expecting much higher standards for our dinner which didn't appear. We enjoyed our first evening bar meal in the Hunter bar which is attached to the hotel, possibly more. The pool and spa were absolutely delightful although one point to note was to be asked for a discretionary 12.5% service charge on top of the treatment prices (the treatments themselves were standard given that their descriptions in the marketing online would make you think otherwise) which are higher than average and increase at the weekend. It was a very special treat for us and all in all a great stay.Guest review byHELENUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A nice central town that is a good place to stay for when you are out exploring the cotsworlds. There's plenty of places to eat, cafes, restaurants and pubs. There is free parking on the front of the shops, but you will have to get there early, to secure a spot. There is also a pay and display car park, and the train station car park is also available. There is a wide variety of shops such as charity shop, a pharmacy, a couple of supermarkets and other shops.Guest review byAnonymousUnited Kingdom
