- From US$249.06 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.7Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 182 reviewsThis excellent accommodation was the finishing highlight of our 2 week round trip in Cornwall. I am always very involved in the selection of accommodation and have travelled to many countries and experienced a wide variety of accommodation through many years of employment with major international airlines. When I came across the highcliffehouse on the internet, it was very clear that I had to go there. In the end, I planned my entire trip accordingly. The property alone is very majestic, towering over the city and the bay. On arrival, we were immediately greeted in a very friendly manner by Richard and invited to tea and biscuits in one of the very appealing rooms. A pleasant scent hovers in the house, which I also find important and inviting. The furniture is very tastefully chosen, the many paintings are also stunning. Our room left nothing to be desired. The bed was very comfortable, the bed linen fantastic, as was the towelling. Additional amenities were the charging possibilities for mobile devices, the very detailed information on restaurants, excursions, etc. which can be found on the tablet provided and also the possibility to prepare coffee or tea in the room. A lovely ending to our two evenings after a restaurant visit was a pleasant glass of wine either in the drawing room or the bar. I would also like to praise the first-class breakfast served to us by Robert. There is definitely something for any taste. The quality and presentation of the food is outstanding. The atmosphere is relaxed and you really do enjoy your stay. Richard and Robert are exceptionally accommodating hosts. We would like to take this opportunity to thank them once again, give them our wholehearted recommendation and wish them all the best until we meet again. xxxooo AndreaGuest review byAndreaGermany

Lynton and lynmouth are just beautiful places to visit. Plenty of great pubs and places to eat set in a very picturesque environment. The cliff railway was interesting to ride on and the Exmoor visitors centre was very informative. The valley of rocks was amazing to visit.Guest review byBob ThorntonUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Been going to Lynmouth for soooo many years (40 in total) it holds many special memories 🙏🏻 we love the quaintness of Lynmouth, and however busy it gets, it never feels too noisy- love the walks, the coffeeshackbythesea, the Esplanade fish & chip shop, the views, the cliff railway which takes you to Lynton’s shops and cafes. I will always need to visit to recharge my batteries a few times a year - a little piece of nostalgia 🙏🏻❤️Guest review byWooUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Porlock is a charming village, there are plenty of restaurants , the weir is well worth a visit great pub and old interesting buildings. Take a climb up Porlock Hill or for a more sedate route try the estate toll road, lovely views across the estuary. Visit nearby Lynmouth, Lynton and Minehead all within easy reach. Having visited many times Porlock still retains character and is typically English.Guest review byLynneUnited Kingdom - 10.0

An attractive base for exploring Exmoor. A small range of eating places but more than adequate. We ate mainly at the Luttrell Arms. Dunster Castle certainly worth a visit. We would stay in Dunster againGuest review byPaulGermany - 8.0

Small village but with 2 pubs with rooms, large common area, general shop and a tack store selling a surprising range of goods. There's also a garage, in case.the car needs it and a number of pleasant walks radiate from the village.Guest review byPhilUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Dulverton is a wonderful small town located in the middle of some beautiful countryside. There are all the shops you need with coffee shops, a fish and chip restaurant/takeaway and more. There are many car parks if you cannot find on street parking. As a solo traveller, I felt completely safe and there are lots of walks around the town to take a stroll with or without a dog. The river runs through Dulverton and there is a small area where you can sit and relax. It is very accessible to the moor and coast although if you are in a larger vehicle/camper-van, the roads are narrower. It can rain - and it did! I just enjoyed being back home and visiting friends and the old haunts. Just remember to pack proper footwear and a mac!Guest review byRuthUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Beautiful location in a river valley, accessible by narrow lane, but really tranquil, no passing traffic Lovely old inn with lots of character, but comfortable and spacious. Good for walkers and dog owners. We walked along the river to Withypool, 8 miles there and back. We ate at the hotel, breakfast, dinner and afternoon tea. There was also plenty of refreshments in the rooms and excellent WiFi connection. Hilary and her staff were very friendly and helpful.Guest review byJanetUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We booked the accommodation for ourselves and our daughter and son in law. As soon as we arrived the place and area looked wonderful. The accommodation is of a high standard with everything you need and it’s central to areas you would like to visit ie watersmeet, Lynmouth , Minehead. We were not that far away from Exmoor which was lovely to drive through and stop to take photos, seeing the wildlife was the added bonus. Where the accommodation was the Exmoor Inn offered food and drink, plus dogs are welcome. We were there the first night and had a lovely meal, the staff were very attentive and professional. We will definitely be backGuest review byJulietUnited Kingdom - 10.0
