Loved everything..from the friendly welcome to the lovely clean, comfortable room with a view. The breakfast and obliging staff was amazing as our family is full of picky eaters. The family cottage was also lovely and the children enjoyed having the freedom and the games supplied. And the Simba mattress is just what my husband would like for Christmas!

Lovely newly renovated property right in the centre of Golspie. Had to be up early in the morning but that wasn’t an issue for breakfast, coffee was banging, room was very comfy (bit too comfy as I didn’t want to get out of bed) Really nice family run hotel and I would definitely recommend.

This hotel was like no other it is a whole block with multiple buildings to stay in and multiple options for food. The Riverside restaurant for supper was amazing. Try the haggis, mussels and sticky toffee pudding. They also have a tap room. Being across the river you are able to take a beautiful walk along the river not far from the hotel. Walking distance to other restaurants and stores.

Visiting the battlefield was a very interesting, educational and memorable experience. Unfortunately weather was not the best to enjoy Loch Ness and other recreational areas. Getting around Inverness is easy. Several restaurants and shops around. Spanish Bar and restaurant La Tortilla Asesina, close to Blue Ness apartment, was a nice find.

Fort William was a characterful town which has been taken over by Non Scottish commercial traders. Few of the establishments visited, whether shops or eateries were manned by staff of Scottish descent. A greater scottish representation in the service industries would serve the tourist industry better. I accept that this may be a problem if Scots do not apply for positions within their communities.

I had imagined Aviemore to be an old town like Pitlochry and Dunkeld, but in fact all the buildings in the Main Street seem to be fairly new, apart from the railway station. It has lots of shops selling outdoor clothing, and is not very attractive architecturally.

Small compact town, but with a few options for food places, gift shops and a short walk to go in search of the loch ness monster. Or you can watch boats navigate the locks right in the middle of town. Town in the evening was nice and calm and first thing in the morning also. By midday it was pretty busy with day trippers so keep that in mind

Thurso still feels a generally friendly town.

Thurso still feels a generally friendly town. The Visitors Centre was excellent, very helpful friendly staff, with advice, directions and postcards. The beach is lovely, and the castle very picturesque, though I have no idea if you can go round it as it is on the opposite side of a long inlet and I wasn't about to walk all the way round there on the off-chance. Good amount of shops, and seemingly banks still in the town. YNot offers expensive but good quality food. If you want a walk, or have a car, the Ferry Inn in Scrabster is a great place to eat too.

The beach was lovely, love the beach. There was visitors that had their canoes, and underwater swimmers. Every day was different. I did not go up to the Hotel it's self as was my dogs first holiday and didn't want to leave her on her own not knowing how she would be in a strange place with other dogs. I went through to fort William where my dad was brought up it was lovely day out.
