FAQs about hotels in Kent
The Peaceful Garden of England
The so-called Garden of England, Kent is known for its lush greenery. Although within easy reach of London, it’s a world away from the hustle and bustle. So much so, that at many Kent hotels, spa facilities come as standard. One is, unsurprisingly, in the sophisticated spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells.
Nearby in Lamberhurst is medieval Scotney Castle, surrounded by a moat. Also moat-bound and with Kent accommodation available on Booking.com are Hever Castle and Leeds Castle (the latter in a village not to be confused with the city of Leeds).
The county town is Maidstone, but its most famous city is Canterbury, whose magnificent cathedral is the seat of the Church of England’s highest post. Rochester also has an impressive cathedral.
To the west is Margate, one of the top Kent seaside towns. Other resorts with long beaches are Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Deal. Around the coastline, Dover is known for its white cliffs, castle and the ferries crossing the English Channel to France. To the west is the Channel Tunnel by Folkestone, and Eurostar trains from St Pancras also stop at Ashford inland.
Other popular Kent attractions are the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch railway, Brands Hatch motor racing circuit, and the conical oast houses so typical of this part of England.

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 2,200 reviewsI've never been more happy to leave a review than for this place. A proper hotel the likes of which you seldom get in this day and age. Friendly, helpful staff, comfortable, sturdy beds, pleasant shower, hot chocolate and plenty of teabags, milk and sugar in the room, topped off with a hearty cooked to order breakfast. Put frankly, if this hotel is profitable, then the vast majority of others have zero excuse for the standards they've let slip for decades now. Being away from home on business is always miserable but this hotel took the edge of it just a little, so a big thanks from me.Guest review byStephenBulgaria

I was there for a conference, so I wasn't sight seeing. I've been before for a break and it was great. Lots to do and see. Last time I did a boat tour on the river. Some of the younger delegates at my conference went for a Karaoke night.Guest review bySusanUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We visited Capel le Ferne the Battle of Britain Memorial on the 104 bus route. We explored the harbour and walked right to the end where the small lighthouse bar is (not open as weather was a bit stormy). We visited St. Peter's Church where husband's parents were married. Went around the town exploring shops. We walked up the zig zag path on the L:eas and spent the day at the Annual Train Fair in the theatre overlooking the sea. Looking forward to returning when the Road of Remembrance is re-opened (disappointed it is still closed) and the cliff tram - hurry up and get it started again! Please don't build flats on the sea front - keep Folkestone sea front beautiful as it always has been. Congratulations on the restoration of the old platform on the harbour - it looks great and the small railway carriages serving food in summer. Looking forward to coming back for all the improvemnets!Guest review byRosemarieUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Townscape is quite tired and run down making it feel a bit unsafe around the edges. Sad because there are remnants of what would have been a lovely location. Francos in the shopping centre does a lovely breakfast! Italian restaurant Vesuvius in Lower Stone Street does lovely food too ..Guest review byTinaUnited Kingdom - 6.0
Pleasant.
Pleasant. Would not stay again until there is a refurb and walls are soundproof due to hearing moans and groans in the room next door at 12am. I was staying with my daughter and it was not a nice experience. Jacuzzi has been faulty for over a month. Breakfast was mediocre, not good quality ingredients.Guest review byNinja - 10.0
Good choice of shops and restaurants.
Good choice of shops and restaurants. Good transport links if no car, i.e. regular buses for local trips or nearby towns including Hastings and Tunbridge and Railway Station (Hastings an hour away by train). Worth a visit to Museum and Art Gallery. Lovely parks including Calverley Park - easily accessible from town (walking) for a coffee or ice cream! Enjoy!!Guest review byAudreyUnited Kingdom - 6.0
The room itself was clean and tidy.
The room itself was clean and tidy. Once in the room found the tv wouldn't work properly and bought the staff up and they couldn't get it to work either. The onsite restaurant was under renovation so no dinner or Breakfast though there was an eatery next door bar one and the food was lovely thereGuest review byJimmy CUnited Kingdom - 6.0
I have to say that Gravesend is not the prettiest of towns...
I have to say that Gravesend is not the prettiest of towns with many derelict buildings. The most impressive building in the town is the Sikh Temple. The town is very busy with traffic but is fairly easy to navigate around. We stayed in a very pleasant guest house outside of town which was perfect for going to Leo's Music Venue. This is the only reason we came to Gravesend. We ate at The Three Daws pub which has been pretty good on both times we visited. Traditional British Pub with a good British Menu. We had breakfast at The Hot Rod American Diner in Northfleet which again was very good!Guest review byFlotsam & JetsamUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The Dover Castle was lots of fun and was well organized for visitors of all ages. The war tunnels on the other hand were poorly organized and should be reorganized in order to help make them more interesting. The films on the walls explaining the historical events were difficult to understand due to the echo. The significance of the tunnels could be made more hands on for the younger generation to grasp. The Cliffs of Dover- easily a days experience and excellent hike and picnic opportunities along the way.Guest review byEllenIsrael - 10.0
We attended for an event.
We attended for an event. The accommodation was perfect as near to the beach as we could get. I enjoyed watching various vessels with binoculars from the top floor of our accommodation. There was plenty of places to eat and we loved eating in the wonderful outdoor places before the Harbour Arm. The scenery was beautiful and everyone was very accommodating. I would love to go again but stay longer. We didn't travel really once there as there was everything we wanted where we were within walking distance.Guest review bySusan - 8.0
