Beautiful location with plenty of places nearby to visit. Good choice/variety of places to eat in the town too. The Shore Restaurant is excellent. The food is well cooked and well presented and the surroundings are comfortable and relaxing.Guest review byLindaUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Thurso still feels a generally friendly town.
Thurso still feels a generally friendly town. The Visitors Centre was excellent, very helpful friendly staff, with advice, directions and postcards. The beach is lovely, and the castle very picturesque, though I have no idea if you can go round it as it is on the opposite side of a long inlet and I wasn't about to walk all the way round there on the off-chance. Good amount of shops, and seemingly banks still in the town. YNot offers expensive but good quality food. If you want a walk, or have a car, the Ferry Inn in Scrabster is a great place to eat too.Guest review byJonathanUnited Kingdom - 10
Dingwall was central to a lot we wished to visit.
Dingwall was central to a lot we wished to visit. Maybe it because we are happy to jump in a car and go see but we went as far Dunrobin castle in the north to Culloden. which we found easy. The town of Beauly is a must go and see. As was Dunrobin and Culloden. The Black Isle is a beautiful area too and we wished we had the time to see moreGuest review byMalissaNew Zealand - 6.0

Take a book and find a seat because buses are spot on time but not regular also wanted to walk to Castle Sinclair GirnigoeGuest review byKathleenUnited Kingdom - 10

Dornoch surprised us with its beauty - a thriving little town with lovely little shops and obviously proud of its local history. Well-kept and clean it was a pleasure to walk around. The museum is excellent - well laid out presentations on different aspects and characters of the town's past and some interesting videos. The beach is beautiful too and well worth a visit. Plenty of choice for where to eat. We had an excellent dinner at The Eagle and lunch next day at the lovely Sandstone Cafe. Highly recommend both.Guest review byMagi33United Kingdom - 10
Our accommodation and the restaurant that was very close...
Our accommodation and the restaurant that was very close made our time in Tain absolutely wonderful. We also enjoyed the distillery that is a very short drive up the road. We hope to come back someday soon and explore more of the area.Guest review byAnonymous - 10

We enjoyed visiting the water fall and walking in the woods and along the coastal path. We had tea and cake at the golf club. They were absolutely wonderful. They allow dogs in too. We highly recommend a visit, even if you don’t play golf. The Old Inn pub was very welcoming too. Especially if you have dogs. The mountain coffee shops and book shop was excellent too.Guest review byChristineUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Strathpeffer is a very attractive small Scottish village.
Strathpeffer is a very attractive small Scottish village. For the size of the village it has four perhaps five good places to eat. Numerous old trees included a couple of giant redwoods usually found in America. Very relaxing place to spend a few days. It's also is a good touring base allowing you to go North, South, East and West.Guest review byGraeme J.United Kingdom - 10

Very peaceful by the sea and well kept grounds, finding it was a mission but once there enjoyed the views and stay. If you are looking for a jacuzzi they haven't got one, but thoroughly enjoyed the trip nature walks and beaches nearby and got lucky whale/dolphin watching on a boat trip from ullapool. Had a nice family time.Guest review byPrashanthUnited Kingdom - 6.0

We only spent an hour there on a Sunday so it was difficult to judge as very few things were open. I would suggest that there are nicer towns nearby. However, there is a petrol station and an art gallery plus a little supermarket. The little Natal garden is sweet and it is possible to walk along a promenade near the water.Guest review byLucilleUnited Kingdom
