- From US$207.95 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,392 reviewsEverything was wonderful. The room had everything we needed, including an iron, ironing board and standing mirror. The breakfast was fantastic. I really like eggs benedict, but usually I hesitate to order it because I only eat well done eggs and other restaurants never seem to make them well done (even if I ask). However, the restaurant at Doxford Hall managed to make the perfect well done eggs benedict and I was so pleased! The spa facilities were great and never felt overcrowded.Guest review byIzanneSouth Africa
- From US$208.28 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 648 reviewsADORABLE! The pictures honestly don't do it justice. We stayed in the cottages and it was just wonderful. Sleepy and quiet, comfortable, great bathrooms and comfy bed. The food was great and the staff super friendly. Very walkable and quiet neighborhood. Pet friendly -- it was adorable to see all the dogs (made us miss ours back home). Great location if you want some seaside fun and visiting Bamburg Castle .Guest review byMichelleUnited States

What can I say … a one of a kind room . The Cookie Jar possesses that understated surety of class which is self contained but evident throughout the fabric of the building and the professionalism of the staff .Guest review bySeanIreland

We have visited Berwick many times as it is only 40 minutes by train from our home. There are lots of interesting shops - antique and good book shops as well as good coffee shops and restaurants. Lovely walk around the walls of the town. It is quite hilly in some parts. Quayside is pleasant on a warm day. Amran’s Indian Restaurant (excellent food and service)Guest review byMarionUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Great location for discovering the east coast, if you like fish and chips your in for a treat, there is also pub food but a little expensive, the 4 days we were there we visited Alnwick gardens, the holy islands and Bamburgh castle al with in easy reach,Guest review byNigelUnited Kingdom - 10

Great staff, excellent facilities and set in wonderful grounds, might be a bit isolated for some but for us it was an added bonus. Food was excellent, a buffet style breakfast but poached eggs cooked to order were brilliant and the one evening meal we ate in the restaurant did not disappoint. The spa area was immaculately clean and is well set out with a great steam room and more than adequate sauna, would have booked a treatment but our agenda did not allow. The main car park is some distance away and at the bottom of a steep hill, there is a drop off point and blue badge parking at the entrance but would advise booking this space if it is essential to you. All in all a great experience and likely to book again if we revisit the area.Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom - 10

Wonderful town; it even has a bank! Plus excellent shopping, all the outlets I like. In lovely setting with River Wansdyke through it. Lots of pretty old buildings with history attached. And near the coast, the Cheviots, and NT CragsideGuest review byLisaUnited Kingdom - 10

Great location for visiting many castles and beautiful gardens. Cragside is a must see location. Also Ford and Etal, especially the heavy horses. Bamburgh is very picturesque with a very peaceful church and amazing castle which is run very well and is great to visit, amazing views and fantastic sand dunes. Walled garden and cafe in the middle of Bamburgh is a lovely place to spend time with the Grace Darling museum next door there are also lovely small independent shops . All perfect for a needed break away. Thank you Bamburgh.Guest review byMartinUnited Kingdom - 10

Wooler is the perfect base to explore so much of wonderful Northumberland. The Cheviot hills are on your doorstep, literally walking distance and it is very easy to get to the coast, Lindesfarne and many other places just 30 minutes drive away. A small market town with a high street packed with great shops, pubs, takeaways and cafes; we recommend the Terrace cafe for excellent all day breakfasts and great coffee . The town is particularly good for those who like browsing antique and bric a brac shops, there was even an Auction when we were there.Guest review byHeskiaUnited Kingdom - 10

Blyth is a small town with a few recognisable shops, but its biggest draw is its excellent public transport connections. The bus station is right in the centre of the town and has buses to places like Newcastle, Cramlington, Ashington and Morpeth, giving you more options for shopping and tourism. The new train station (Bebside) will be open in the near future, but there's another already in use at Newsham (just a tad south of Blyth) connecting Ashington with Newcastle Central Station.Guest review byFionaUnited Kingdom
