- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 324 reviewsWhen we walked in the place was pristine and all modern conveniences to the point we were shocked. We loved the finer details including the cutlery being organised in such a beautiful way. Whoever cleans the cabins is beyond organised. It was absolutely silent in the whole area despite us being up there for a named storm. The staff helped us find a good place for walking boots and were very friendly. Though we didn't need to speak to them very often. We had a parcel sent up from Cornwall and somehow it got there in 24 hours, beyond amazing, but to top it off we went to the wrong reception after they called us to let us know and the grounds keeper shot off in his van to grab it ASAP which was beyond amazing. Honesty the only bad thing we have to say is that we had to come home.Guest review byJoanneUnited Kingdom

Stuart was wonderful and went out of his way to help us out and he gave us great dinner/live music/activity recommendations. The room was clean, well kept and comfortable. Honestly, could not have picked a better place!Guest review byNatalieUnited States

Great place to take a break when you are visiting the Highlands and Islands! Mallaig is a port town and a gateway to do many other places. The accommodation at An Bothan was excellent. Home from home with so many special touches from the owners to make the stay even more comfortable. We would highly recommend it if you are looking for a short or longer stay in Mallaig.Guest review byJayneUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The super helpful staff made us feel very welcome.
The super helpful staff made us feel very welcome. They had the knack of knowing when we needed help. we always felt the staff had time for us - as it should be, There is no lift and as 'older', to put it mildly, visitors, the climb to our room on the third floor was a bit like climbing Ben Nevis and the descent was even more difficult with our dodgy knees. We had chosen a sea view room and it turned out these are on the higher floors. The staff could not have been more helpful, short of carrying us up and down on their backs, and made sure we knew they would carry things up and down for us.Guest review byRobertaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The B and B is a short distance from the train station but CJ kindly picked us up. Dinner at the Arisaig pub was fabulous and a nice walk home after. We booked a taxi to Mallaig which was great and we caught the ferry to Knoydart and had lunch at the Old Forge…delicious, a lovely day out.Guest review byJanAustralia - 8.0

Very convenient for getting out to the highlands, a bit of a walk from Fort William town but walking is what you go there for, Ben Nevis is about a mile from Inverlochy and thats what counts,,, Try the Locky pub for good pub grub, massive platefuls and good wine, at reasonable prices,Guest review bySTEPHENUnited Kingdom - 6.0

The “Cabin food stop”for breakfast was exceptional .on the main drag. It’s a steel container off the roadside. Great value. Little night life but Fort William is only 3 miles away. You can see the Hogwarts express ( the Jacobite steam train ),up close in several spots ,especially the entrance bridge at loch linne holiday park ,where it passes under it. Corpach is really a stop off point for your trip.Guest review byGordonUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Overall the house was fine but pity about state of property next door - quite offputting when first arriving. House relatively clean but could have been better. Rooms were a good size. Two adults felt the mattresses should be replaced. It would not take much TLC to lift the property - e.g. some painting, fixing gutter, improve back garden, fix bathroom tap, better cutlery, more informed Visitor pack. Overall, think it is best suited for climbers, walkers.Guest review byMacGregor - 10.0

We did wish that we could have stayed longer in Banavie and we would certainly come back to explore more of the area especially if visiting Ben Nevis. Neptune's staircase was an unexpected pleasure and it was so picturesque. We viewed this from 'The Moorings hotel' where we also had a lovely meal. Will definitely return.Guest review byLouise - 10.0

Small town with some good restaurants but limited entertainment. Worth a couple of nights or longer if using it as a base. Try The Bakehouse and The Crab and Creel. Don't park for more than an hour outside the Co-OpGuest review byClareUnited Kingdom
