- From US$161.05 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,739 reviewsWe really enjoyed a most wonderful experience of staying at the Beach hotel. Excellently situated on the front with a view of the sea and next to the railway station. Light and spacious eating , drinking and sitting areas around the ground floor with the most fabulous breakfasts. Lovely rooms with comfortable beds, tea and coffee, great shower and bath attached. When I developed a medical problem they absolutely bent over backwards to assist me and for that I am totally indebted to the staff and especially Julie and Emma who were so incredibly kind and helpful. Highly recommended!Guest review byHenriettaNetherlands
- From US$125.01 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very good - What previous guests thought, 503 reviewsNice little room, lovely clean bathroom, enough towels to use even though we had to bring it to Nick's attention that house keeping didn't change the towels they just hung the dirty and wet towels back up. We had enough tea and coffee making facilities, we had a fan in the bedroom but felt that 2 might of been better, the hotel doesn't serve food but we knew that before booking but there's loads of cafes and pubs very local. All in all a very nice hotel and we would stop again.Guest review byPenny

Next time! ) and close to Cheddar, Wells, Glastonbury. Fabulous walks. Breakfast and dinner were both very well prepared and delicious. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. Bathroom was excellent, great water-pressure (it's a thing... ;) ) Wifi was perfect.Guest review byGerritNetherlands

The lodge was clean, warm and comfortable. Decorated and furnished to such a high standard, with everything you could possibly need and set in such a picturesque location. The hot tub was amazing!Guest review byMariaUnited Kingdom

We were attending a wedding in a local village, so on this occasion, didn't see much of Taunton. However, our previous experience of the town is that it is well worth a visit. Lively and interesting.Guest review byGrahamUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Wells is a lovely place to visit and steeped in history.
Wells is a lovely place to visit and steeped in history. The Cathedral is the focal point but I thought the admission fee was too high compared to other cathedrals. The city has ambassadors during the summer to assist tourists. There are lots of nice food outlets and shops. Wells is close to other attractions in Somerset; Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole, Glastonbury etc.Guest review byLindaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Bridgwater is a sad place.
Bridgwater is a sad place. The river trade, upon which its very existence depends, is gone and Bridgwater is not developing a replacement economy. The few shops still open are quiet, charity shops or selling vapes or other useless trash. A depressing place to visit. I stopped here to find Somerset wicker basket sellers. They've gone online!Guest review byIanUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Very beautiful town. Bit hilly but have your walking shoes ready as it's picture postcard. Lots of places to see and to go to. The George Inn had the best pub grub burgers. Never eaten ones like it before.Guest review byAnonymous - 6.0

Some of Yeovil is attractive (church area) but the rest is fairly run down. Very noisy nightclub near where we were on Saturday night until 4am…… Tambourino very nice Italian good. Very popular so Definately book. The Ilchester Arms in Ilchester very nice Sunday lunch. Yeovil is great base for visiting Fleet Air Arm and Haynes Motor museum or Sherborne.Guest review byLindaUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Minehead has a holiday feel, probably due to Butlins and people looking for something to do other than stay in there. The town is small, the bus service good. The Shops are all there, and banks too. Cafes abound. The steam train trip is expensive. The Dunster castle is better suited to a car visit because the walk up from the bus stop is hard. The nearby village of Watchet is ok for a visit, got a very reasonable cafe and a pleasant walk on the harbour. NOTE- if you go by coach to get to butlins, be prepared for a very cosy trip on the bus!! It was a shock to find that the Nat Exp coach took us to Taunton, then we had to get the bus 28 ( all included in the ticket) from there to butlins. Very crowded on change over day.Guest review byjeanUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Liked · EXCEPTIONALLY PEACEFUL AND CLEAN ACCOMMODATION. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. From the moment we we arrived at Maplestone we were made to feel really welcome. Alan showed us to our room and made us a pot of tea with cake and sat with us in the garden, great service. Alan is an excellent host with a friendly, professional manner with great local knowledge. The accommodation is very comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. Exceptional breakfast was plentiful and delicious with great choice. The property has a beautiful, quiet garden with tables and chairs to relax in. Would definitely stay again. Well done Alan and thank you for your making us feel so welcome.Guest review bySteveUnited Kingdom - 8.0

I feel that the high street has been combined with the Clarks village extremely well. I also thought the high street was very attractive with the flower arrangements and a good collection of shops. It seemed to be a thriving high street. We ate at the Bear Inn, which I would definitely recommend to other travellers, excellent food and extremely friendly staff.Guest review bykarenUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Delightfully old town especially Silver Street with its old shops, market square and fine church. Highlight was revisiting Sweet Surprise, which is still run as it did many years ago - charity tea room/sweet shop/bakery/ arts and crafts souvenirs.Guest review bygerryUnited Kingdom
