- From US$205.52 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 279 reviewsA beautiful house in quiet picturesque surroundings. Nigel greeted me on arrival and took my breakfast order while giving welcome advice about nearby restaurants for my evening meal. My room at the top of the house was warm, cosy, clean and spacious. Lovely aspect over looking the lawn and garden from my window. Snacks tea facilities and water present. Evidence of recycling in action. Loads of warm water for great shower. Information book about area, history and facilities was great reading. Breakfast excellent. Coffee perfect sitting in bay window with sun streaming in and a local pheasant outside the window. Lovely break.Guest review byLindaIreland

The place is really well maintained, has all the charms of yesteryears but the conveniences of today. I especially enjoyed the pool, wish I could've swam more! The food was also really lovely, haven't seen a delicious breakfast spread like that in ages.Guest review byMarie_JizelleUnited Kingdom

Remains of Norman castle on its motte with extensive views. Small museum shows short film about history of Lewes & there is an excellent model of it. Interesting town architecturally but rather a lot of traffic. Very hilly.Guest review byJerryUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A sweet little village shop full of fresh fruit and basics.
A sweet little village shop full of fresh fruit and basics. The village itself set in a beautiful part of the country, Eric Ravilious views everywhere. A range of pubs, some discreet luxury hotels now, some just relaxed medieval inns full of beams and cosy nooks. Independent, upmarket shops. Surrounded by walks and ancient churches, like St Michael's & All Angels at Berwick, which is unmatched for its calm simplicity and Bloomsbury artworkGuest review byGlynUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Besides having time with an old friend who lives in Steyning...
Besides having time with an old friend who lives in Steyning, I especially enjoyed walking up onto the Downs (via the Upper Horseshoe trail) and admiring the wonderful view of the Downs and the sea and the Weald of Sussex. I was impressed by the Community Orchard and the conservation scheme to re-establish species-rich chalk grassland. I made good use of the buses - would have been stranded without them! I enjoyed a brief visit to the parish church and was sorry not to have more time to have a good look round the museum. I enjoyed a good meal in an Italian restaurant near the Clock Tower.Guest review byGordonGermany - 8.0
Rottingdean is picturesque.
Rottingdean is picturesque. Little streets with old pubs, houses and a church. The windmill is gorgeous. Beaches have great walkways for kids, plus they are wheelchair accessible. Also loads of areas for walking up the hills with great views.Guest review byDasaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We stayed at The Roundabout Hotel as it was in an ideal location for all that we had planned on our pre-Christmas break. Pulborough suited our needs and enabled us to visit our friends who live nearby and also Arundel, the Petworth and Goodwood, and Chichester. The scenery and adventures to be had in this area are second to none. So many lovely pubs offer so much great food.Guest review byKeithUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Petworth is a delightful small market town with many antique and independent shops, pubs and cafes, a well-stocked Co-op, a post office and a spectacular National Trust property! A regular bus service runs to Chichester and Midhurst which takes in spectacular views of the National Park. Some lovely tourists spots within very easy driving distance - we visited Fishbourne Roman Palace, Bosham, Chichester city and marina and stunning Arundel Castle.Guest review byBrianUnited Kingdom
