Upon arrival, we were greeted by their taxi driver (40 euros fee) who took us to the hotel where we were upgraded to a better unit free of charge. The hotel was lovely, the staff was top notch, the food was great and most of all, the cocktails were amazing. We also loved the beach and what they had to offer there - crepes and ice cream, as well as the beach bar. Absolutely loved it, it was so pretty! Lots of shops and beautiful restaurants. We went on a great walking tour with Corfu Perspectives Guided Tours which I highly recommend. Paleokastritsa comprises a number of mid to small sized "beaches" though some are no more than a few rocks or pebbles. The water, as with the rest of the island, is crystal clear and deliciously warm, ideal for snorkeling or diving. Really gorgeous, quite substantial town with lots of very nice shops and restaurants. There is a beach just out of town which I didn’t visit so can’t comment on that. We went on the Odysseus boat trip which was excellent. This is a great place if you like boats. A hire car is needed if you want to get to the excellent beaches to the west and south. What a beautiful place. What makes it even better is the welcoming locals from wait staff to barristers, shop assistants, taxi drivers and everyone else. They truly are beautiful people. I enjoyed many outings in different parts of the island and on the water, it was just a pleasure to be there. I’m really glad I had this experienced. Small, place with plenty of restaurants and shops. Restaurants generally offer good value for money, with wide variety of dishes to satisfy everybody's taste. The beaches are nice and clean. If you like to be in the center of the action (restaurants, bars, night life), Tsilivi is a good spot. If you are searching for something more relaxed, i advise to search for other locations in the island. There is something for everyone, adults & children.
There is something for everyone, adults & children. I used to jump the local Green bus to Roda & Cassiopi, between 5/8 euros return. You can also use the blue bus into Corfu Town if you fancy large scale shopping, sitting at the port bistro and people watching, walking up to the castle..... being adventurous as you like.
