We took several FreeTours and all of them were very informative and interesting. The guides were well-versed in the area's history and able to communicate clearly, often with a good sense of humor. Getting around the town is pretty easy; there are restaurants that provide typical food all over, but it's better to request recommendations from the tour guides.Guest review byCarmen MitzyUnited States - 10.0
We enjoyed the Old Town.
We enjoyed the Old Town. The Dubrovnik pass for some of the museums and the local buses made things easier for us. Plenty of restaurants and bars in and around the Old Town. Walking the city wall was a challenge (but enjoyable and great views). But time your visit to the Old Town. It can be incredibly busy in the morning with coach tour groups, groups off the cruise ships plus fans of 'Game of Thrones'. We were warned about lots of steps in Dubrovnik. Be mindful that there are more steps than you can imagine!! Once our three day Dubrovnik pass had expired we caught a local bus for a day at the lovely harbour village of Cavtat. The next day a boat to the UNESCO protected island of Lokrum. Very calm after the crowds of the Old Town. An island of lush growth. The Botanical Gardens especially interesting.Guest review byGreen - 10.0
Zadar was recommended to us by friends.
Zadar was recommended to us by friends. It was a lovely old town with loads of bars and restaurants. Everyone was friendly, we didn't see anything that made us feel unsafe. The promenade walk around the small marina at the Land Gate, to the Sea Organ and onto the larger marina was lovely. We took a boat trip to 3 islands (4 hours) on a speedboat which was really enjoyable. It might be worth checking which days the cruise ships are in port as it made a massive difference to how busy the Old Town was. We hired a car and had trips out to Zaton, Nin and Pag. Pag was amazing, it was like going to the moon next to the sea. We were forecast to have a day of thundery showers (but it never happened!) so we booked a session at the Visnjik sports centre to play Padel and keep dry. An amazing facility for any sporty people, worth a visit.Guest review byAngelaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Everything about this place is breathtaking.
Everything about this place is breathtaking. Except for one thing: the sheer number of tourists. That's why it's worth sleeping there to enjoy the place late at night and especially in the morning. In the middle of the day, many, many tourists arrive, and it's really difficult then.Guest review byBartoszPoland - 10.0
This was the perfect Adriatic vacation.
This was the perfect Adriatic vacation. Best mix of historical sites, sea-side exursions, excellent restaurants, and time to relax as well. Be prepared to walk a lot and have proper footware for walking on the rocky beaches.Guest review byHNildiHungary - 10.0

Makarska is a perfect size for exploring on foot. It has a beautiful old town and is supplied with some great eating places. I would recommend Gastro Diva for a local eating experience. The beaches are good and there are some lovely walks around the peninsula.Guest review byJaneCroatia - 10.0

Sibenik old town was worth the trip.
Sibenik old town was worth the trip. The old medieval buildings and narrow streets which look like polished from centuries walking over it. Lots of cafes, bars and restaurants invite you to come in and have a rest.Guest review byKarinAustralia - 10.0

Just so easy to get around, Korcula is a jewel in the Croatian crown. With plenty to see in Korcula, three days also gave us time to visit local islands, beaches and wineries too. The climb to Korcula viewpoint (many steps of course) was well worth it and we got some amazing photos. So many great place to eat in the town, on the city edge above the water and in the alleyways. We loved it.Guest review byAlanAustralia - 10.0

We used Mlini for a night before flying out of Dubrovnik Airport. We started our Croatia holiday in Split, then did a Bike and Boat through the islands, ending up in Dubrovnik. Seeing how far Dubrovnik is from the airport, I sought closer accommodations, and it was a quick 10 minutes in the early morning when our driver picked us up at 5:40 a.m. After being there, for one day, I wish I could have spent several days there just relaxing!Guest review byBarbaraUnited States
