Beautiful location, great pools for kids and adults, beach just few minutes walk. Kids club is the one of the best we ever went. They have a huge playground and you can also leave your kid if he is 3 years old with entertainment staff. My little one is 2, but he had so much things to do in kids club. Cinema and kids disco one love! ♡ Great food options during the day , feels like at home. Not complicated, delicious and fresh food. Friendly staff. Dubrovnik is gorgeous. Not only the Old Town but also their small beaches all around. Great restaurants and little shops. Nice museums too. The Arboretum Trsteno was an interesting place, a respite from the heat. It was cool in the trees. Game of Thrones episodes are filmed at the fountain! But there is no cafe, only a vending machine. Zaton is 15min from crowded Dubrovnick, just a right amount of driving on a very nice coastal road to reach the city center. Lopud is a lovely island with no cars. Ideal for a holiday where you want to chill and visit other islands. The restaurants are lovely and locals very friendly. Wonderful sunsets and scenery. Orasac is a rather small and tranquil village about 25 mins. car drive from Dubrovnik downtown (old town). There are several restaurants, but closed during off season, however the little bar and local shop seemed quite busy during our stay over Easter. Loads of restaurant opportunities though nearby at the Sun Gardens Resort or in Zaton, a little fisher village next to Orasac. Definitely a quiet spot to relax after a busy touristy day in Dubrovnik. Very relaxed island, not somewhere to go if you like the bust night life & entertainment on tap. This is a place to kick back & take life a more leisurely pace. We went with our family of 11, 4 young adult children & partners, 1 teen & ourselves. There was enough to keep everyone occupied, beach, bars, boat trips, walking, reading, card games. Getting to the island is easily accessed by a ferry service & there are plenty of smaller boats for hire if those times don’t suit. Dubrovnik, even in shoulder season, felt too touristy. There was no opportunity for individual interaction with local people except for those in the tourism industry. Although all people we interacted with in various tourist establishment were professional, it felt very transactional. Apart from the Old Town and a couple of islands locally, there was not much to do - you can get it all over in two days! Plus travel to Dubrovnik from Zadar was painful - 9.5 hours by bus with 37 stops! It appears that FlixBus in Dalmatia is unlike in other areas - it is more like a local bus service (although we did get fantastic views of the coastline), the bus actually had standing passengers an some prebooked customers had to stand!Guest review byParitoshUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Zaton was a very peaceful, small harbour village/town with a few restaurants, swimming spots, a shop, as well as opportunities for excursions. Being just off the main road there is easy access to Dubrovnik and other towns. There's a gorgeous church and woodland walk, with great views across the bay. You could easily stay within Zaton for a more secluded and relaxing break, or use it as a base to venture out from.
