From check in, as we came with our dog, and it was very hot outside, reception girl gave us an early access to the room. Also beds were very comfortable, we had excellent sleep quality. Also to mention, AC in the room was very good, keeping cool temperature during extreme outside hot temperatures. We took all inclusive package, and it was very worth the cost. All meals were superb, really don’t understand people complaining on food quality. Been already in several all inclusive hotels in Croatia, and this had the best food so far, every day plenty of choice and really tasty meals. Location of the hotel is also excellent, with a lot of secluded beaches around, with relaxing 20 min walk to nearby Vrboska town. Split & the whole of Croatia has so much history to explore. I would recommend a walking tour, unfortunately we did not have enough time. The shops are lovely to walk around, blended into Diocletian's palace, beautiful place. Picasso's cafeb/bar beside our accommodation was lovely for breakfast, get there early as it fills up quickly. We loved Bol, it was a lovely resort with plenty of restaurants, great walks and beaches and it had a friendly, laid-back vibe with people of all ages. Zlatni Rat beach was lovely and when we were there it wasn't overly busy and although clearly set up for tourists they seem to have kept the balance just about right (although the sun beds and shades are ridiculously expensive at 39 euros per day for 2 sunbeds and 1 umbrella), needless to say we didn't bother. The walk along the promenade to Zlatni Rat was gorgeous with lots to interest from interesting villas, bars, tourist gift stalls, sculptures and the tree cover made it shady and attractive. Equally the walk into town and the harbour and then further along to the monastery was also interesting and always something different to see. Food and drink is not cheap sadly but most of the meals we had were really good quality - for a special meal try Boket 78, our most expensive meal but the flavours were amazing. I had the lamb and it was one of the best meals I've ever had, hubby had the black risotto and he said it was full of flavour too. Also the vegan restaurant Biomania was lovely. We loved the town of Podstrana, the beach areas were easy to access, there were sun loungers and umbrellas for hire if the pebble beach was too much! It was quiet season during our stay and we negotiated a discount on our sunbeds.... The bars were also quiet and some restaurants had closed. We really liked the peace and quiet and were never short of some where to eat or have drinks. The choice of watersports and boat trips was reduced due to end of season but still available on request. Crystal clear water and you can see straight to the bottom even when it’s deep. The water is so clean it’s almost unreal, like swimming in a giant natural pool. If you love pristine beaches and amazing water quality, this place is absolutely worth it. The only downsides are that getting into the water can be a bit tricky since it’s rocky rather than sandy beaches. For me, this is simply the best place in Croatia. It's smaller than, for example, Makarska, and lacks noisy clubs and loud nightlife, which I consider strong advantages. You can find everything you need: beautiful beaches, bars, snack stands, and upscale restaurants.
