A+ location in Canggu, right by a main artery. The staff was incredible. We were on our honeymoon and they put a nice decoration on our bed and provided us breakfast in bed the next day. They left a room open for us as we had a late flight. The breakfast is amazing, our favorite was the French toast. Great wifi. They helped us rent a scooter during our time there. The general manager, YuSee (may have spelled that wrong), was so friendly and accommodating.

The vibe of the place, the staff which was super friendly and made us feel welcome, the food. We stayed in room 5 and we had a garden view, really liked the cottage. Even the room was small, we managed to store our luggage in a corner. I would suggest at least a stander to put some clothes. With Grab you can reach the center in a couple of mins.

The friendliness, kindness and helpfulness of the staff exceeded our expectations. We felt so at home and so welcome, that saying goodbye at the end of our stay was truly bittersweet. The staff (Chacha, Yuni, Jeff, Fina, and everyone else!) completely made this experience for us — and the atmosphere in the hotel was so fantastic because of this fantastic staff, they were beyond lovely, even by Balinese standards! An Island Dream

The dream destination of Bali is where volcanic landscape meets lush rice terraces and pristine beaches. Not to mention the fantastic surfing, cheap shopping and pervading spirituality that have made this Indonesian island a long-time favourite for backpackers.

The island’s capital is Denpasar in the south, but its surf and party capital is nearby Kuta. Swaying palm trees line the beach here and many more cover the grounds of the Bali hotels on the beach in more exclusive Seminyak to the north.

On the island’s north coast, Pemuteran beach offers lovely views of the sloping mountains heading towards the Bali Sea. Many beaches on this coast are black sand, including sweeping Lovina beach from where dolphins can often be seen. Ubud is the island’s cultural capital and houses a monkey sanctuary in its jungle-like landscape. An ancient Hindu temple is found here, but the best-known temple is Tanah Lot, surrounded by water.     Padma Resort Ubud is, simply put, the best resort I have ever been to. The hotel grounds are huge and located in a lush jungle river valley. Common areas include (among others) an amazing pool with a sunken pool bar, a bamboo nest used for yoga classes and private dinners, a well-equipped gym, two very nice restaurants, a cocktail lounge bar, an incredibly atmospheric spa, a very nicely arranged garden with an animal farm, archery and golfing facitilies and a trully unique track going around the hotel and into the jungle itself. All of these places have been designed very carefully to provide both aesthetic appeal and functionality. Views are breathtaking wherever you go. The array of activities provided is simply impressive. The hotel has something for everyone. The rooms are very elegant, spacious and comfy. The cleanliness was impeccable. The food everywhere in the hotel was really good. The cocktails were masterfully crafted and the wine list was good as well. All these however, were relatively insignificant compared to the true highlight, which was the amazing staff. All of the people we met there were beyond kind, extremely helpful, always with a smile, they went the extra mile to provide us with the best experience possible and their demeanour was what made our day, every day. We would like to thank them all for these days. We were genuinely sad to leave and we hope to return some day, even though we live half the world away. To sum up, if you are looking for the perfect place to relax in the beautiful island of Bali, and you have a little extra holiday money to spare, look no further. Padma Ubud will probably be the best place you have ever been.

    I have travelled through the whole of Indonesia, and this is literally the best place you will get (for such a low price)! Super clean (no sewage smell as literally everywhere else), feeling 100% safe all the time, cool architecture and design (luxuriously youthful, with the pool, common areas - everything well maintained). Location is incredible - Kuta can be noisy and chaotic, but this one is on a quiet little street (but only 20 meters from the main street), and the beach is just a short walk from the inn (I went surfing twice a day (3min walk), everything else is less than a minute walk from the inn - shops, restaurants...). The staff is 1st class - SUPER kind, they are always helpful, making sure the facilities are spotless throughout the whole day and making sure the guests are feeling well. Special mention to the amazing Miss Lefiana, the hotel manager who made sure I felt at home, being extremely professional yet kind. Wherever I went for several days throughout my travel on Bali (Ubud, Canggu, Lombok ...) I kept coming back to Cara Cara ❤️

    The resort was impressive. At arrival guests are welcomed by gamelan which made us feel at home. The location/area of the resort was perfect, next to the beach with multiple water activities, not too far from the gate of the gated area. The resort also had daily activities for kids, a few pools and several restaurants, our favorite was Gading restaurant. The staff was VERY friendly and made sure we had an incredible stay. Big compliments!

    I loved how green the scenery was. And there is a lot of art in every form from paintings to gold and silver jewelry. There are so many shops. And the monkey forest is also a highlight around the center of ubud. There are also many international cuisines to choose from such as Japanese, Mexican, and Indian. Don't forget to try an ATV ride or hike up Mount Batur, too. So fun!

    Kuta is a great destination for a family holiday, Food choices are amazing with a great range of venues. We travelled as a large family group with friends joining us for a birthday celebration. Fun time had by all with many laughs along the way.

    Canggu has a nice mix of things for every age group. It has wonderful cafes (Milk and Madu), beach clubs (La Brisa), restaurants (Longtime; Lulu’s), clubs and bistros (Margaret bistro). There’s also yoga, fitness and spas. It ticks all the boxes. Just be mindful when ordering salads, vegetable juice or iced drinks from certain places, as the tap water is not potable. It is also a short distance away from Seminyak (which has a lot of shopping; our kid loves places like Stroberi, Kids à gogo and Candyland).

    Seminyak has so much to see and do, we were not short of places to eat and it was so easy with the family to walk out and find somewhere. Our favourite was Amici as the terrace area is relaxed garden feel and the kids were comfortable so made meal times easier. We loved Kudeta beach club, there was a family day when we went so face painting and lots of activities for them to join in with.

    Uluwatu is much more expensive and luxury compared to the rest of Bali. The place is under a massive construction renovation, there are construction site everywhere so it will be very different in a couple of years. We enjoyed our 4 days there but there is definetly less activities except for luxurious cliff restaurant and beach clubs.

    Like that the beach was not as congested with human traffic compared to some other spots. Good stretch of walking trail along the beach. The beach itself has a lot of debris, perhaps due to aftermath of flood from week before. Wish there is more selection of local food. The Sidhu night market offers quite limited local food.

    Unfortunately , NP seems to have far too many visitors for what the road infrastructure can handle . The roads to all the local sightseeing hotspots are not wide enough for oncoming vehicle to pass each other without driving on the shoulder of the road ( if it exists ) and constantly causing further damage ,. The roads surfaced are very badly broken a terribly pot- holed . Vehicle journeys to the popular destinations take an inordinately long time with traffic banked up while cars try to pass each other when they can . On the plus ; the restaurants and beach clubs and bars serve excellent food and live music nightly was easy to find . And entertaining . The coastline scenery is fantastic . Itis why so many people make trip . The fast ferry services from Sanur to NP are very good and only 30 minutes .

    We liked the central location in Legian.

    We liked the central location in Legian. Hawkers should not attend hotel, this is rest time from shopping and bartering. Pad on Bene was our favourite place to eat anytime. Good food.Fat Tony’s burgers great. Water BOM amazing, our son went 4 times during our stay with great water slides. Traffic congestion to Changu and Ubud was horrendous. Took 2 hours for such a small distance.

    friendly, charming, plenty to see, however seeing so much rubbish / trash lying about took away some of the 'shine'. Possibly the establishment of an organisation ?volunteer or ?commercial to recycle plastics (bottles) could certainly assist in recycling some of the plastics. There was one eating establishment which was doing it's very best to get the message across about limiting / recycling plastics!

    We spent two nights at the end of our holiday in this area. It was not for us. The area is dominated by large resorts and the main activities centre around surfing, or hanging out in a pricey resort/bar, or perhaps viewing artifical tourist sights. Admittedly some resorts are very nice and have nice views but it's not really my style of holiday to spend several hundred dollars to lounge on a sunbed on the coast. There are plenty of higher end places to eat in this area, but I didn't go to Indonesia to eat western food. The Indonesian options feel very samey and were better in other areas with more Indonesian diners. Even Ubud with its hordes of people felt more authentically like Bali than this area does. In all, if you want a resort style holiday or are a wealthy surfer then this is the area for you. If you want to mosey around and get a feel for Bali it is not. For other watersports, it would be better to go north e.g. for diving/snorkelling. Or go to another island altogether.
