It's tucked away down a little street close to the beach and surrounded by greenery meaning it's quiet as a mouse. It's a 5 or 10 minute walk to the beach and there are plenty of cafes and restaurants around to suit any budget or dietary requirement. There's a boardwalk along the beach, perfect for a morning walk to get coffee, or go to yoga at Power of Now (10 minute walk). The staff are wonderful and couldn't do more to make me comfortable. They have a few options available if you need to get a car somewhere, a deal to catch the boat across to the islands, and also massages available either in the lobby or in your room. The breakfast options were really reasonably priced and probably the cheapest around! I had the fruit plate and coffee and it was wonderful! The room I had was immaculate with a really comfortable bed, a tv, wardrobe and safe. The bathroom was outside and truly magical with plants growing all around the shower. It was incredible! The pool was a perfect temperature any time of the day and cleaned often. The wifi was reliably good and never dropped out, even when I was streaming/ on video calls. There were also a cat (Pusski) and a dog (Bobbi) living at the property who absolutely made me feel at home, lots of cuddles with both! Sanur offers a much quieter and more relaxed atmosphere compared to other areas in Bali, making it a great choice for those looking to escape the crowds. The area seems to attract a more mature crowd, with many visitors from Europe, which adds to the laid-back vibe. There are plenty of great hotels and lovely restaurants to choose from, making it a comfortable and enjoyable place to stay. We chose Sanur this time because we were spending five days on Nusa Lembongan, and it was a convenient spot for that. One downside is the traffic, which can be quite hectic if you're planning to explore other parts of Bali. Also, during our stay, there were roadworks and footpath upgrades underway, which made getting around a bit difficult — but that’s only a temporary issue and should improve soon. Overall, I would definitely stay in Sanur again. It’s a peaceful area, and I imagine it would be especially quiet and relaxing during the off-season.Guest review byCindy AnnAustralia - 10.0

Great city to explore... wish we would have had more time to look around. Everyone we met or talked to were very friendly and kind. Highly recommend. Beautiful relaxed area of Bali . Shopping and food was great. We used scooters to get around but everything is within walking distance, but many drivers, taxi and gojek also available. Denpasar is often overlooked and yet has so much to offer.
Denpasar is often overlooked and yet has so much to offer. There is history, culture, good food and places with open space, great views and room to walk if you know where to look. It's also a great base from which you can visit other areas and enjoy unique experiences with little travel time. It was easy to get around but little to do nearby. A great turtle conservation centre that will keep most people occupied for up to an hour. The hotel was in a good position right on the beach, the staff were helpful and friendly. I had a small medical incident not relating to the hotel and ended up in hospital for 2 days, a representative from the hotel came to visit me, bringing a box of complimentary fruit from the Mercure. He also arranged a courtesy car to collect me the following day and take me back to the hotel, and arranged a later check out from 12:00- to 2:00 pm complimentary, I would certainly recommend the Mercure in Sanur.Guest review byDeborahAustralia - 10.0
