We did not feel confident to ride a bike or drive a car as the traffic was too hectic so we decided to purchase the tour around the island and the one to the island of Tidore offered by the hotel. We enjoyed both days. The ride from the airport is IDR150/200k. From the villa you can walk 15min downhill to the main road where there's a little Indomarket and some street food/warung. We had dinner at the hotel a couple of nights. Food was excellent. Also breakfast was good (nice to be outside in the garden). Our room (room D) had a wonderful view. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom spacious. Room cleaning takes place every two days. In case you need to change money in Ternate you can go to Mandiri Bank the one on Jl. Nukila (they accept only 100USD bills). Avoid the money changer on Jl Kapitan Pattimura as it is a rip off.Guest review byLARAItaly

It is spectacular to see the volcano as we came in to land...
It is spectacular to see the volcano as we came in to land and all the volcanic geography of the area. The history of Ternate is fascinating and worth reading up on before you travel. The people are very warm, welcoming and friendly. The markets are totally authentic with no touristy rubbish, just all locals doing their trading with colourful fruits, veggies, spices and fish. Definitely worth a visit!Guest review byCoralAustralia
