Staff were welcoming and friendly - when I arrived the restaurant had closed for the night but they offered to get me food from the kitchen, which was appreciated. The food was very good, particularly if you like seafood - the fish pie was very tasty. The room was clean and comfortable and had a small balcony. The hotel is a couple of minutes' walk from the harbour at the end of the village street.

The people running this hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was large and perfectly clean. We wanted for nothing and would have stayed longer if our trip allowed. It is quaint without being twee - the coloured houses are iconic. We enjoyed seeing them in the real and they are so well kept. The shops sell local produce - Aran sweaters, wooden goods, art, honey etc which are well worth buying. We were there to do parkrun on Inis Meain so we spent a day there. Anyone who likes being in the wild would be in heaven. The views are amazing and the peacefulness is palpable. The pub serves hearty fare and well priced. The ferry trip was great fun but we were lucky with the weather. Eating in Doolin at night is a lively affair with trad music on in most pubs. I would love to have stayed longer.

Ennis is a really nice town to visit. There's a nice atmosphere to the place. Even though the whole of the centre was being dug up for improvements it was still really interesting to walk around. The bars were great. Good music and never closed if you were still drinking, it seemed.

A great little village with several places to eat and drink and the beautiful Bunratty castle and Folk park to visit. I highly recommend the Creamery and Durty Nelly's, I didn't eat anywhere else as we ran out of time. Bunratty is a great location to visit so many places. You can park and access it so easily off the N18 and be on your way. We went to the Cliffs of Moher and Lehinch and stayed a night in Limerick though if I did it again I would have stayed at The Courtyard B&B in Bunratty for the two nights, it was lovely.

Killaloe / Ballina is a beautiful twin town spanning the river Shannon. Great river walks, the old road bridge is now pedestrianised making it easy to go from the Ballina to the Killaloe side and vice versa. There's a variety of restaurants, coffee shops and pubs with indoor and outdoor areas. The Lakeside Hotel Killaloe (on the Ballina side) serves excellent food and drinks. Avoid the Bóruna Gastro Pub for now, it's dirty and the service is poor, could be great with it's rooftop bar but needs a refresh of the property and attitudes. Tuscany Bistro on the Ballina side serves excellent food in with great service Raw Interiors serves great food and coffee on the Killaloe side quirky building and great service

The room was freezing (as we're others) , the staff unhelpful and an unapologetic manager. Couldn't manage to get my rewards without multiple visits to reception (at least two other guests gave up) and got slapped by a 25euro charge for checking in an hour early .
