- From US$374.73 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.4Good - What previous guests thought, 164 reviewsEnchanting place, immersed in a spectacular nature. The atmosphere is muffled, relaxing and welcoming. The structure is very beautiful, with some small details that could still be improved. Our suite (AAMBAL) very beautiful, with a small pool, lake view, immersed in absolute peace. All the staff deserves a special mention, for the attention, courtesy and professionalism. For some a special mention: all the reception staff, attentive to our needs and guardian of our forgetfulness! Athul, responsible for the SPA services, with the two professionals, Shilba and Binu who for days took care of our needs. At the restaurant, where all the waiters deserve applause for efficiency and commitment but a special appreciation goes to the kitchen brigade and its Executive Chef Arun Surendran. We are two frequent travellers, with considerable experience of India and its special cuisine even if very spicy for Western tastes. For four days we had the privilege of tasting traditional Indian and Kerala dishes (Allapey vegetable curry, Kadai Murg, Paneer do pyaza, Vendakka pepper fry, Spiced papad, Malabari Paratha), excellently prepared, with a formidable balance and taste, even for Italian palates, which is no small thing! Really compliments.Guest review byAlessandroItaly
- From US$119.73 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 118 reviewsThe breakfast was good, - fresh cut fruits & juices, toast & eggs, sausages, hash brown, etc. The various traditional Kerala dishes we had for lunch and dinner were very good too. The service staff did a good job, particularly Musa. The property is very well maintained, both inside and out. The traditional tiled roofs look great in the verdant settings. There's a spa and an outdoor swimming pool too for those interested. The property faces the great Vembanad Lake, so a great view is guaranteed at all times, and particularly at sunset. Cormorants, egrets and herons are seen by the lakeside. The access to the property from the car park is by a short boat ride on a village canal which adds to the atmospherics. We enjoyed walking through the neighbouring village and interacting with the friendly villagers.Guest review bygogoiIndia
- From US$384.91 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 401 reviewsWalk with the naturalist in the morning is a must do. The rooms are like mountain huts and very spacious. Food (breakfast, dinner) was excellent. For us eating Sattvik diet no issue at all. The place is like being in a natural resort the whole time. Must does are the sunset cruise, morning walks and a get a boat to explore the canalsGuest review byAlexanderGermany

It was not clean, during we arrived and even we left nobody clean up the private pool. I love the SpaGuest review byAmiePhilippines

Didn't see much of the main part of Vaikom but did walks around the homestay. Visited a Temple and was lucky enough to see a ceremony which involved drumming, dancing, elaborate make-up and fire. There is a Ghandi memorial park to see which is very interesting.Guest review byDawnUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Kumarakom is a beautiful village famous for its serene backwaters, lakes filled with lotus, small roads and above all, its warm and welcoming people. Found it easy to engage in delightful conversations, experiencing genuine local hospitality and culture firsthand. However, if you are unaccustomed to village life, a few precautions will enhance your experience. Always carry mosquito repellent, especially during evenings near the water bodies, Don't drink Toddy and Spicy foodsGuest review byRajUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Good : Great waterfront locations, lots of superb landscaped resorts with lots of birds and calm and quiet neighbourhood. Bad : Very few good restaurants in and around the area, and food served at most of the upscale star hotels and resorts is very poor in quality and expensive, especially the dinner. Note : Avoid during peak summer (March & April) as it is very hot and humid.Guest review byRahul
