Reykjavik is quite easy to walk around in the downtown core.
Reykjavik is quite easy to walk around in the downtown core. Pretty buildings, great shopping, lots of restaurant choices, etc. We loved going to the pools and it was a good place to start our tour of Iceland. Prepare for expensive restaurant meals, but everywhere we ate was delicious. We enjoyed the whale museum, lava centre, museum of Iceland, and the Perlan (the only northern lights we got to see on our trip!).Guest review byKerraCanada - 8.0

Hafnarfjorthur was between Keflavic and Reykjavik making it quite handy and more affordable to stay at. We rented a car to tour the Golden Circle, enjoy the Blue Lagoon, and sightsee in Reykjavik and felt that was a good choice. We didn't sightsee in Hafnarfjorthur.Guest review byLynetteUnited States - 8.0

Great location if you are looking for accommodation as part of planning to do the Golden Circle. Circa 40-45 minute drive to Thinvellir. Grocery store nearby (sells good quality sushi) however only a few eating out options.Guest review byKarmaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Neighborhood is out of the way but has great views and animals and is near the road to Costco. we spent 2 weeks driving the entire island and enjoyed it. This is a place of unique, rugged beauty. The resort has wonderful accommodations to fit the needs of 2 people or a large group. The spa and bistro are just right for a group that wishes to enjoy the hot springs and enjoy a light meal together.Guest review byMichaelUnited States - 10.0

This is one of ,,those,, accommodations where you want to spend the night after a week full of traveling. It is clear that the owner has a sense of detail and quality. You can feel the quality on the materials and furnishings, the equipment of the entire apartment and the services that are here. Everything is still new, clean. Situated in a quiet location. We slept very well! Parking in front of the entrance, Accessibility anywhere is perfect. Since it is new here, the accommodation does not have any review and even though I usually do not write reviews, I think this one deserves one. For the price, it is exclusive accommodation and we will definitely come back here.Guest review byDaniel K.Slovakia - 10.0

My son and I traveled to Iceland for a 5 night vacation, staying in Reykjavik for a total of 3 nights. What a wonderful, safe, friendly city! We stayed downtown in 2 different areas, both walkable to the many museums, restaurants, and shopping districts. Reykjavik is colorful, with buildings and street art abundant. Reykjavik is also expensive, as is all of Iceland, so prepare to spend almost double for food, drink, and gifts as you would in the U.S. That being said, I loved it, and will be back!Guest review bywendyUnited States - 10.0

We are use to very large rooms with kitchens in our hotel room. While we vacationed in Iceland we stayed at VRBO’s but we saw this unique hotel and had to stay here and experience it! Loved walking around the hotel and the use of hot tub and sauna !!!Guest review byronnieUnited States - 10.0

Hlid Fisherman's Village had lots of "viking" character with some very interesting maritime realia, close proximity to Icelandic horses, heritage chickens, a koi pond, cedar sauna and two rooftop hot tubs. The room was very clean, bed was comfortable and the view was to the sea.Guest review byMarciaUnited States
