Our stay at Hotel Cavallino was wonderful. Very comfortable, clean, and spacious room with a cute balcony. Delicious dinner and breakfast. All of the staff members were lovely and very accommodating. The owner is great and clearly puts a lot of work and heart into the space. They have a great spa right across the street where we enjoyed the sauna, which was perfect after a day of hiking. We would absolutely come back and recommend this place to anyone that will be in the area!

Spectacular! We loved the pools and spa like atmosphere. They have a fantastic chef and the preset menu dinners at restaurant were fine dining quality - we ate there every night as was so excellent. Staff very helpful. They also offer various activities and guided tours/hikes free to guests which are excellent value. We would love to go back in the future.

Beautiful room with a mountain view. It was spotless, comfortable. We had breakfast (you pay a little extra) every morning, and the staff were delightful. We were there in off season, so very different, I imagine for skiers. But the hotel is located near a bunch of lifts. We also paid for dinner at the restaurant. Magnificent chef! Delicious meals. Lovely, attentive staff. Such a delicious place to dine.

Absolutely loved our stay, and the hospitality from Michil, his family, and the entire team was a huge component of this. They go the extra mile to ‘surprise and delight’ guests. Our first evening we were invited to join Michil and his wife for wine and apps which was such an unexpected treat. Rooms were thoughtfully done, great outdoor sitting space, lovely sauna facilities and lots of options for drinks and dining. But Michil is the star, taking the time to connect with guests, offer hiking suggestions and generally just check-in and say hello. I would highly recommend and already thinking of how I can return!

Nicely located close to the main attractions this hotel allowed my family to enjoy a couple of days in Dolomiti and explore the area. We would definitely come back.     We are a family of four who stayed for five nights, from December 25–30, during our ski trip. The rooms were very clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The in-house ski rental was incredibly convenient, and the ski room downstairs, equipped with three racks of boot dryers and plenty of space, made storing our gear hassle-free. The hotel offers a reliable ski bus service to and from Col Alto and Boe. Even during the busiest times, we never waited more than 10–15 minutes. Since we booked with half board, we were assigned a fixed table for breakfast and dinner, which we found quite convenient. The dinners were delicious, with a great selection from the buffet and the menu. The wine we ordered was excellent and reasonably priced. We also loved the pool and sauna, which could be reserved via the app. Using these facilities every day after skiing was a highlight of our trip. The staff were incredibly friendly and hardworking, ensuring we felt welcome throughout our stay. The WiFi speed was good enough for streaming YouTube videos without any issues. I had read some negative reviews before our stay but found none of them to be true—they must have addressed those concerns by now. Skiing in Alta Badia is a fantastic experience, and this hotel complemented it perfectly. We’ll definitely be back in the future!

    Everything was superb and the view from the room was breathtaking.. There are 4-5 types of saunas/baths, outdoor and indoor pool, relax room and more. Dinner time is adjusted perfectly so that you don't have to rush from your hikes. From the young lady at the reception to the lady and man who were with us during dinner, everyone was super helpful and informative. This was our honeymoon location and everything was perfect.

    If you like a quieter and more peaceful place to stay in I would choose Badia. Corvara was quite touristy. Also unfortunately Corvara does not have a well stocked supermarket, there is a DeSpar but it’s quite sad. There are two bakeries which are nice ones in Corvara. Food options are mostly only Italian food

    Colfosco is great for the views.

    Colfosco is great for the views. Amazing if you stay in a place with a view of the mountains. Limited restaurant options. Blackhill was our favorite. The market in Corvara was better for groceries. The town is a good base for driving to some of the most popular hikes in the Dolomites. While my dad called it Cold-fosco, because we seemed to be getting more wind than some other towns in nearby valleys, It is also true that we had a pretty cold September all over the area.

    The location of the town was perfect for our hiking holiday. Unfortunately we came at the end of the season and SC and neighbouring villages were very quiet. The free bus service was a great help getting around the area and even as far out as to Brunico. Eating out in SC was limited but a great find was the restaurant at the campsite of Sass Diacia.

    La Villa is a relatively small town near Corvara which is a well known large town. It is beautiful everything is slightly cheaper than Corvara and not so busy. The views are picturesque the restaurants are great and it’s not too far from passo Pordoi etc We recommend going in June or July before the chaos of August. It’s our favourite place to go and we will be returning.

    I did not really explore the locale ... struck me as not a huge amount to do - but I was very happy with the facilities at the Hotel Melodia. Lots of varied skiing - a car makes things very much easier than having to rely on local shuttles.

    La Vall is a good destination for vacations, but it is not a good choice for skiing because it is far from the ski lift and the ski bus does not go very often, so the journey to the ski lift takes a long time.

    Corvara is an excellent base for exploring the area. It is much higher and cooler than Bolzano. It is much smaller and easier to navigate than Cortina. It has access to very easy alpine meadow trails and more challenging rocky places above the tree line.

    This small town is surrounded by Italian Alps which allow travelers to stay calm and peaceful mood. Convenient stores were available in the city center. It is easy to access to any hotel from main road to the edge of mountains. Location of this town is in between Ortisei and Cinque Torri which makes this town as stopover for a night for Dolomites pilgrimage. Of course, multiple night stay is also recommended. In summer time, air and temperature can refresh tired body and release stress. Highly recommendable with two thumbs up.

    San Cassiano is a great place to stay in the Alta Badia area...

    San Cassiano is a great place to stay in the Alta Badia area of the Dolomites. You are surrounded by the start of some great hiking trails and they are easy to access. It's a smaller village located closer to the Falzarego Pass and the Piz Sorega Cable Car. There are PLENTY of trails to find yourself on here. If you are staying at a local inn, make sure to try local ladin dishes and ask about the local dialect! You won't regret it. For solo female travelers the area is perfect, as I personally felt safe on the trails. Locals are friendly and you get some wonderful views of the surrounding dolomiti peaks.

    La Villa is a great place to situate yourself in the Alta...

    La Villa is a great place to situate yourself in the Alta Badia region. I highly recommend it during the fall. The fall colors are GORGEOUS! Easy access to trails and a quick ride over to St. Cassiano, La Val and Corvara!
