- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very Good - What previous guests thought, 473 reviews1. we love Marina Bibona in particular as it is more family area. Cecina, the town next to it which we used to go through cycling (its a beautiful path where people run, cycle etc- not a creepy forest) is more for young party people. but good to go for some fun during the day. 2. the camp is clean and have all sort of options- some campers etc but we opt to rent a proper mobile home. It well equipped and well designed. clean bathroom and bedrooms is well designed with drawers and wardrobes. small space but you will not feel since the design maximizes all space. there's a lounge area inside where you can eat but we prefer to have our meals at the balcony which has a good size dining table too. 3. we stayed for 2 weeks and they have a good sized fridge to store up! 4. conad (a bigger supermarket) is just a walk away and right across the back gate is a family owned shop which has all the basics you need. A very friendly lady, my 10 year old just runs through if we need something for cooking. his broken Italian gets him what we need :) . Tip: they make the loveliest sausage- better than Conad and the cheese is also amazing. 5. next to the camp site is also a bicycle rental and loads of restaurant. at night, there are pop up sellers too! and a church for Catholics like me :) 6. Nicole - the super lovely girl from the camp! - they hold different activities, just check the calendar posted. my favorite is the aqua aerobics! (though ive been battered by the waves, the show still went on hahah). theres football and night entertainment. its beautiful beautiful place we would love to go back again. 7. not very touristy thats why we tried to do live like locals, learn our basic Italian (they are so friendly anyway- they will help you out as you get lost in translation). the bar just accross the back entrance of camp has lively music, sometimes karaoke, you will not get bored! 8. TIP: its a quiet time between 1 to 3PM so plan out the day considering this timing.Guest review byGrachelleUnited Arab Emirates
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very Good - What previous guests thought, 1,291 reviewsThis was an amazing few nights stay for us. The resort is fabulous, located by the beach, little chalets are between pines trees. The chalet we had was perfect for our family of 5. There is plenty to do for the kids. Pools were very busy but we didn’t mind as the beach and sea was what we preferred. Our son was the only speaking child in the kids club ( this was. A group for 10 year olds) but the person looking after the group (Abdullah) made sure that our boys felt included and had a great time. The Italian boys were also very welcoming and super kind and so my son had a very good time. We loved the evening entertainment. Food was a bit meh, for Italian beautiful food standards but it was fresh and overall ok for few days (I am not sure I would be happy if we stayed over the week 😀 the cook really needs to learn how to make scrambled eggs. But the omlettes were good). The little shop on the facilities was just great for daily groceries. Overal amazing!Guest review byAlexandraUnited Arab Emirates
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very Good - What previous guests thought, 1,392 reviewsIt’s very cute and quaint with a variety of camping types (personal tents and campers but also rentable mobile homes and tent houses). I love that there is not auto traffic though the campground which makes it quiet and safe for walking. The mobile home we rented was clean and comfortable. All linens were included which was appreciated as we were traveling by bike. The beach was really nice and the water was very shallow for a long ways out.Guest review byJeffrey HarrItaly

There's not a lot there.
There's not a lot there. And when the cruise ships come in, it gets manic with people getting on busses. We'd a BAD experience with the inspectors that come on buses. They home in on tourist's, when they checked our tickets that we did on the card machine, though not our fault, we wanted 2 tickets, it gave us 1 and the called us crimenalsGuest review byBoyle - 8.0
A very attractive town.
A very attractive town. The beaches are superb, but unless you head out of town you need to go into a beach club. There are no free access beaches in town. Some hotels have an arrangement with a beach club for free or discounted access for guests, so it is worth checking this if you intend to use the beaches. It can cost typically EUR30-40 for 2 chairs, a sunbed and an umbrella. They don't offer reduced rates until 3-4pm. That will add up after a few days. The restaurants are OK but nothing special. Most of them serve the same food, which can get boring. We ate in our hotel restaurant more than we usually would, but the quality and variety of food on offer was better than any outside restaurant we tried. Apart from the beach, shops and walking up and down the promenade, there is not much to actually do in Viarregio, so you may want to get out on some day trips. Pisa and Luca are accessible by train, although we found them both to be disappointing (especially Luca - what a dump!). We found the train service a bit hit and miss, although it is cheap. Consider hiring a car if you plan to get out of Viareggio. If you pick up and drop off at the airport, it will also be useful for airport transfers.Guest review byFarnboUnited Kingdom - 4.0
Everything was a bit run-down and in need of restoration.
Everything was a bit run-down and in need of restoration. The beaches and restaurants were almost entirely empty of people, so there was a a lack of excitement and "buzz" about the whole area. I might have expected this a month later, but not in September.Guest review byAntony - 8.0

It was okay, there were some nice restaurants in the area and beaches with a good price. However, not that many things happening. But it was close to other cities and towns so very easy to do a day trip.Guest review byAdriana PatrycjaAustria - 10

Beautiful little town nestled in between the mountains and sea. The locals are very friendly, it's an easy town to walk around as it's not too big. The beach is HUGE so you can have a lovely walk along it. Lots of places to eat and drink to suit a variety of budgets – highlights were Caffe Soldi, Caffe Roma, Pesce Baracca, Bocconcino. There are lots of places to visit nearby – Pietrasanta, Lucca, Pisa, Cinequeterra – or you can relax on the beach in Forte, you will not be bored!Guest review bySarahUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Were there off-season: very few people, many places closed, lots of free parking space everywhere! Rather complicated access to the beaches. Beware of leaving bikes, even if locked in remote places, the tyres of our bikes had been punctured, probably in preparation to be stolen later at night. Else, wonderful natural beaches nearby and other natural reserves.Guest review byMarcoSwitzerland - 8.0

A very pretty island but if you travel on the ferry for a day trip make sure you check the weather report because we got stuck there overnight which was stressful. The Ferry company had no website and the phone number was engaged all of the time. The information was non-existent and staff were at times rude and not helpful. Were given false information and told the next ferry was at 3pm. We had to cancel the accommodation we had paid for and book another night in Piombino. We were having lunch and saw the ship's funnel emitting smoke. We had to run for 1 km to get on the ferry with no warning.Guest review byMichaelAustralia - 10

Absolutely loved Cstiglione della Pescaia, the sandy beaches and refreshing water, Of course nothing compares to our Australian white sandy beaches and pristine waters, this place comes in a close second. Most suitable for families and children as the sea water was calm and shallow.Guest review bySoniaAustralia - 10
We loved staying in this bed and breakfast place!
We loved staying in this bed and breakfast place! It is family owned business and they all do everything they can, above and beyond, so that their guests will feel comfortable and happy. The building was recently renovated and beautiful, the room was big and very comfortable, and the location could not be better! Few minutes from the beach, restaurants, and the promenade. We hope to come again.Guest review byAnonymousUnited States - 8.0
I travelled to San Vincenzo for sailing.
I travelled to San Vincenzo for sailing. Given the relatively large marina and the geographical location close to Elba and Isola Capraia, Vincenzo is a great starting point for a sailing holiday. Beyond that, the city also offers some interesting sightseeing and a nice old city centre with a beautiful pedestial zone with numerous restaurants.Guest review byOtsoFinland
