- From US$357.03 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.6Good - What previous guests thought, 83 reviewsCasa di Lago was just exactly what we hoped for - and more - just a short walk from the centre of town where the most difficult thing was deciding which restaurant to eat at. We loved our small terrace where we could breakfast or occasionally lunch - and the views from all of the bedroom balconies. But the best part for us was the private lakeside garden - I wouldn’t recommend it for children who cannot swim, as there is no really ‘shallow end’ - but for us it was simply bliss - time for a much needed relax. Reception staff were charming and very responsive, and there was free parking a short distance away. I can’t wait to return, hopefully bringing family and friends.Guest review byMayUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.6Good - What previous guests thought, 191 reviewsAwesome position if that’s where you wanted to be as it is a few kms uphill from Pettenasco Fantastic restaurant (although no breakfast available) Very generous helpful host opened up early to let us drop our bags in Clean room with nice balcony with view She gave us taxi numbers a lthough they were unavailable. Recommend having a car Apparently there were waterfalls somewhere We could have looked a bit more at the flyers downstairs , there were lots available The ones I took for the lac were good It was relaxing and peaceful thereGuest review byCarolNew Zealand

The location of the hotel was quite stunning. The room we had was indeed amazing, very cozy, very comfy, the hot tub was awesome as well as the balcony with the view over the square and mountains. The breakfast was quite nice too. Very delicious home-made types of food were offered to us. We had an amazing experience in this Hotel and in Orta San Giuglio as well. We will definetely be back next year.Guest review byMichalCzech Republic

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 719 reviewsOrta San Giulio is a hidden gem. This little town is worth a stay. It's very different from Lake Como. Spend 2 nights at Hotel Leon after a recommendation. Our room at the top had everything a traveller would need. Bed was comfortable, and the deck let sunlight into the room. Staff were lovelyGuest review byMargaretAustralia

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 247 reviewsThis is our second visit here, and everything is really lovely. We took the loft apartment, and I have to say: if it had been any hotter, it would've been impossible to sleep in the loft. There needs to be something that pulls the air through and up.Guest review byfjdlaödfjAustria

We loved the place.
We loved the place. Taking boats to the village's and th island is a must. The restaurant on the island is wonderful with great food and if you sit by the window as we did a wonderful view. You also need to walk up the sacred mount to see all the chapels. The place is not a mass tourist place so visit now before others find it.Guest review byKenchUnited Kingdom - 8.0

If you are seeking peace, tranquility and natural beauty - this is the place for you. No children and gorgeous lake - much smaller than Como or Maggiore but you can easily get to Maggiore in 30 minutes if you want more life. Gorgeous restaurant which the hostess arrange for us with taxi to and from included just down the road and a little local Osteria 30 meters away for a truly local experience.Guest review bySusanUnited Kingdom - 10.0

There were market stalls on Thursday. Extremely helpful and patient locals (we speak a tiny, tiny amount of Italian). Great local takeaways, cafe's and restaurants. A couple of supermarkets if you really want them but why would you with all the local shops selling the best cheese, meats, bread and pastries.Guest review byMartinUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We only had one nights stay at the hotel as a stopover coming from france travelling down through Italy, however it was exactly what we expected and more. A really lovely location with a great aspect, Monte Bianco was viewable from our room balcony. it was very clean and the staff were helpful. the food was nice, however i would of liked to seen an itemised bill for our food, when we checked out. On retrospect i'm not sure if i was overcharged slightly for our dinner. If that was the case its partly my fault for not enquiring further. Having said this we would definitely return if we took this route again. Peaceful and enjoyable stay with clean nice rooms.Guest review bySimonUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We stayed in Alzo, part of Pella apparently, but its own little village up the hill somewhat on the west side of Lago d'Orta. The square looks over the lake: fantastic view with a small village feeling. Post office, lodging choices, church, dining (Osteria del Gallo), bank, all a short drive down to Pella or up more to the homes and sights high above.Guest review byWilliam - 8.0

Miasino is a quit small village. We choose for a dinner @ villa Nigra Taverne. Fine and fresh cooked. The other day we start to walk down to the lake steep but nice walk for 20 minutes and visit the old village for a couple of hours.Guest review byJanNetherlands - 10.0
We love Orta San Giulio. It was our second visit.
We love Orta San Giulio. It was our second visit. We enjoy the town, the square, the restaurants and the views over the picturesque San Giulio Convent Island that you can reach by ferry and walk around quietly (it is a silent order of nuns) taking in messages on signboards that relate to life. We also visited the ancient St. Francis of Assisi Sacro Monte chapels (13 of them) on the top of the hill - a lovely place to reflect amid the quiet of the forest.Guest review byEsau - 10.0

Very good welcome from the two brothers who run the Battle of Britain hotel. We had lunch and it was served in a large dining room overlooking lake Orta and the beautiful gardens downstairs. The view is stunning. Lunch was very pleasant. Good beef carpaccio served with plenty of parmigiano and small salads on side. I discovered a new Italian dessert called Bonet, a speciality from Turin. Efficient and friendly staff 👏👏Guest review byJean-MichelUnited Kingdom - 10.0

This is a beautiful place, quieter than other lakes we visited and the town is easily explored on foot or by boat. It has a beautiful piazza and many bars and restaurants - but also historic monuments - such as a hermitage and the twenty shrines to St Francis. There are walks from the town, or across to the other site of the lake. People seemed relaxed and friendly, even though it was late in the seasonGuest review byPeterUnited Kingdom
