- From $138.41 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 212 reviewsOur recent stay at I Cinque Balconi, Santa Marina, Isole Salina, Sicily, exceeded all expectations and left us with unforgettable memories and offered an experience that was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by Matina with genuine warmth and enthusiasm. Her heartfelt greeting, "Hello! We were expecting you," immediately made us feel like honored guests. Despite our early arrival, Matina graciously offered us water and personally escorted us to our room. Along the way, she took the time to showcase the hotel's amenities and, with a flourish, opened the curtains to unveil a breathtaking view of the sea. It was an awe-inspiring sight that instantly captivated our hearts. To our absolute delight, Matina had arranged a delightful surprise for us. As we were celebrating our anniversary and birthday, our room was adorned with a bottle of prosecco, two elegant glasses, beautiful flowers freshly picked from the garden, and a handwritten note expressing their heartfelt congratulations. It was a thoughtful and personal touch that made us feel incredibly special and cherished. From the moment we stepped foot onto the property, time seemed to lose its meaning. Each passing hour felt like an eternity, and our 24-hour stay felt like three glorious days. The atmosphere at I Cinque Balconi was cathartic and euphoric, enveloping us in a sense of tranquility and bliss that is truly hard to describe. While we regrettably did not have dinner on the property during our visit, we highly recommend taking the advice offered by the hotel and indulging in at least one evening meal on-site. We heard from other guests about the exceptional culinary experiences they had, and we regretted not having the opportunity to savor the delectable delights firsthand. It's a valuable tip that we enthusiastically pass on to future travelers. Throughout our entire stay, we were embraced as cherished members of the Lo Schiavo family.Guest review byMrozekUnited States
- From $219.59 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 153 reviewsThe view is amazing, location is close to everything and the staff couldn't be more accommodating. Eleonora, the manager, arranged a pick-up for us from the port. She also booked us a day tour to Panarea and Stromboli. On our departure date, she offered to open breakfast early for us or even pack up a to go box for us which was incredibly thoughtful. Loved everything ❤️Guest review byRodUnited States

Charming and laidback- a great place to relax and chill. Enjoyed impromptu wine tasting at Fenech, and appreciated being shown around the island in an Ape calessino ( 3 wheeled motorbike) ecotour - highly recommended!Guest review byMaryAustralia - 10.0

Great little village with lots of delicious restaurants ad shops and galleries. Lots of fruit trees and a really cute beach (Spiaggia dello Scario). The village has a small supermarket, and has very good access to the rest of the island via the bus system, or by hiring a car or scooter at the various hire companies in the village.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0
Rinella in June was very quiet with not many restaurants to...
Rinella in June was very quiet with not many restaurants to choose from. There was one clothes shop, one grocery shop and one tabbachi. If you don’t have a car, ferry, taxi or Citi bus is the only way to get about - or hiking of course. The bus I think is cheapest but we didn’t use it because we were mostly island hopping. 10 minute ride on ferry to Santa Marina Salina seemed expensive for the trip but I think it gets more expensive at certain popular times of the day. This is a quieter, more remote place to do the hopping (with the extra 10 min journey always tagged on the end from Santa Marina) so if you want a little bit more buzz choose one of the other islands or Santa Marina. Personally, we liked the vibe on Vulcano and loved Stromboli. (Stromboli is probably not the best base for island hopping though as it is the furthest one away). Lipari is big and bustling and didn’t feel like island-life but if you like that sort of thing, it’s a great base. On the whole we enjoyed our choice of base at Rinella. It was a good ‘getaway from it all’ place, where we were forced to do extremely little- when not venturing.Guest review byLorraineUnited Kingdom - 4.0
My review of Lingua has nothing to do with the Hotel Borgo...
My review of Lingua has nothing to do with the Hotel Borgo di Mare where we stayed. It is strictly limited to the sea front part of the village where restaurant and various shops are located. Although we came in the second part of June, the summer vacation season had barely started with most of the restaurant not yet fully ready, offering partial services, like no pizza even if already on the menu. We had to manage our expectations on a case-by-case basis. But altogether we found the offering at the time very basic (range of choices), poorly executed and pricy (meaning high season prices)Guest review byFrancoisPortugal - 10.0
Salina is one of the most beautiful Aeolian Islands.
Salina is one of the most beautiful Aeolian Islands. It is well reputed for Malvasia wine and capers. The scenery is fantastic and the island offers good possibilities for a nice holiday. There are good walking opportunities, a reliable bus service, great cafes and restaurants and some nice shops.Guest review byBirgit SchunkeGermany - 10.0
We could have stayed in Malfa for at least a month!
We could have stayed in Malfa for at least a month! It was a quiet, peaceful town, with a small main street with a handful of shops, and maybe three restaurants, and more of a takeout cafe. We had excellent, leisurely meals at two of the restaurants, and really enjoyed the staff at both. We walked down to the beach one day, and loved it, but it was otherwise a lazy few days in a spectacularly beautiful place with very pleasant people. Malfa is a treasure!Guest review byShelbyUnited States - 10.0

It’s simply wonderful - just the right balance of leisure, shops, restaurants, not too overcrowded (early September) so strolling around is very pleasant. Lots of trips and activities, friendly people. This is my second visit and I would highly recommend itGuest review byGailItaly
