We recently stayed at Hotel di Varese. The hotel is at a good location (near the historical area). The hotel is very pleasant - it’s clean, the food is good and the service is excellent! The entire stuff was extremely kind and nice. They were available 24/7 to our needs, and helped with patience to every question we asked. The stuff was wonderful! We want to thank Aloisia, Samueve, Angelica, Nicholas and Arianna. We would also like to say a good word about Giusy who works at the breakfast buffet. She was super nice, gave us excellent and quick service. The entirety of the stuff was very responsive to EVERYTHING we asked. They went above and beyond to assist us and make our stay the best it can possibly be. My family and I highly recommend staying at Hotel di Varese!

Our host met us near the albergo and directed us to the secure parking area then helped take our bags to the lift which carried us to the first floor. We had lunch at the restaurant and ate there every day we were in Varese as the food was so good. I wish we could have stayed there for another week. Varese would be a good base to explore the Italian lakes. As it was, there was plenty to do, including the walk to Sacro Monte, 2kms of winding path past 14 glorious little chapels with views on every side. It would be worth doing the walk over a weekend as there is a museum at the top of the hill which looked very interesting but it's only open on Saturdays and Sundays.

Location and view are superb. All staff are friendly, helpful and genuinely nice. Breakfast was delightful. Dinner exceptional. Very clean pool in lovely environs. Would stay an extra week if they had room, but we will certainly be back. A wonderful place to escape from the world.

Villa Cagnola is not in Varese but 6 kms outside the town.

Villa Cagnola is not in Varese but 6 kms outside the town. If you are just passing through on an overnight stop then you need time to see the city. We walked to the nearest restaurant and had a very good dinner, beautifully served. This was in Gazzada.

Good location as a base to other towns and even to Lake...

Good location as a base to other towns and even to Lake Magiorre and Como. However the forest reserve Campo dei Fiori is a great place for hiking. Lots of hiking trails of various difficulty, and the views are amazing. Lake Varese is beautiful too, with a decent amount of walking and bike tracks around the lake.

We traveled with our little dog throughout Europe but the staff at Varese made us feel at home and fell in love with our dog named Leonardo which opened up our hearts for the staff and the hotel. We were just minutes away from visiting the famous "Villa Panza" and the famous collection of many of his Arts. Wonderful shopping experience just down the street and yet the hotel was secluded and private.

The older part of town and the area by the lake are walkable and charming. The residents are friendly, and the area is not very touristy. The weather was fabulous. One can walk from town directly to hiking trails.

Comerio was a delightful surprise.

Comerio was a delightful surprise. The small village/town was so alive. It felt like a village of a thousand concerts. During our stay. We heard such pleasant music all over. There is a pizza place there in upper part of town, that is just mind melting. They were fully booked, but offered to squeeze us in, if we could leave before rush hour. The service was so quick, that it was easy.

a wonderful place with so much to do - the sacre monte, lots...

a wonderful place with so much to do - the sacre monte, lots and lots of historic gardens, in walking distance the Villa Panza with amazing art and gardens - have lunch there it is fabulous. Also just staying by the pool with its views is amazing it's a shame it closes it 7pm - it really warrants longer hours.
