Torino is a great city for everything - sightseeing, food, cultural experiences, etc. As I have already submitted a review of Torino, in order not to repeat the same things, I will write about our visits to Genova and Novara. Genova is situated to the south of Torino - two hours by train. We went there to visit the Aquarium, and we weren't disappointed. However, apart from that, I wouldn't recommend it as it reminds me of Napoli - polluted, dirty, too many immigrants, not much to see. If I have to give it a rating 10/10 for Torino and 7/10 for Genova. I could add one mark for the famous Pesto Genovese, which you can purchase anywhere in the world. For a much better experience, I would recommend visiting Novara. Situated to the east of Torino - one hour by train (in the direction of Milano), you will find there the famous Basilica di San Gaudenzio, and more precisely, the Cupola (the dome). At 121 metres tall, it is one of the tallest domes in the world. More importantly, tourists can book a climb of the cupola (up to 100 metres), which is a once in a lifetime experience. Although not as big as Torino, Novar, for me, is much better city to visit than Genova.Guest review byPeter DTBulgaria - 10.0
Magnificent duomo/cathedral. Del Campo was amazing.
Magnificent duomo/cathedral. Del Campo was amazing. Interesting walks around the old town. Did a winery day trip to region close by. Many choices of restaurants with great food. Also shopped in local stores so we could do some of our own cooking.Guest review byMonicaAustralia - 10.0

Travelling from Rome, we made La Spezia our base to launch into the Cinque Terre. Fiume269 was just 10-min walk away from the main train station to travel to the 5 towns. Buses from near our stay take you easily to La Spezia's main attractions.Guest review byRobin GomesItaly - 10.0

We heard about Lucca from some people when we were in a restaurant in Pisa. We decided to visit because of their enthusiasm and because it was not very far by train. We were very impressed by Lucca's attractions and the local were friendly and helpful. There are areas other than the old town with it's usual tourists traps that are worth exploring.Guest review byMartin0007United Kingdom - 6.0
Really enjoyed, beautiful. Very walkable.
Really enjoyed, beautiful. Very walkable. No police presence. Did not enjoy groups of 25-40 young men running around fighting. Everyone ran from the mercardo in fear when they started fighting with mask and wine bottles.Guest review byDcinnvUnited States - 10.0

We went to several walled cities on our few days in Tuscany. San G was our absolute favorite. Very clean and the food was amazing. Be prepared to walk a lot up hill, but that's the same with any Tuscany walled city.Guest review byDeborahUnited States - 10.0

Loved how interesting Aosta was - Roman Ruins and a lot of history plus great bar & restaurant choices & friendly locals. Very busy each evening when everyone takes an aperitivo & a stroll & easy to get to by coach from Turin. Easy access to other towns & ski resorts in the Aosta Valley too. Also very reasonably priced compared to England.Guest review byClaireUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A beautiful village that reflects Tuscany well and has beautiful views from the various viewpoints. We went in September and although there were other visitors, there was no congestion that would interfere with enjoying the trip.Guest review bynirIsrael - 8.0
A very attractive town.
A very attractive town. The beaches are superb, but unless you head out of town you need to go into a beach club. There are no free access beaches in town. Some hotels have an arrangement with a beach club for free or discounted access for guests, so it is worth checking this if you intend to use the beaches. It can cost typically EUR30-40 for 2 chairs, a sunbed and an umbrella. They don't offer reduced rates until 3-4pm. That will add up after a few days. The restaurants are OK but nothing special. Most of them serve the same food, which can get boring. We ate in our hotel restaurant more than we usually would, but the quality and variety of food on offer was better than any outside restaurant we tried. Apart from the beach, shops and walking up and down the promenade, there is not much to actually do in Viarregio, so you may want to get out on some day trips. Pisa and Luca are accessible by train, although we found them both to be disappointing (especially Luca - what a dump!). We found the train service a bit hit and miss, although it is cheap. Consider hiring a car if you plan to get out of Viareggio. If you pick up and drop off at the airport, it will also be useful for airport transfers.Guest review byFarnboUnited Kingdom
