The staffs all speak English very well which is better communication. The room is very clean and big for 3 beds. The space was well designed , shower and toilet are separate from the vanity and is newly renovated. It is modern and up to date which is different from standard shower room in most hotels in Japan. Guest can drop the used towels and pick up clean towel anytime by themselves. Internet is good and the pre check in instruction is clear to follow.

Hotel totally in the center of the city. Around a lot of coffee shops, restaurants, shops, markets. I didn't order breakfast but it was not a problem, as around was a lot of places to eat a breakfast or lunch or dinner. Personel very nice, kind and helpful. Houskeeping was every day: fresh towels, coffee, tea. Room very clean. As I am the smoker, I had possibility to smoke in the room. Room very small but it was not a problem at all. Access to the metro station a few meters from the hotel. Recommended.

Amazing, so amazing! The hotel looks like a 5* hotel, and feels like one. The interior is so fancy, I should have booked it for longer duration, considering how easy it is to reach Kyoto from here. It is double the price of a hotel from Kyoto, but the facilities make up for it. I had the Superior Twin Room - Non-Smoking and the view was amazing and I was lucky enough to catch the fountain show at the docks, which can be viewed clearly from the balcony.

Excellent location since just connected to Kyoto station, with all its restaurants and Isetan mall / Porta / Cube mall. Suite room felt dated but the view was grand and the feel was okay. Food during breakfast was good but choices were practically the same everyday. Stayed for 6 nights so it did get boring. They do offer luggage hotel to hotel transfer via Yamato, and they do the booking for you, so this was a plus.

Everything. The hotel is in a great spot close to the train station but not exactly on it. It's only a short walk for Shinkansesn and subway access. The property is well kept and extremely clean. Osaka is great because there are tons of cultural activities and sights available. Plus, it's the culinary nexus of Japan--"the nation's kitchen," as is often said there. Whether it's museums or nightlife, you can find endless things to do. What's more, the people there are some of the kindest and most laid-back in the country. I highly recommend Osaka as a destination.

Kobe being a little smaller than Kyoto and Osaka, seems a little more relaxed. It is close enough to Osaka and Hiroshima to do a day trip and has a lot of unexpected surprises, like waterfalls located 15 minutes walk behind San Kobe station. There are also a number of Ropeways and Cable Cars that take you up to the hiking trails in the mountains behind Kobe. The waterfront area is also very interesting, with an earthquake museum, which details the restoration of the Kobe Harbour after an earthquake, in just 2 years. There is also a nightly light and water show near the Kobe Tower.

Nara is my favorite place in Japan.

Nara is my favorite place in Japan. It has really beautiful natural environment, lovely deer that you can easily see while walking on the street, and very friendly people. It has played a very important role in Japanese history (e.g. Horyuji, Toshodaija, etc. are important world heritage sites), but it does not have that many visitors as Kyoto, which makes traveling in Nara a lot more pleasant than travelling in Kyoto. I highly recommend people to travel to southern part of Nara Prefecture (e.g. Horyuji, Asuka-dera, Tsubosaka-dera, Oka-dera, etc.).

We only stayed one night when we arrived as we needed a place to recharge and freshen up before we head to Kyoto. The hotel is very nice with complete amenities in the room. The room we occupied has the view of the airport runway but we never heard any noise coming from the airplanes arriving and taking off. A bit expensive but it was worth it. Breakfast buffet was very good too.

After staying in Kyoto, it was refreshing to stay in a smaller, quieter city for a couple of days. Himeji, had ample malls and restaurants to satisfy the needs of all tourists and yet has a nice small city feel. We saw the castle in the afternoon, and didn't encounter large crowds. The Koko-en Garden was relatively quiet when we saw it in the morning.

The scenic mountains near the city offers stunning sunset views. The Sakura were in full bloom. There are several parks around the city, and the impressive Wakayama castle. The hotel (Candeo Hotels Nankai) is great value - fantastic river views, rooftop onsen that you can enjoy the sunset. And right at the Wakayama Station. Good dining options around the hotel too.
