Beautiful new boutique hotel on the very quiet Kalkudah Beach. A beautiful setting with gorgeous garden and sea views from every room. Spacious accommodation including a large room and bathroom, and many communal sitting areas. Each room also includes a private terrace or veranda with comfortable furniture. The staff were wonderfully attentive and friendly. The food was excellent, with a special mention to the chef Manoj who created beautifully presented, freshly cooked and most importantly delicious food. He catered each meal to our specific requests and dietary needs. It is a wonderful property to stay and relax. It’s worth noting that there’s nothing to walk out to and the town is a bit of a distance, but you will have a lovely time staying and relaxing at this hotel. The beach itself is stunning, the water is calm, clean and warm and its is fringed by palms. Paradise

The location is great, you can easily reach both beaches by foot. Rooms are modern and big, with a nice balcony overlooking the ocean. AC worked great. Staff is super friendly and helpful. They cooked a great dinner for us and accommodated our request to check out early next day and still managed to prepare us a breakfast. We were only here one night. In hindsight should have stayed longer.

Wonderful experience here. The host was very supportive and kind. He helped me locate a bicycle and personally drove me to the bus station in the early morning. The place is near a great cafe/restaurant and a luxury hotel is close by with a pool you can use. Top spot!

Here for 3 nights but loved it so much, we came back for another 3! Beautiful location by the lagoon. Excellent restaurant with friendly, professional staff and tasty food of good sized portions. Recommend the chicken biriyani! The pool was great and kept our kids entertained for hours. Overall just great customer care especially by Adhil the Resort Manager who did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. So if you need a relaxing break, highly recommend Rivera Resort!! 👌

The great customer service at this hotel impressed me. They were always friendly and asked how our stay was going every time we walked in the door. Spotlessly clean rooms with comfortable beds and Amazing location, close to all the main attractions. Delicious foods with a great variety. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the décor added to the serene, coastal vibe. The bathroom was modern, with all the necessary amenities. One of the highlights of our stay was the swimming pool, which offered a gorgeous view of the beach. It was beautifully maintained and perfect for cooling off after a day in the sun. We spent a relaxing afternoon there, enjoying the peaceful ambiance, the beach view, and the great service by the poolside. We dined at the hotel restaurant several times, and the food was delicious, especially the fresh seafood.     From the moment we arrived at Amaya Beach Pasikuda, we were warmly welcomed, and the check-in process was smooth and efficient. We received our room quickly, and stepping inside, it exceeded all our expectations. The room was spacious and perfectly suited for our family, providing the ideal blend of comfort and style. The location of the hotel is simply stunning. As soon as you step out of the room, you're greeted by the breathtaking view of the beach and the inviting swimming pool. Additionally, the Pasikuda beach bathing area is conveniently located right next to the hotel, offering an even more immersive seaside experience. The dining experience was exceptional. The meals were delicious, with a variety of options that catered to different tastes. The live action stations at the buffet (two or three every meal) added a delightful touch, allowing us to enjoy freshly prepared dishes. The overall location is calm, serene, and absolutely perfect for a relaxing vacation.     I recently stayed in this hotel in Pasikuda, Sri Lanka, which is beautifully located on a clean beach with gentle waves during this season. (September 2024) The hotel rooms were modern and spacious, providing a comfortable stay. They also have a dedicated water sports section that offered exciting Jet Ski rides and a snorkeling trip to the nearby "Kayankerni" Coral Reef for a reasonable additional cost. Snorkeling was an amazing first-time experience for both my wife and me, and it was impressive that even some 5-star hotels do not have a water sports center like this one. The hotel features a large swimming pool with a depth of 9 feet at one end, perfect for a refreshing swim. The location is ideal, with no stones or corals that could hurt your feet while enjoying the beach. Although the hotel manager was not present during our visit, we were warmly greeted by the manager from their sister hotel, who made us feel welcome.

    For our second visit to Passikudah we chose Anantaya Resort and we couldn't have chosen better. From the first moment to the end we were looked after by the friendly staff, especially Rishopana and Kanogitha. We booked this resort for a room with direct access to the pool and we were lucky to get perhaps the nicest room. But what makes this resort special is the people who work here. We also spoke with the friendly beach/pool attendant S. and likewise the waiters and cooks at breakfast and dinner did everything they could to make the guests happy. Excellent Sri Lankan breakfast and dinner. My husband was delighted that the waiters here could spin a beer with a foam cap. The room was very nice and clean. The pool was cleaned regularly too. Free sunbeds on the beach. Beautiful beach and walks. If we had not booked another stay before, we would have stayed longer. We will definitely be back here soon!

    Our time in this hotel was awesome. The hotel staff is very kind and is always smiling when you see them. The food and breakfast was very good. You could always order fresh fruit juices. We were in the End of June and there were not a lot of people staying. So it was really calm and the service was perfect, as well as our room (suite). The beach in front of the hotel was one of the best and cleanest i have ever seen. We went for a walk on the beach to see the beaches of the other hotels there and i just can say in front of the Calm Resort was the best and cleanest beach. Also almost no shells have been there. The water of the sea was warm. I couldn't have imagined it better.

    Excellent Location !! No disturbances on the beach at all !! Very seldom you find something like this for yourself only. Very peaceful and great place to stay !! The Sunny weather and sandy beach was a perfect location for our stay ! We prefer privacy for our stay and which we found at Giman Free Beach Resort. Great staff and free wi fi, great sea food straight from the local fisher folk from the daily catch !! We were told there is traditional Ayurveda treatment at the Resort by our friendly UK guest at the Resort but we did not have time to experience same. We will be back next year !!

    We spent two nights at this resort. Our room was very beautiful and clean, with an extremely spacious bathroom. The resort offers a splendid pool and a beautiful private beach. The presence of few tourists contributed to creating a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. Both breakfast and dinner featured high-quality traditional dishes. The staff was always kind and helpful. A special mention goes to Samante, the restaurant manager, who treated us with great courtesy and attention.

    The garden is beautiful and lovely with a lot of places to sit and hang and escape the heat. One minute walking distance to the beach. The owner is so sweet and helpful and even provided a very cheap breakfast even though it wasn’t originally a possibility. The location is a bit away from the bustling city, giving a much more tranquil experience. There are a few restaurants a kilometer away and the possibility for (cheap) take-away.

These hopper staff who stood out are Lojanan and Suthagaran in house keeping. Reynold Sangeethan and Gajandran in Valet service and Lojan in the Restaurant.

The town is exceptionally clean, surrounded by water, and radiates a serene charm. Pasikudah, in particular, took our breath away. With its pristine beaches and tranquil waters, it’s nothing short of amazing—a true gem on the eastern coast.

    Kalkudah is one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka!

    Kalkudah is one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka! The water here has an amazing emerald colour and it is very clean, transparent. It is a very long and beautiful sandy beach with a free natural spirit, with hardly anyone around. We enjoyed swimming almost all the day! No tourist attractions but some restaurants like Laya Waves are and Swiss Cafe on the shore are the options. Kalkudah works fine for yoga, meditation, walking along, etc. There are some cows and their manure in some spots, but it is better than plastic garbage. Some days the waves were bigger than Passikuda, but no corals on Kalkudah. Comparing to Passikuda we liked Kalkudah much better. Passikuda is over crowded with a long chain of luxury hotels and is not as beautiful. Anyway if anyone is coming with children Passikuda has shallow waters, as well as some tourists attractions. In any case, on Kalkudah one can dig a hole in the sand for children, where the ocean water will come, while making the natural baths that way.

    We had an incredible time in Pasikudah, snorkeling in the clear waters and enjoying the vibrant marine life. The morning, we were greeted by the stunning sunrise, creating the perfect start to our day.     I think the main reason to go to Pasikuda is for the beach...

    I think the main reason to go to Pasikuda is for the beach which is beautiful, with white sand and clear water, and where it is safe to swim. Beyond that there is not much to see - I had the impression the area is quite poor and there are not many restaurants outside the ones in the hotels.
