Beautiful setting! The furniture was lovely and the decoration thoughtful. The plants and pool area were beautiful and peaceful. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was delicious as well - I loved the vegetable curry especially. Not far from galle fort and more. Wish we stayed for more nights.

A fantastic place right by the ocean. The hotel staff, along with the hotel manager and the hotel's four-paw manager, made us feel right at home from the very moment our car pulled up to the entrance. The stay was planned very last minute but still managed to be absolutely perfect! The team was very helpful, friendly and kind. We were greeted with cold lime soda on arrival. Our room was a dream! Spacious, clean, bed was very comfortable. There is a also kitchen equipped with the basic facilities. The view is beautiful, looking over the pool and so many palm trees. It’s not on the beach, so either you walk to Unawatuna Beach (around 30 min) or you can make arrangements with the tuktuk driver that works for the hotel. The location itself is very peaceful and quiet so if you are looking to relax fully, this is the place to be. The pool area was also lovely and clean. Also, three rabbits hopping around was a pleasant surprise :) A short 4-5 min walk leads to the main street where there is a market, bakery, a bit further down a bank. All in all, it was absolutely wonderful and would have loved to stay longer!

From the moment I arrived the staff did an amazing job, nothing was any trouble and always a smile.. add to this an amazing building and decor you have an amazing hotel. I made the mistake of booking a place in the fort for the social aspect that was more expensive and half as nice in every department, probably forgo the 3 nights in the new place and return to Taavetti, you won't regret booking i promise you.

It is wonderful stylish villa as expected. Located in the heart of this historic and iconic city, we enjoyed strolling to see the sunrise and sunset and exploring the beautiful shops. The staff were very nice and helpful. Mr. Azwan arranged a car charter. It was actually trustworthy because the driver is smart enough with a beautiful TOYOTA car. If you have any plan to do that, please ask the hotel they arrange you with a best value.

A quiet, cozy place in the middle of wild nature. Great view from the room. Big beautiful outdoor pool. Clean rooms and everything you need is here. We saw monkeys on palm trees, various birds and a palm squirrel. Cats also live here. Visitors, please feed them! Very good staff, the administrator is excellent, helps in any situation. Great hotel! I will definitely come back here!

    Cocobay Hotel : One Week January 2025 We had a wonderful stay in this fantastic place with its location with a quiet beach, a tropical environment all around, and a top hotel (in its comfort, its services, and especially by all the staff: the reception, the kitchens (excellent dishes), wonderfull room services, Wonderfull restaurant service (smile to Upul), Top managers (thanks dedicated to Buddhika). Without forgetting the precious massage from Vidula, who put my back back in place following a fall down while getting off a Bus :) The kindness, the smiles, the availability and the human exchanges that we were able to have with this Dream Team will remain engraved in our heart. The New Year’s Eve party was exceptionally well-organized, from the stunning decorations and music to the lavish catering, with all praise going to the staff. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the food is excellent, and the beach and pools are clean and well-maintained, with plenty of sun loungers for relaxation.     First off the staff were super friendly and inviting. Smooth check in process and an oil lamp lighting was done before moving into the rooms. Room was super spacious, clean and comfortable with close access to the bar, pool area and beach area. Swimming pool and other facilities such as the gym was well maintained. Staff were always attentive and helpful at all times and in all areas around the property. There was a good spread of food at the buffet and an alternative A la carte menu as well. 100% recommended ✅️

    The location right next to the big and almost empty beach was magnificent. The experience at the spa was great, Prima gave me one of the best massages I’ve ever had and you can tell she has a medical background. If you stay at this hotel, you should definitely get a massage. Chef Heshan and his team made the best meals. Absolutely amazing food! Love this place and I would love to come back.

    The Galle Fort in Galle is my absolute favorite place — it has a vibe of its own. It’s completely safe at any time of the day, even for solo travelers. There’s so much history within the Fort walls to learn about and beautiful architecture to explore. The hosts at the restaurants and hotels inside the Fort are amazing, and the service is truly of international standard. The view of the Indian Ocean from the Ramparts is simply breathtaking. There are plenty of restaurants offering a wide variety of cuisines and dishes to try. Outside the Fort, I highly recommend visiting the beaches at Unawatuna, just a few kilometers from Galle City Centre. While you’re there, don’t miss the Japanese Peace Pagoda at Rumassala — you won’t regret it! Yaddehimulla Road in Unawatuna has everything from surf schools and restaurants to gem shops, gelato spots, international cuisines, and everything in between. For quick bites and essentials, SPAR Supermarket at Galle City Centre is your go-to place. You’ll find tasty rice and curry meals, ready-to-eat options, mosquito repellent, basic medical supplies, snacks, good-quality fruits, and other everyday necessities.

    Property needs full renovation. Staff needs full training. Needs full cleaning. Food so bad (had dinner & so very disappointed) nothing good to say in any aspect of this hotel. My opinion shouldn’t have any stars

    All sea view rooms and the room we stayed in was very spacious . A few minutes walk to jungle beach. The staff was friendly and even made arrangements to get our meals sorted. There is a kitchen and if we bring the raw materials we can even cook on our own , just need to pay them for the space we use. Over all I enjoyed unwatuna because it was conveniently located too.

    We did not venture into Bentota.

    We did not venture into Bentota. We are expats living in Colombo so no need to explore the city. The hotel was at the right spot for a 100% relaxing weekend away with no distractions. The ocean is not that swimmable as the sea was very rough and looked dangerous. The pool was a welcome alternative. We drove to Galle for the Saturday to watch the game between Springboks and Kiwis. That was not too far, one hour away and a very scenic route. The hotel was also fully booked so must be popular.

    I really loved how cozy and clean the hostel was — it felt like home! The staff and owner were super friendly and helpful. The only small thing is that it can get a bit quiet at night, but overall it’s a perfect place to relax.

    A little town which is friendly colourful with plenty of shops for anything you need …only issue is that like every town in Sri Lanka there is a problem with waste ( plastic bottles) There are several resteraunts and lots of lovely cake shops :-) Everything is very cheap ..food , tuk tuk , train ..and clothes are an outstanding bargain to any visitor Overall a lovely place for great holiday

    There are so many locations to see.good peoples are around & very safe are. I like the place & the area.i had great time durig the vacation.I guess that threre is 1km around to the beach & also there is a logoon.i have experience the boat safari at the lake. I wish if i could stay few more days to enjoy.

    Great beach, we felt like Robinson Crusoe on the beach, almost just the 2 of us. Visiting Mahdu Lake at 6 a.m. watching the sun goes up. A natural paradise with a lot of birds and other animals. Listening to their different noises. Dining at the Mangrove Cave Restaurant we enjoyed freshest seafood. It was just very tasty.

    My favourite place was the turtle hatchery.

    My favourite place was the turtle hatchery. Most meals were eaten at the Hotel. Very easy to get around. There is a tour agency opposite the hotel entrance, it cant get any better than that. It is easy to take tuk tuk or van taxis. Superior beach front view. Beautiful gardens and swimming pool. Well done to the management and staff for this top class facility. Local fishermen were easy to approach and social chat with.
