Our stay was really perfect. The hotel was one of the cleanest we had in Sri Lanka, the pool is awesome and invites for relaxed hours. The room and its equipment was also impeccable. We spontaneously prolonged our stay for one more night because we just loved it. Tharindu and the rest of the staff were super attentive and fulfilled every wish. The restaurant was also yummy and the prices were reasonable. They even gave us a free bottle of water for the onward journey. The organization of the full day safari was easy and we got to see elephants and leopards with our guide Dinuka. The guide was also very good as he was very experienced (one time he predicted the exact point of a leopard crossing the road). All in all: If we ever come back to Tissimaharama, we will definitely stay there again!

The property owner has been very helpful and friendly, he took us for a complimentary tuk tuk mini lake safari, we get to see crocodiles in the lake near the property with some beautiful species of birds and bats. On top of that, Wi-Fi was very good for remote work. Over all good value for money. Thank you Gayan!!

We had an amazing stay at Halcyon in Mawella! The hotel is perfectly located – peaceful, with a quiet, clean beach just steps away. The atmosphere is super relaxing, and the pool area is beautiful with plenty of sunbeds, so there’s always a spot to unwind. We ate all our meals at the hotel – breakfast, lunch, and dinner – and every single one was delicious. The food is a wonderful mix of Sri Lankan flavors with some Western touches, fresh and full of taste. The setting is gorgeous and the staff are genuinely friendly, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a laid-back, beautiful spot to enjoy the south coast of Sri Lanka!

The Sea Bay Inn feels like one of a kind. The owner and the complete staff have been so nice and welcoming, it felt like home. The room was new, modern and very clean. We've been able to reach the closest supermarket by foot easily and even walked to the city center. The closest beach to the Sea Bay Inn is just down the road and absolutely beatiful. There are not many spots outside of direct sunshine, but the beach is not very crowded. If you need any travel advice around town the owner will help you swiftly, her son is also available with his TukTuk. All in all a very pleasent stay and we would love to come back!

What made our week’s stay at Lagoon Gate Tangalle Resort truly exceptional was how well looked after we were by Lalith and his family. My friend and I were interested in yoga and exploring, and not only did Lalith connect us with everyone to ensure we had the best possible experiences, from yoga and kayaking to whale and turtle watching, but we got to discover the closely connected local community. Rooms were spacious and spotless, our meals were freshly home-cooked, and there was plenty to see in the tropical grounds. Tangalle is a stunning part of Sri Lanka, and we are grateful that we really got to make the most of it.

The best stay we had in our entire trip around Sri Lanka! Just can’t recommend it enough! Very clean room, big clean bathroom with hot shower and an amazing yard with lake view. We also enjoyed a delicious dinner and breakfast, some of the best meals we had. Lovely host and very attentive with our needs. Hardworking staff - the results are impeccable. Everything ! The place is amazing. It is blended in the nature, the Savannah on one side and Indian Ocean on another. You can feel connected to the nature around you in a really respectful way. As everyone will tell you there : “animals were here first. we are the guests on their land”. Of course, the rooms are beautiful. You will enjoy spending time discovering every little detail of it. What we enjoyed the most was the food and the service The food was amazingly good and it was the best we had in our all trip in Sri Lanka. The Chef has much creativity and has nothing to envy to Michelin restaurants. Also every team member was very kind and thoughtful. The manager offered us a beach dinner on our first evening to celebrate our engagement and we had a surprise cake at the end to celebrate. But all the team members are very kind, efficient, flexible, and they genuinely caring about people. And at the end, that is the thing that matters. Finally but nonetheless, the safari experience was really amazing thanks to our ranger Darshana. It is a life changing experience to enter in this environment where you don’t belong. But what we will also remember is the passion of Darshana for the animals. He is so respectful of the nature around him and so knowledgeable. He is the one who made our experience unforgettable. Thank you to all the staff of Wild tented coast lodge. We hope to visit you again !

Everything with Gems Garden was so amazing! Ruwan & Ishani is now our family away from home♥️♥️We have not met more loving and warm people, running this family business. We had the luxury to spend new years and my birthday with them, and they organized the best party! Except for the amazing family who runs it, Gems Garden is so beautiful! Our cabana was big, clean and comfortable and has a lovely porche. It is so close to the beach and loads of restaurants. We really hope to come back soon again♥️

Despite we visited Anantara Resort in low season everything was perfect. The service was particularity nice, it was very attentive and accurate. We felt very spoiled. Food, considering we are in Srilanka, was delicious. Best breakfast of the country. The territory and the garden are simply stunning, everything is amazingly maintained, the ocean views are for the truly romantics. Gym it’s updated and very spacious. SPA is a 11/10.

Stand-out experience was the boat tour (right from the dock) to the grove of trees on the opposite shore where you can see flying foxes, egrets, herons, ibis, indian darters, parrots, pelicans and crocodiles. The profusion of wildlife is incredible. Go just before sunset.

The owners and staff were delightful - the service great. The cabannes were in the style of my travels 50 years ago and a great reminder of how simple life can (and should) be. For eating there is plenty of choice in the area and all easy walking but not always in 32 deg 😂

Tissamaharama is a fantastic base for anyone looking to explore the natural beauty and rich culture of southern Sri Lanka. It's perfectly located for Yala National Park safaris, offering easy access to incredible wildlife encounters. Beyond the safaris, the town itself has a calm, local vibe with beautiful lakes and ancient temples to discover. You'll find plenty of local restaurants and shops, making it easy to enjoy authentic Sri Lankan experiences. It's a great spot for both adventure and relaxation, and I highly recommend spending some time here!

This place is amazing.

This place is amazing. We stay with our 3 young kids and the staff were so kind and attentive. All of the small details have been thought of and it’s a wonderful experience in nature. Lovely local Sri Lankan are served for each meal.

I LIKED MOST OF THE THINGS THAT WERE ON OFFER AT THE RESORT.IN MY 12 TH TO THE 18 TH YEAR WE AS A FAMILY HAS BEEN HOLIDAYING IN KALAMATIYA GURUPOKUNA ,GUNNOR UWA BUNDALA MEEGAHAJADURA HAMBANTOTA SO IT WAS LIKE COMING HOME FOR US THANK YOU

A great place to stay and would definitely recommend.

A great place to stay and would definitely recommend. Large comfortable room close to the pool, with restaurant and plenty of cold beer. We were very well looked after and nothing was too much trouble. Anyone looking for a visit to the National Park should consider staying at Tringa and booking the tour with them as they will make sure you have a great experience.

Weerawila, located in a dry zone of Sri Lanka, is ideal for wildlife safaris and nature experiences. This location is especially convenient during the rainy season, as it often stays dry even when the rest of the country is experiencing thunderstorms. We chose it specifically to avoid heavy rains.

Tangalle is a mix of typical large commercial local Sri Lankan town buzz combined with touristy beach / restaurant / bar area. Very laid back along that 'strip', many bars and restaurants vying for business so you can be selective.

The owner of Serenity lake advices us to visit Yala safari, Sithul pawwa magul viharaya and sithul pawwa a super history with beautiful scenery, which we did and we're very grateful for his advice. We returned to the serenity lake to have lunch before heading off. Requested for a village kind of lunch with the local veggies and it was served on a lotus leaf... The most delicious meal it was. We had lunch at Reds and at the Serenity lake .

It definitely is an experience worth trying.

It definitely is an experience worth trying. The tree house has all the comforts you need but yet kept on the simple side. Don't expect much and you will get a lot. Nice food Bbq and big fire lit for you in the evening to give you a chance to relax and talk about your day activities. It was great to be left alone and the silence of the night. There were times you just felt that we were the only ones there and when you needed something the staff would magically appear

I don’t recommend Peacock Beach Resort because my experience is so bad treble staff and they don’t care the visitors they at least not gave us drinking water after so many requests TV snd a/c didn’t work 😥😥😥😥😥
