A perfect place to stay for our first night in sri lanka The newly built hotel was beautiful with each bedroom overlooking the palm fringed beach and the ocean. We went for a swim in the sea and strolled along the beach which was really clean.We had supper in the restaurant which was really good.

We really enjoyed staying at this place. Nice and clean bungalows in a calm area, where you can spend some relaxing or working time. The resort has also a restaurant which offers breakfast, lunch & dinner. We recommend a smoothie bowl with a cup of a good coffee for a great start of the day. ☺️ The beach is good for kite surfing, you can get a recommendation for a kite surf lessons from a host. We would definitely spend there more time if we could. Thank you!

The location is very close to the National Park. It is only about 8 minutes by Tuk-Tuk which they kindly organised for both our safaris. Leopard Inn arranged our tour of Wilpattu National Park at a reasonable price and our onward transport. Prathap could not have been more attentive even giving us cushions for our comfort on our safari. Everything was clean, comfortable and worked as it should. The accommodations that we chose were self contained cabins beside a river. Opposite there is some building work at the moment but it did not disturb our peace. We had a take away breakfast which was adequate. The pools are tiny plunge pools and very refreshing after a day's safari

The owner and her family are such warm people that made us feel truly welcome. The food at the hotel was great! The hotel itself was close to the park, and had a very zen feel. The hotel has only been open for 3 months so everything was brand new. We booked a safari with the hotel and this was great as well, with an amazing breakfast to go. We would recommend it to everyone!

This is quite simply an exceptional hotel, made so not only by our beautiful room and the surroundings, but by Mark and the team of people who made our stay so special. This is one we will always remember for being unique and idylic. Our kayak on the lake with Ravi was fantastic and Ravi's knowledge about the wildlife was exceptional. The whole team were there at 4.30am to ensure we had everything we could possibly ask for before our early morning safari. I can not praise our stay highly enough and we would have loved to have stayed for longer. Thank you Mark and everyone who made our stay so very perfect.

This place is a true little paradise! Martinez and his colleague looked after us very well, kindly upgrading us to a bigger bungalow with a kitchen as we were the only guests. The bungalow was perfectly clean and so were the pool and the rest of the grounds. The location is great with the property being right by the beach. We were even allowed to cut some coconuts out of the trees and enjoy fresh coconut water. They have a cook that can you provide you with meals, one evening we ordered a fish BBQ at the beach, which was fantastic! We can highly recommend Nayan’s Paradise!

We had a wonderful stay at Raalmadu Wilpattu. The safari experience was absolutely amazing, and the natural surroundings made it truly special. The hotel manager, Kuma, took excellent care of us and always made sure we felt welcome and looked after. The room was simple and rustic, but that’s exactly what you would expect in the middle of the jungle — it added to the charm and authentic feeling of the place. The only small downside was that the private pool next to our room wasn’t usable at the time. However, they are currently building a larger pool, and we are sure it will be fantastic once it’s finished. Overall, we can highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique jungle experience with warm hospitality and unforgettable safaris!

    What makes our experience in new country memorable? Nature? Food? People ! We had fantastic time in Club Hotel Dolphin! The ocean, sunsets and sunrises, away from the crowds and hotel STAFF ! The friendliest, warm-hearted and sincere people I’ve met. Massage therapists are great! Love Balinese massage technique. Try it once you are there! Dolphin resort had impeccable service and support from the staff, who were alwyas courteous and ready to help at all times. The food service had a good variety and all the flavors were on point. The facilities were great and up to date, prompting a wonderful stay. I’d recommend this resort to everyone who would like to enjoy beautiful Sri Lankan beach and weather in a comfortable resort, and reach utmost relaxation.     The hotel is great, clean and spacious, located just by the kitesurfing beach so it is perfect for kitesurfers. There are beautiful trees and palm trees in the surrounding garden, big swimming pool and very kind staff. We were more than happy to stay there and regretted we couldn't stay longer. The restaurant offers very tasty food for good price. I only regret that Sri Lankan people don't support local dogs that wander in the area, scared of humans and terribly hungry. If there was a special fund to support the animals I would definitely pay more for our stay so that the dogs can get fed. Apart from that we loved our stay and we will definitely be back! The place in our opinion is better than Kitesurfing Lanka that is next door.

    Everything. The place, the rooms, the pool, the availability of Ayurvedic treatments and sport facilities. The food was really amazing. You have real typical Sri Lankan food but also more occidental ones if not fan of spices. It’s impossible to not find something delicious to eat. The staff is extremely kind. We came here 13 years ago and this year we came back for our anniversary. They made our stay even more special with a cake and we found in our room sweets and fruits. Club Palm Bay is a place that we recommend for the wonderful comfort and gentle and experienced staff you will find. It’s a place to enjoy and relax accompanied by extreme care towards the guests. Thank you again! It’s a promise that we will come back.

    I really enjoyed my stay. The wooden bungalows are very rustic and cozy, with open roofing and an outdoor shower. The garden is well-maintained too. The school has a WhatsApp group where they share information about lesson planning, wind conditions, and activities, which I found really well-organized. Dinners are served with all the guests at the kite center, which was just 5 minutes away by bike. Safran was my instructor. He is very experienced and teaches in a great way—always calm, helpful, and full of good advice. I made great progress thanks to him. I felt like in a kitesurf community . Thanks a lot to Safran and all the Margarita staff!

    Hotel was right on the beach. We could swim in the pool and in the sea. Lovely comfortable and spacious room. Beautifully decorated. Indoor and outdoor showers were great. Food was exceptional in fact up with the best we've ever had. Service and staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. Dolphin trip was fun and exhilarating even though we didn't see any dolphins due to bad weather.

    Perfect stay at the Karanukarala Ayurveda resort, especially the Ayurveda treatment was wonderful. In the beginning, the crew told me it was fully booked, but in the end, they managed to schedule it for me. The room was big, and really clean and the beds were very comfortable. I enjoyed my stay there, especially to relax (recommend the yoga and meditation classes).

    This is one of the largest national parks in Sri Lanka, and...

    This is one of the largest national parks in Sri Lanka, and it has the highest leopard density. But please don't just go and do the usual leopard watching, it gets crowded. Talk to your tour guide or hotel and do some of the less-travelled routes inside the park, and you will enjoy the nature of Sri Lanka on a whole other level. You might not see any big mammals, but you will understand and enjoy the nature, history and biodiversity. If you are going, spend one day doing the usual "touristy" route, then spend the rest of your time exploring the less-travelled routes. There is magic in these jungles. Go find it!

    Kalpitiya is an enchanting destination.

    Kalpitiya is an enchanting destination. It's the only place in Sri Lanka where you can take kitesurfing lessons and safely practice kitesurfing with expert assistance from seasoned local kitesufers. Although it's generally considered an arid landscape, even in August, one of the driest months in Sri Lanka, it was largely green and without sweltering heat. Probably, the strong wind causes the heat to dissipate. There's a long stretch of fairly clean beach to explore. Many hotels to stay in and many restaurants to dine at. If you take the train from the Colombo fort railway station like me, you can get down at Palaviya station and walk about 100 metres to reach the road leading from Palaviya to Kalpitiya and take a bus from there and then get down at either Kurinjipitiya or Kalpitiya depending on where you plan to visit and/or stay in. Apart from Kitesurfing, you can go sightseeing, see dolphins, bask in the sunshine, take boat tours, cycle and more in Kalpitiya.

    The Manager of the hotel and his staff (including 3 dogs and a cat) are above any praise. If you seek for a well organized place to rest without problems do come to Puetz Travels Beach Resort. Mr. Marcus will make your trip a real holyday. Even wild crocodiles that live in the nearby river dream to move to the magic canals of Puetz Travels Beach Resort. I wish i were among the lucky ones.     it is my ancestral hometown.

    it is my ancestral hometown. I visited Katuneriya in order to find my long-lost friends from childhood and to find survivors of deceased relations. I also discovered most of the by lanes towards seaside have become narrower due to encroachments and descendants of my relatives have migrated to Italy. Many large villas built over the years, resembling Italian houses lying empty. most of the households have better living standards and few people are engaged in fishing.

    Wilpattu is an absolutely stunning place close to the reserve. That tents have everything that you need that is good shower is good. The barbecue in the evening is really nice and the surroundings stunning. The staff is super helpful and will go out of their way to accommodate you. We booked a Safari through the accommodation and the Driver and spotter were excellent !

    We planed our trip for three days. There are several places to visit in Kalpitiya. We went to Kalpitiya Dutch fort, also Kalpitiya Dutch church. St. Anne's National Shrine is located nearby. It is known as Thalawila Church too. No matter what religion you follow, St. Anne’s Church in Thalawila is one of the most ancient and wonderful of all Christian shrines in Sri Lanka. Our third day was very exiting because we planned a boat ride to Baththalangunduwa island. Baththalangunduwa is an island off the northwestern coast of Sri Lanka, reachable from Kalpitiya. The boat ride from Kalpitiya is roughly 32 kilometers long and takes approximately 3.5 hours. Camping on this island is becoming increasingly popular among local tourists.
