She ( driver ) picked me up at the airport very punctually, just in ten minutes. ( I don't know why and was surprised that she recognized me at a glance among many waiting tourists, in spite that we have never met before. ) Although I checked in the hotel late at 22:30pm, they gave me a welcome coffee and delivered me to the airport at 5:00am in the very early morning next day. ( Also, they were so kind even to make breakfast at 4:40a.m. only for me. ) The room was very large and very clean and very comfortable with cable TV and a big bottle of mineral water. Their price was pretty reasonable, and it was worth more than for transit. ( I wanted to stay more in their hotel. ) The staffs ( two ladies ) were very kind and well cared for me. The apartment was beautifully decorated. But I was just there for an overnight (16 hour layover!), so I did not have time to explore the apartment more. My favorite spot was the bathroom. The shower was great - beautiful to look at, water the perfect temperature. This apartment is close to the airport (7 min drive by car or taxi). We found it to be spacious and comfortable, with plenty of beds and couches for our family. We enjoyed a couple of days in Casablanca doing our own thing. It was easy to walk around the key sites and we had a guided tour inside of the Hassan II Mosque. (We like Lonely Planet Guides and used this all over Morocco including Casablanca). After time spent inland it was nice to be by the coast and experience a few degrees lower temperatures. Casablanca does not have the old Medina's like Fez, Marrakesh and Rabat and there are less tourist/souvenir type shops so if you are after artisanal products both Fez and Marrakesh are better for that. We travelled to Casablanca on the train from Fez, it was excellent, we also travelled to Tangier, Rabat and back to Casablanca on the train. All tickets were easily bought online through Rail Ninja (via the Moroccan Train website). Trains ran on time and were quite comfortable (with varying quality of Airconditioning!) First class tickets were not a lot more expensive than regular tickets and worth the extra.Guest review byJFRehrAustralia
