- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 403 reviewsMy husband and I recently had the most incredible stay at Lakaz Chamarel! From start to finish, the experience was simply exceptional. The service provided by the staff was beyond compare, and their genuine warmth and attentiveness made us feel truly valued as guests. The moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm smile and a refreshing drink. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our stay was perfect. Whether it was recommending local attractions or fulfilling any request, they were always there with a solution and a genuine desire to make our stay memorable. The hotel itself was a true paradise. Surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty, it offered a serene and tranquil environment that was perfect for relaxation. The attention to detail in the design and decor of the rooms and common areas was impeccable. Each room was beautifully appointed, providing a luxurious and comfortable sanctuary to unwind after a day of exploration. One of the highlights of my stay was the exceptional dining experience at Lakaz Chamarel. The culinary team showcased their talent and creativity through a diverse range of delectable dishes. From the breakfast spread to the exquisite dinner options, each meal was a delightful journey for the senses. The flavors, presentation, and attention to dietary preferences were all exemplary. The hotel's commitment to sustainability and its integration with the surrounding nature was truly admirable. The eco-friendly initiatives in place, and the preservation of the local ecosystem, showcased a genuine dedication to the environment. I wholeheartedly recommend Lakaz Chamarel to anyone seeking an unforgettable getaway. It's a place where luxury, tranquility, and impeccable service come together to create a truly magical experience. We can't wait to return and create more beautiful memories in this paradise.Guest review byJosianeItaly
- From US$663.05 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 507 reviewsHotel is placed at very beautiful location, just at the beach with a view to the mountains. It is very calm, quiet place. All hotel employees pay big attention to the guests, being very nice and respectful. Room service is cleaning the rooms couple of times per day (also during time to close the blinds and fill in water bottle). Food is very very good with huge selection of buffet for breakfast and dinner. It is really good quality and tasty food in unlimited amounts. There is adult only heated infinity pool - amazing spot to enjoy the sunset, staff can bring you drinks while you are inside of the pool. There are plenty of water sports available for free - kayaks, SUP, snorkelling, windsurfing, sailing. Staff is very helpful and supporting and can teach you a bit of those activities if it is your first time. Compared to other hotels it is very good value and quality for money.Guest review byEwaPoland
- From US$428.60 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.9Good - What previous guests thought, 257 reviewsI will rate the service 10/10. The staffs provide such an amazing service that for the first time of my life, I didn't have a complain, my husband was astonished too by the service. The staff was very nice to my parents, to myself, the reason Im stating this is because we are Mauritian and sometime because of being local, most hotel staffs tends to forget that we are paying for the same service as a foreign tourist and lack to give the local the proper service. I paid for one night and extend for a second night. Value for money. The place is clean and they really accommodate for your needs. The staffs at the restaurant will watch every step, clean your table or plate, pull the chair for you to sit, without asking, and help you to carry plates. The Spa was also a wonderful experience. I took the beach front view, is where you get the best view of the resto, beachGuest review byTaylorAustralia
- From US$822.50 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 761 reviewsWe spent our honeymoon at the Sugar Beach Mauritius. To put it all into one sentence: we could not have made a better choice and are soo happy and thankful for the amazing experience we had there. Everything about this hotel is exceptional: the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the great variety and perfect quality of the food, the fantastic location at the beautiful paradise-like beach, the furnishing and amenities of the room, the beautiful sea view… What we were especially pleased with is that we did not book the special honeymoon package on the hotel’s website. We only told the reception about our special occasion a few weeks prior to our arrival via the chat. Nevertheless we received all the wonderful special gifts that come with the honeymoon package. Thank you very much!! we could have stayed forever and will definitely come back in the future.Guest review byMalteGermany

Also, the facilities such as the gym, bikes to rent, spa, beach, tennis court were all perfect and not crowded. We also enjoyed the breakfasts as there was an amazing selection as well as Mauritian options which introduced us to local culture.Guest review byIaroslavaNetherlands

Walking on the beach was fun, and the water allowed easy swimming even for the not-so-strong swimmer. The food carts added restaurant variety. We had good meals at Bouganvillea and Chez Pepe, but also enjoyed eating in and watching the sunset. Lovely shopping, interesting people, and the public bus service worked for us. However, it was interesting that the same trip was free outbound and then cost 100 rupees (3 people) for the return trip (with no tickets issued).Guest review byDivyaSouth Africa - 10.0

Tu beach is just amazing, the color of the water is impressive, in the public beach you have to possibility to see the see turtles. The place is a piece of paradise. Definitely worth to go and to spend some time there. I would recommend an hotel next to the le Morne beach most of the hotel do not have the possibility to eat or rent the sun bed just daily. Also I would recommend the experience of swimming with the dolphins that is offered almost everywhere.Guest review byAnnaItaly - 8.0

We liked the area close to the Riviere Noire Reserve and it was convenient for the quieter beaches on the south coast. We recommend a guided tour of the Ebony Forest Reserve. We had a fascinating day out with a very knowledgeable guide and saw a lot of birdlife; the views out to sea are also stunning. Be warned: driving in Mauritius is not easy, even with satnav! We got lost several times, especially around Port Louis. If you choose to go to Port Louis, we recommend using the local bus. There is a bus stop two minutes' walk from the apartment (shortly before London Way supermarket). You can pick up a bus at about 7.30 am and return on a 119 bus at 30 minutes past the hour from Immigration Square near the waterfront of Port Louis. If you want to eat out, the Happy Rajah restaurant on the main road serves good value Indian food. The fish thali is particularly tasty.Guest review byVirginiaItaly - 10.0

It's a properly rustic paradise area, away from the more fabricated hotel resorts. Lots of locals who know one another and it feels safe, if a little rough around the edges. It has its own cultural and geographical charm that seems to differentiate it from other parts of Mauritius. Lots of places to eat, a good supermarket - seems expensive for the area, but I think this is quite common. Good offers of boat hire to get over to Ile aux Benitiers, which is well worth it. Close proximity to the lovely Morne peninsular and Black River Gorges National Park and surrounds.Guest review byPaulUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Sure La Preneuse is the nearest beach, though If you're looking for the best beaches around, take that trip to Le Morne beach, it's worth it. We went to the only Thai restaurant in the area,'Ousaporn', indeed an oasis in that small town, great Deco, felt right, the staffs were admirable, the food was succulent but portion were quite small disproportionately over-priced . A day at the beach at Flic en flac is worth the tour, watch the sun set into the deep sea, then hit one of the restaurant around the area.Guest review byYogeshSpain - 10.0

this is amazing place, the view is breathtaking, the chalet is spacious, very calm, the food is satisfying and the staff is very supportive and helping. it is ideal for a short stay as if you would like to do more tours the location is bit far from everything and very challenging to reach. the best is to stay there and visit the nearby places around Chamarel.Guest review byDragicaUnited Arab Emirates - 8.0

Albion is a Mauritian village , located on the West Coast off the beaten track & away from the tourist holiday hot spots. There is a local palm shaded beach with toilets & changing facilities, to enjoy safe swimming & magnificent sunsets. Food & other supplies are available at the local Albion Mall Dodo Supermarket Living with the local Mauritians enhanced our holiday experience as we got the know some of these friendly and gentle people. You will need a hire car and Google Maps to get aroundGuest review byPeterSouth Africa - 10.0

Flic'en'Flac is the best place to stay on Mauritius, especially if you're visiting Mauritius in July. North was windy, south rainy but west side just perfect. It is a nice, vaste sandy beach with pine trees and palm trees, nice hotels and resorts, bars, restaurants and street food.Guest review byAndrijaCroatia - 2.0
Financial exploitation is the title of this hotel.
Financial exploitation is the title of this hotel. Financial exploitation defines the taxi drivers. Financial exploitation dominates the boat rental services. Financial exploitation extends even to the zoo. Exploitation is the main theme, and as a city, it offers nothing enjoyable.Guest review byMohamed Zaher - 10.0
