- From US$728.44 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 685 reviewsA wonderful island! It was not our first time on the island. Ten years ago, we liked it so much that we decided to come back. And how pleasantly we were surprised to see the completely renewed island. First of all, I would like to mention the staff of the island and say many thanks to the management and administration. The care and attention with which they treated our requests and solved our problems (especially the payment) gives an unforgettable impression of the quality of the island and its uniqueness. In fact, the island is really big (by Maldivian standards). And there are a lot of staff departments on it. But there are no crowds of people. And everyone is very kind, attentive, ready to help and solve any difficulties. Secondly, it's worth mentioning the food. There is a lot of food. And it is so delicious and varied that you want to try everything. In 8 days, not a single dinner was repeated once. Every day the chef and his team developed themed dinners of different countries, treating guests with French, American, Mexican, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Russian and even Moroccan cuisine. There are also wild places on the island - specially created eco-trails, walking on which you can feel yourself in a real jungle. Moreover, every tree and bush on the trail are signed, so you can learn all about the plants of the Maldives. And of course, the sandy bank! At low tide it is possible to go so far into the ocean that the island becomes almost invisible and you feel like a discoverer. The rooms are clean. Housekeeping is done twice a day, and the cleaners try to come at a time when you're definitely not at home so as not to disturb you. Over a couple of days, they adjust to the schedule of almost every bungalow, so we saw our own housekeeper only a couple of times, but the room was always clean, tidy and smelled good. We will definitely be back to Kuramathi Island!Guest review byMayyaRussia
- From US$583.14 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 393 reviewsWe loved Hotel Embudu Village Resort Maldives! Location was great, not far from Male Airport, about 25 minutes by private speedboat. At arrival we were looked after by the very capable reception team of the resort, namely by their knowledgably member Mr. Haaid. Two other remarkable members were Mr. Pushpa and Mr. Dennis who were able to inform and guide us when needed throughout our stay. They made Check-in easy, and our room was at the edge of the beautiful ocean. This Island is perfect for snorkeling, the island has lots of coral., you can experience swimming with Nemos’, sharks, turtles and many beautiful fish. In the evening, just standing at the Pier (main entrance village) you can see the fish at nighttime. There is a Diving school on the Island, here you can rent all your snorkeling equipment starting from $10 USD per item per day. There is a restaurant, where we were able to have fresh coconut juice straight from the coconut every day and ate the pulp of it. The staff provided lots of useful information about the Maldives Islands. Housekeeping checked the room daily if we requested and Mr. Ibrahim did a great job. The room was spotless every time. He made sure that we had everything we needed. Breakfast buffet had fresh fruits, smoothies, pastries and many variations, something for everyone (even lactose free). Thanks to the Head Chef we got a carton of Lactose free milk to take back to our room. The dinner in the restaurant was extremely delicious, good taste and you really finished your plate. Mr. Samad was taking care of us. The kitchen staff (Head Chef and his great team) were fantastic! The most impeccable part of our stay was the entire staff's hospitality, which was A1 and made our stay a very memorable happening. We highly recommend this hotel with their most respected teams of operations.Guest review bySabyNetherlands
- From US$610 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 236 reviewsAdaaran Club Rannalhi is a perfect destination for relaxation & heavenly stay for couples in Maldives. This resort is designed in such a way that every one can get comfort and entertainment. Their staffs are so cordial (reception, restaurant, bar everywhere). Throughout our stay, every interaction with the staff was a delight. I must mention the name of Mr ARUNA, who helped us during check-in and provided sufficient information about the island. The food was awesome, sitting arrangement in main bar was beautiful - one can enjoy the view of sea while drinking their favourite beverages and delicious food. They have a beach volleyball court too which is enjoyable. From the Water Bunglow, the sunset view was astonishing. This was one of the place from where i didn't want to leave. At the end, a beautiful gesture shown by Mr ARUNA and hotel staffs by waiving a Flag stating "Good Bye, See you Again", when we were leaving from the island. Highly recommended to get the experience of this island once in lifetime.Guest review byChandankr7Malaysia

The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating and easy to reach. We went on our honeymoon and stayed in the jacuzzi water villas and we definitely recommend it for any holiday. We even saw dolphins on the cruise and went snorkelling for our first time…it was incredible. Our time there flew buy. I only stayed overnight in Male and, in general, it was enough. Simply passing though to get my flight home. As expected the city is noisy, busy and hectic. Wow the contrast from the laid-back, easygoing atol where I was based for the holiday. However, I still quite enjoyed it. The guy from the diving company arranged a tour guide for me whose policy was that I pay him what I thought his time was worth. I got to experience the traffic from a scooter (quite scary to begin with) was taken to the market and given lots of free samples of local foods to try and had visits to all the important sites in three brilliant hours. He also introduced me to a wonderful restaurant - The Seagull Cafe- where I visited another twice before leaving the food and the coffee were so good.Guest review byJamesUnited Kingdom - 10.0

One of the most beautiful places in the world. Wherever you look, you'll find postcard worthy landscape. The ocean was very clean, ideal for snorkling and apparently it was a good spot for surfing as well. All in all, a must see.Guest review byÁkosHungary - 10.0

Maafushi is, overall, a great place – the people are friendly and welcoming. The weak point is definitely the services. When it comes to hotels, don’t expect luxury. In my opinion, for what you actually get, it’s overpriced. One big plus is that Maafushi gives you more freedom. You’re not tied to a resort – you can move around, explore, go jogging if you want, and enjoy the island on your own terms. You can book trips easily, there’s stuff to do, and it doesn’t feel restrictive.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

Hulhumale despite being busy like the rest of Male has an airy feel to it with lots of greenery - almost colonial. The East side is quiet for traffic although it's close to the seaplane flight paths - I didn't find that intrusive. The West side has the harbour with the ferry terminal and where the liveaboards anchor between trips. When I was there there had been a lot of recent building work so I would avoid staying there. Lots of options for buying fresh fruit and vegentables if you need and a range of places to eat at different price ranges.Guest review byNigelUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I loved the proximity to Male for ease of arrival and departure. I also loved looking at the city lights from afar, whilst being separated by stunningly turquoise waters and the gentle sounds of lapping waves. The marine life in the lagoon was plentiful and beautiful, and I had many marine visitors near my villa at all hours of the day. The snorkelling with sharks-excursion was probably the single best experience, but the resort itself was the star of the whole experience. The quality of the villa (amazing bed, wonderful toiletries from L'Occitane, the view, the constant refill of free fresh water and Nespresso coffee) and the rest of the resort (amazing food, world-class spa) was the stuff of holiday dreams!Guest review byInaNorway - 10.0
We LOVED Dhiffushi!
We LOVED Dhiffushi! A real taste of a local island, the thing that struck us was how quiet and peaceful it was. We wandered everywhere on foot and loved that the roads are all sand. We were there in monsoon season and experienced some storms but they were short and everyone just gets on with stuff. There was some rubbish washed up on the non-hotel beach areas but most hotels keep their areas spotless. Both bikini beaches were absolutely stunning. Would definitely recommend Dhiffushi as a real gem of a local island. As an added bonus, we could not believe how cheap everything was too!Guest review byClannyUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The people that work there in the island are very genuine and polite and helpful, always smiling. They make your time there very pleasant. Don’t forget to tip them. We liked almost everything. Our vacation was relaxing and beautiful. The beach was perfect, with soft almost white sand and warm, clear blue water. The bungalow was was really cozy with sun set view. Snorkeling we saw sharks, turtles, so many amazing small fishes. And they were almost near our place. We had wonderful neighbors and made new friendships.Guest review byDaniela AntonovaSpain - 10.0

An amazing snorkelling beach -no boats or travel required -just thousands of colourful fish and turtles, perfect white sand and palm trees. The concession stand sold delicious, fresh-picked fruit-watermelon, papaya, bananas. We loved the Coccoa beach restaurant and the Black Anchor and the Mango House had fabulous lattes and desserts.Guest review byMaureenCanada - 10.0
Dhigurah is a beautiful island with a long sandy beach,...
Dhigurah is a beautiful island with a long sandy beach, without sunbeds and umbrellas, the palm trees lining the island will provide you with sufficient shade. At the end of the island there is a sandbank, which can be reached by walking, cycling or scooter through the tropical forest. There are several shops with groceries, souvenirs and restaurants on the island. There is a lot of accommodation in different places on the island with quality services. The local people are smiling and friendly. There is a hospital, a police station, the Maldivian office and mosques on the island. Waste from the island is taken to the forest, where it is burned in the afternoon, we only felt the smoke from the waste when there was a strong wind. You can get to the island from the airport by speedboat, the journey takes about two hours, if you suffer from nausea, I recommend taking anti-nausea medicine, you will definitely need it when the waves are bigger. There is a coral reef around the island, you can see many colorful fish, we were lucky to see a turtle and a small shark. There are resorts on the surrounding atolls, to which seaplanes fly daily. What we didn't like on the island is the massive construction of new accommodation facilities, I'm afraid that in a short time, there will be more tourists on the island than locals and the island will lose its authenticity and beauty.Guest review byHanaCzech Republic
