- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,290 reviewsWe spent a wonderful holiday week at Pulau Perhentian Besar at amazing Cozy Challets. The owner-family are just so friendly, helpful, professional and funny! They create a very special atmosphere around the service they provide. Miss Yang and the sons, especially Adam and Ivan that I got to know better, are very special and kind and they surely know their business! Also other staff, like Moto (not sure about spelling😊) were as great with their calm and friendly way of treating customers. The food! We did almost the whole menu with great pleasure. The Chef knows her way around! She cooked us the whole suite of Asian cuisine with all authentic flavors and spices. So good – especially the curry! The BBQ was also set every evening with fish and shrimps of your choise and naturally chicken satays with peanut sauce. And not to mention nasi and mee gorengs! Sticky coconut and mango rice topped the culinary experience! And what was best, at dinner time, the Cozy expanded the restaurant to the beach, and it was the most pleasant environment to have dinner after hot day! The accommodation is basic, as was known, but very functional! Aircon worked well and hot shower was if needed. The views from the balconies mostly include a sea view – some more direct and some with the glimpse. The rooms are clean, and the additional cleaning could be asked before 10 am. Naturally there are some insect intrusions now and again but living in these surroundings, it cannot be avoided. When in Rome as they say... The monkeys (dusked leaf monkey) came to visit few times and flying foxes (fruit bats) visited every evening at dusk. We were also extremely lucky to experience Sunda flying lemur (Galeopterus variegatus) landing just 1,5 meters away from my chair to the next cabin´s roof... it was heavy landing and after climbing to the roof top, it glided to the fig-tree next to us. Other services including Malaysian traditional massage and snorkeling trips are orginized by Cozy staff!Guest review byKariFinland
- From US$625.11 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 174 reviewsThis was the holiday of a lifetime. A fantastic experience for all of us (2x 60+ somethings and 2x 20+ somethings). Carla and her entire team without exception were attentive, friendly, and each very interesting in their own individual way. From first impressions (the porter carrying a 25Kg suitcase from the landing boat up the beach to the hotel - on his head!!), through the welcome drink and Carla's very helpful introduction to island life, the food, and happy hour cocktails every day that you can set your watch by ready for the evenings activities along the beach (fire show, lots of excellent food, beach bars), will remain in our memories for a very long time - well at least until we return again!! The beach was a great blend of very clean, and lively enough to be interesting without overcrowding (the two weeks before Europe schools break for summer). So much to do too! We were here 8 nights and were busy right through, snorkelling with turtles, baby shaks (sic), little Nemo's and a whole host of other tropical fish. We were lucky enough to see, on two separate days, turtles come up the beach in front of the hotel to lay 100+ eggs (taken to a local sanctuary for hatching and release), and watch the mothers (Shirley Turts and Lily Shelby) make their way back to the water after dark. Amazing wildlife. A short day trip to Redang island was very worthwhile too - beautiful beaches. The boat boys (GreenBoys next to the hotel) were super helpful and friendly for all our excursions out to sea. We made a great number of ongoing social media friends on this trip. We used the spa on several occasions - June's massages were terrific after a long day in the sun and sea.Guest review byBrianUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 6.2Pleasant - What previous guests thought, 91 reviewsThis place is a gem for this price. Well okay rooms are bit dated but they are super clean, aircon is good and garden around huts is nice. I noticed some people complain its far away from beach and difficult to reach. Truth is that path from main beach is actually 120 m long and max 8% elevation... I guess its too much for someone. overall a great experienceGuest review byTuomoFinland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.0Good - What previous guests thought, 401 reviewsA fantastic location on a beautiful island with staff and owners incredibly friendly and helpful. My two sons completed their Open Water PADI course at the dive centre - they loved it!! The instructor was very patient and supportive. My wife and myself first visited Flora Bay in 1999 - it is still as magical, 24 years on!!Guest review byGlewUnited Kingdom

The rooms were nice, clean and spacious and had a vent so it doesn't get stuffy. The two people at the reception were really nice and took care of us and ensured we are safe and sorted out in all aspects. Great stay! Great experience!Guest review bySiraajMalaysia

It's on long Beach so it's close to cheap bars and restaurants but out of the "High Season" it isn't that noisy. The restaurant is expensive but really yummy, and the breakfast as well. i went as a solo female backpacker, i love a good party, i love the beach and i love good food! and i had all!! its actually just paradise on earth. theres only 2 bars so youll meet everyone, there is also a little walk you can do to get to the otherside to have dinner and watch the sunset which is really fun. the restraunts have really yummy and reasonably priced food. I reccomend getting cash out before you go and stocking up on sunscreen, cigarettes, aloe vera and water before you go because the little shops there are expensive due to the importation efforts. you absolutely MUST do day tours as well, the sights are unmatched and super cheap, there is tour vendors all over the beach you wont have a hard time organsiing anything. also youll most likely find the love of your life there but dont hold me to that. if you want to go diving or get your diving license this is also the place as packages are super cheap and often include accomodation and food.Guest review byAvaAustralia - 10.0

Some great beaches with crystal clear waters. . i would recommend staying at long beach or coral beach on the smaller island. Rather than the fisherman's village. Boat trip to Redang - all day but worth the 150 MYRGuest review byalchemyiamUnited States - 10.0
The nature and the sea life was wonderful.
The nature and the sea life was wonderful. The bad thing is you always have to hire a taxi boat or you have to take a tour to travel in the islands. You always have to bargain and never believe what was written on the boards. Swimming with the sharks and sea turtles were wonderful. Snorkeling tour is a must see in the island. Coral life is very exciting.Guest review byAnonymousTurkey
