"Perfect location near the surf spots with a great vibe throughout the hostel. The staff and guests were all lovely, and the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming.     Finally a hotel in Nicaragua that was quiet and relaxing. no noise of music. You can really decompress. The beach was just meters away from my small cottage. You can hear the waves while falling asleep. Other guests behaved civil and there was no heavy drinking or partying. Totally recommended to travelers that are for a relaxing experience where your privacy and tranquility are your main goals.

    There's something magical about this little beach community.

    There's something magical about this little beach community. The vibe and energy are great- restaurants and bars with excellent food & drink everywhere. Locals and tourists are friendly and helpful. We know a tiny bit of Espanol but were able to communicate with no issues, and English is spoken more prevalently than I had expected. Can't wait to visit again!!

    Was a nice quiet island to relax and clime a vulkanisch Mountain when you like. We did a motorcycle tour. Renting one or a scooter is very affordable and the scenery is very nice. Very great food at the lakefront at Julia’s, almost opposite of ecolodge chiponge The Italian restaurant in the village on the walking street, without traffic, was great too , especially the pizza

    Not the most exciting town. Very busy with trade. We have encountered very rude taxi drivers trying to charge us triple of normal fees (we knew taxi prices beforehand). Everyone we spoke to warned us not to walk around in the dark.

    The Popoyo/Guasacate area is one of my favorites.

    The Popoyo/Guasacate area is one of my favorites. I love the beach and the laid-back vibe of the people. There are several great spots to enjoy the sunset, and plenty of places to eat and relax—like Casitas Pacific for dinner, Kook’s Café for coffee, and Viento Este for pizza. There are also beautiful hotels and cabins around. It’s a casual, relaxed destination perfect for couples, families, or friends.

    A lovely little town on Ometepe Island.

    A lovely little town on Ometepe Island. The locals were so nice and kind. I enjoyed riding around and just taking in all of the beautiful nature. Playa Mangoes was also a short drive from my hostel. I look forward to returning one day.

    Call finca mystica (FM) prior to arrival and have them set up transportation for you. Taxi to and from the ferry terminal then rent scooters or 4 wheelers or horses from FM. We rented 4 wheelers from the ferry terminal and had a long hot journey to and from FM.

    The town was nice, the only thing that could be better is the access since part of the road is still not paved yet, but it was in really good condition, I went in a Hyundai Grand i10 2015 Hatchback, and I was able to go to the Ometepe Biological Field Station, El Pital, Ojo de Agua, We also did the Istiam River Kayaking, it was awesome!!!

    It is a busy town, with lots of surfers and retired folks living or visiting. Lots of motorbikes for getting around. Some excellent restaurants along the beach front including Henry's Iguana Bar, and Maggies' Restaurant up the street. Good fish tacos at little kiosk. Great beach walks, lovely sunsets and a few hikes to do. One to the Jesus protecting the bay and the other to the lighthouse on the opposite side of bay. Wear good shoes for those.

    We arrived at the end of the busy season (April 1st) which was nice, but it was hot, water had dried up, and many of the "tours" were not worth the time or money. The people were great! The food was awesome! And we loved exploring the island on our scooter. Definitely recommend Cafe Campestre! The pasta was OUTSTANDING and the people were fantastic. We didn't get a good-vibe from Chocolate Paradise - walked in - many people - nobody acknowledged our existence - so we left

    My stay here was to accompany my daughter to the hospital to have her baby. Overall that experience was not good. What I saw of the town I liked, many places to buy fresh food and little shops. The taxi driver that brought me to the hospital and back was amazing! Locals that I talked to were kind
