- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 409 reviewsMolecaten Park Wijde Blick had something for the whole family: a fun playground with a trampoline plus a pool with a waterslide for children and nice outdoor spaces for grilling, relaxing or simply hanging out. The picturesque town of Renesse along the North Sea coast with its nice shops and restaurants is also a quick car or bike ride away. The above mentioned facilities as well as the housing was well kept. We also felt safe at all times. It is also a major plus there was a supermarket on the premises within walking distance from our cottage!Guest review byReynoldsGermany

We visited outside the season and enjoyed that there wasn't any overcrowding. It was easy to walk into any of the bars, restaurants or cafes and get an available table. We were lucky with the weather and fully enjoyed the beach and the promenade and a quick trip by tram into Den Haag. The tram ride took all of 10 - 15 minutes, buying a ticket was straight forward and easy. Breakfast at Oceans Beach is a strong recommendation, they even catered for special dietry requests and couldn't have been more welcoming. Dinners at Sumo and Big Bell were very pleasant and tasty.Guest review byBeritNetherlands - 10
A lovely town on the Dutch coast.
A lovely town on the Dutch coast. Great for the beach, the dunes and access to Haarlem, Amsterdam and beyond, with regular buses and trains to both Lots of lovely places to eat (and what I believe to be the best chips in the world, at Fritures D’anvers) Wonderful ice cream at San Remo Cafe Mio Great for tapas Can’t comment much on the beach bars as we’ve not really used them A nice little selection of shops, you can get pretty much everything you need for your stay, right on the doorstep. 3 supermarkets all within a few mins’ walk of each other, plus lots of lovely smaller shops for groceries tooGuest review byLornaUnited Kingdom - 10

I used to live 20 minute cycle ride from here so have been there many times. Very nice town, the promenade is a lovely walk or bike ride. Would encourage people to hire bikes and explore. There is a fantastic bike ride through the dunes very scenic. The beach is very big with restaurants dotted all along. A really nice place to visit.Guest review byGRSUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Village of Renesse has not much to offer : a couple of little supermarkets, sport shops and mostly fast food restaurants. Only reason to go there, is the impressive beach, with great views on seals colonies on bright days, and lovely walks sheltered by the dunes on not so bright and windy daysGuest review byMichelFrance - 8.0

Many opportunities for eating out and close to the beach and nature. Relatively far from the other cities but not as far as De Cocksdorp: Den Burg or De Waal would be a better option if you want to be in a more central area, but everything is relatively close so it does not matter too much.Guest review byAnonymous - 10

Egmond aan Zee is a charming little beach town in the Netherlands with all the shops and Restaurants you could wish for. As a family of four we liked to walk to the Dekamarkt for our daily breakfast and snacks at the beach. At night we would eat at restaurants, at the typically Dutch snackbar 'Bij Brigitte' or eat Kibbeling(fish) at the Coast. We rented bikes for the day to travel further out. The remains of a castle in Egmond aan de Hoef was very interesting for our preteens and the next coastal town over 'Bergen aan Zee' was lovely as well. We visted the Aquarium there which was facinating for the entire family. Venturing out by foot into the Duinen is recommended as well. We saw wild Horses, oxes and a gorgeous sunset. In the Smidstraat there was a little secondhand Shop full of antiques. So much so that it seemed more a Museum than a shop! Everybody seemed to be able to speak a little German and if not their amazing english skills were impressive! I hope you have a wonderful time in Egmond aan Zee.Guest review byEveAustria - 10
This is a wonderful place for a peaceful escape.
This is a wonderful place for a peaceful escape. It is in the middle of forest and pastures so it is very quiet. There are excellent walking trails nearby. The house is very clean and tastefully decorated with enough space to be very comfortable. Even in the cold of winter it was well heated. The kitchen is very well equipped with good quality items. The quirky coffee-maker is fascinating and makes excellent coffee. There is a very good collection of maps and guide books for the local area. Hanneke's welcome was fulsome and very friendly and informative. Checkout was efficient and friendly. There are several very good restaurants a short drive away, try Puur.Guest review byGlenUnited States - 10

Perfect for families with children, dog owners and people with mobility problems. Not so perfect if you're a nightlife person. :) Tiny quiet village, 15th century church, (souvenir) shops, plenty of cafs and eateries, very wide beaches. Sun, beach, sea, really, what more does a person need.Guest review byMaaikeJJNetherlands
