Richar and his family definitely bring peace into their space. He walked with us to the significant pachamama and pachatata and explained the culture behind. His wife cooked amazing food, love especially their soup and trout!! His daughter taught us to make simple bracelets that was really fun and beautiful to have something handmade to bring home. The room is very quiet, clean and comfortable. I slept very well 2 nights. Always hot water for tea and coffee. Hot shower is hot! View is spectacular. I do recommend staying at least 2 nights to feel the tranquility and peace on the island.

José Luis, Pilar and their son were so welcoming and helpful, from organizing transportation to meeting me at the dock. The food was delicious, the space clean and comfortable, with a balcony overlooking the lake. They upgraded my room because I had just sprained my ankle before coming, and helped me with natural remedies to heal. Everything was wonderful and I could have stayed much more than 2 nights! The island is beautiful, do the walk around the whole island for gorgeous views and seeing local life in action. Thank you José Luis, Pilar and Luis!

Wow! What a charming stay! Henry and Mariluz were such accommodating and generous hosts. Henry carried our bags all the way from the ferry landing. Mariluz made such delicious home-cooked meals! The lodge had charming landscaping and stone work, and the hot shower was something we appreciated on the rustic island. What a delight, after a day of exploring, to sit on the lounge chairs outside, read a novel, sip on a glass of wine, and look out at the magnificent view. Plus it was fun to look at Mariluz's beautiful crochet work! Amantani Lodge gets a ten out of ten!

Very nice hosts. The owner took us on the hike to Pachamama and Pacatata Sanctuaries located in the island. The night was getting chilly so the lady of the house provided us with bottles of hot water to warm up the beds. There are very nice views of the lake from the house. All food was cooked fresh.

Isla (island) Amantaní and Taquile are both very remote, about a three hour boat ride from Puno, But I would highly recommend going for a very unique and traditional experience with a Peruvian family. When you book a tour, they usually take you to both islands, but an overnight with a family on Amantaní. I would recommend two nights because it is far and then you have time to fully relax and enjoy the community!! It was also fun to stay in the home with other travelers, four other people from three different countries in Europe! We hiked to the top of the island for sunset where there is a beautiful memorial/ worship site for Pachamama (Mother Earth). Also, the food prepared in our home was very delicious.😊

This is the most peaceful place on earth.

This is the most peaceful place on earth. The island offers the most sacred experiences. We spent two nights there, eat completely organic food from the garden, our host was amazing. If you want an authentic Lake Titicaca experience, this is it. Their 11 year old son took us to the fountain of youth, the Pachamama and Pachatata temples on top of the mountain. We had a wonderful experience with a local Shaman. This place is well cared for, host and family are the most loving people, sharing their lifestyl with their guest. There are no cars on the island, you walk everywhere. The boat ride to their place was breath taking as it is on the south side of the island, very private and quite.
