Aljezur is a great location to visit if you like nature, surfing, good food, a slower pace of life. I would recommend staying in Aljezur, getting a car to drive around to different beaches and villages where you can find good restaurants. Amazing place lots of restaurants and bars but it is all spaced out if you have good legs this is no problem. Of course you can hire a car and drive out at night but if you want to drink you need to walk as we didn't see 1 taxi on our 9 night stay. Find accommodation near to Mareta beach as that's about central. Very young area lots of fit surfing people day and night which is great. There are 3 beaches within walking distance Tonel is the one for surfing if you can do!! Mareta beach is the nicest of the 3. There are many more you can drive to. The fort is interesting. We have been coming to Alvor since 2016 and stayed over 10 times; sometimes twice a year July and September. Obviously the fantastic beach and great swimming in Atlantic ocean is the main attraction, with great weather. Then it is the fantastic restaurants. Just about any place that grills fish and meat is very good and not expensive and offer fantastic value for money. The Indian restaurants are also excellent. A quiet and pretty small village that remains authentic. A great place for a short visit if you like to avoid the crowds or to look for accomodation if you plan to explore the gorgeous 'vicentina' coast, with car access to many great beaches. Most of these beaches are likely to be too 'wild' for most people, with difficult access, but they are perfect for the more adventurers and, again, for those who prefer to avoid the crowds. Plus, there are a few places in the village centre where you can enjoy a really tasteful light meal, of which I'd definitely reccommend the restaurants 'Ao Largo' and 'Casa Verde'.Guest review byTiagoPortugal - 10.0

A peaceful town with a relaxed atmosphere, yet still lively with shops and a beautiful coastline. There are plenty of nice restaurants and opportunities to enjoy nature. We chose Luz because it looked like it had a lovely holiday vibe. A nice soft sandy beach and lots of eateries to provide all different types of cuisine.
