- From US$167.95 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 824 reviewsAldeia da Cuada is a true gem – the owners have transformed an abandoned village into a unique hotel nestled in the most breathtaking part of Flores. You really feel like you're at the end of the world here, but at one of the most beautiful ends. The location couldn’t be better: surrounded by the most stunning waterfalls and the rugged charm of the ocean, this place offers an almost magical setting. The cuisine is excellent, delighting with regional delicacies. Hiking enthusiasts will find paradise here, with beautiful trails leading straight from the hotel into the incomparable nature. For me, it's a 10/10 – an unforgettable stay.Guest review byPascal DominikGermany
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 83 reviewsGreat house, definitely as described. Very friendly and communicative host. In my opinion a bit undersold. There is a tiny sliver of ocean viewable from the house to go with the forest, which most hosts would describe as "ocean view" but this has honestly been described as forest view. A lot of do's and don'ts but I like that. Very structured host that tried to accommodate our needs. There was one cat "problem" (tried to get into the house constantly, not a problem for us but maybe for others) that was solved during our stay. Cat now has a new home in another part of the island. 10/10 would stay here again!Guest review byKonowSweden
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 282 reviewsIt is located in the nicest part of Flores. The owners are super friendly. The room is extremely clean, the bed is very comfortable with 2 sets of pillows. The kitchen is fully equipped. What was really special gesture that there were snacks prepared for us, the next day was a holiday so it was perfect to have some breakfast. They even did our laundry while we were there. Walking distance to restaurants and directly on some of the hiking trails.Guest review byPetraAustria
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 8 reviewsProbably the best location on Flores. Trails are easily accessible and close to main viewpoints. Views of ocean and waterfalls cant be beat. The house (mill) is very spacious and perfect for a stay where you can feel a little lost in time :-) Hosts were very accommodating with my flight delays which required adjusting booking dates!Guest review byJeffCanada

A magical village with kind helpful people.
A magical village with kind helpful people. The village is like something out of a fairytale, perfect scenery, with beautiful well kept livestock, has such a nostalgic feel. The food was incredibly fresh and tasty, we also stayed in Sao Miguel (5 star hotel) but the food here was of a way better standard! Be carful when driving at night, ensure you have an offline map as signal is weak down some winding country lanes- we got quite lost and roads are very steep.Guest review byNailaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

From the waterfalls in the west, to the lovely walkable city of Santa Cruz in the east, Flores is a delight. Get your hiking boots ready as there are many beautiful trails to check out on this island, but plan on a few days as the weather can be unpredictable and it would be a pity not to see Flores in full sunshine.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

The village is small and on Sundays there’s only two restaurants open (low season). Weather is unpredictable and not so warm (18°C). Our host Ricardo recommends coming here in September when it’s still warm and the sea is about 25°C. We saw a lot of trekkers everywhere. On Flores you definitely would need a car. Close to the village iate a couple of stunning waterfalls.Guest review byanna wennerbergPortugal - 8.0

I liked that it was near the famous sites and in a quiet area. It is an old house so I found it very cold and it also had a musky smell. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of blankets to stay warm. The shower was plenty hot and there were long soft towels to dry off. I had problems with the lock box not working easily. I was disappointed that there were no stores or a bakery as it’s a very small village. Buy what you need in Santa Cruz. The island is gorgeous and this side has so many waterfalls to enjoy.Guest review byNancyUnited States - 10.0
Absolutely stunning island.
Absolutely stunning island. The natural beauty left me in awe many times. I hope this natural landscape is protected. The whale museum was very educational and worth the visit. Although I think they should charge more than one Euro for entrance. It was easy to get around with our small rental car.Guest review byCocogirl99Canada - 10.0
It is really a paradise.
It is really a paradise. On one hand I want to share my joy from getting to see it, on the other it needs to stay pure and forgotten by the masses. When flying there, our plane had to turn back because of a technical issue, as if I was asked if I really mean it. If you love and respect nature, go for it!Guest review byAndrejUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Island is just amazing, lots of scenic views and full of waterfalls. People in Flores are the kindest I've met in my travels and food's quality is what you would expect from a typical Portuguese village.Guest review byTP9Portugal - 10.0
Very cool, old town.
Very cool, old town. Feels like you've stepped back in time a couple centuries. A couple local restaurants that have awesome food, with less than awesome service, when they happen to be open. Don't trust online hours, they're often incorrect. Reservations are a must as everything in town books up quickly and has incredibly limited availability. Come for the breath taking beauty, not anything else. From our experience, definitely the best place to stay on Flores island for access to the highlights of the island.Guest review byDevonCanada - 10.0

I believe Flores is the most beautiful island among the Azores. Santa Cruz is the location of the airport, small town but charming and clean. People usually visit Flores for the nature, but Santa Cruz is a good place to stay.Guest review byAndrásHungary
