It was my first time in Baile Herculane, and I was looking for a quiet, restful place. Hotel Domogled did not disappoint. A lot of the clientele is there to take advantage of the various balneotherapy procedures performed in the onsite clinic. There's also a swimming pool open to all the hotel guests. I had a double room with a balcony on the 4th floor with a gorgeous view of the park in front, flanked by mountains. The room was newly furnished, luminous, quiet, and very clean. The bathroom was in good working order, clean, and big enough not to feel crammed. There is a buffet restaurant on the premises where breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served. The menu is well selected (mostly Romanian dishes), there is plenty of variety (at least three choices of soups, meats, and side dishes), and the quality of the food is consistently good. My room included breakfast, but after trying their lunch menu once, I had most of my lunches in there, paying separately. Try it once. You might be coming back. The atmosphere is quiet; no loud music, no loud guests, no parties at midnight. Our room was spacious and clean, and we had everything we needed - including a balcony with a beautiful view of the mountains around Herculane. The hotel has two restaurants which are beautiful, but we only had breakfast there so we cannot judge the dinner or lunch menue. Breakfast was plentiful and offered a varied selection. The buffet was always filled up quickly, the staff always cleared the tables quickly and efficiently. Everyone was very friendly. Both pools (inside and outside pools with thermal water) are very nice. The hotel also has a spa area. We loved the sun terraces and the spa and pool area after a long day of hiking and walking. It was clean, quite and in nature. The animal farm was also very nice for us For us as a family with a 2 years old was perfect, because she was had things to do and we had not stress. Food avalaible, not so hot, it was a very relaxing vacation. We also visited around lake Surduc and we did a first small hicking to the waterfall Sopot. Szeged is a great place.
Szeged is a great place. Lovely old buildings, the river, the bars and restaurants are great and generally its cultural activities are also very good. The location as such was chosen by us precisely for those reasons. Our mishaps at the hotel were not the town's fault. We ate dinner at the John Bull, which has fantastic food and excellent beers and wines. The service was great there and it was at walking distance from our hotel. Local transport is great. The view of the mountains is beautiful and the history associated with this place. The Apollo bath museum, the statue of Hercules and the Casino are nice places to visit. There is a lot of history starting with the fortress on top of the hill above the town from the era of fighting Turks. The town is nice and very clean and it has enough to offer, even in winter. The not-so-good aspect is that it is rather quiet in the evening, so it is not recommended for people who seek entertainment throughout the night. Great restaurants and very close to Belgrade. Taxi service is excellent and inexpensive. For best "cevapi" go to BIG and Restaurant Walter, for roast piglet(PECENJE) or roast lamb I recommend Restaurant Beli Narcis or Kod Velje. Both are excellent. Stayed in Timisoara twice. It's a very beautiful city. It's got such a nightlife vibe, 11 PM and the main square is full of people having fun. On my 2nd stay here there was a festival and there was a concert in the Liberty Square, with tons of people, beer, fast food places etc. Architecturally also, the city is very nice.
