Our ice hotel host, Mario, was exceptional. He welcomed us and took the time to understand us, in order to provide guidance on mountain activities aligned to our unique interests. It is important you follow overnight sleeping instructions to stay warm all night. The food and service at the nearby chalet was very good with large portion sizes and only a short walking distance from the ice hotel. Additionally, the regular hotel rooms in the chalets have spacious common areas and are very clean, providing an opportunity to take advantage of the uniqueness of the ice hotel, while also enjoying the comforts of warm dining for extended stays. We recommend a two night stay to enjoy the scenery, including the walk through the road tunnel to the other side of the mountian. You can start with an ice hotel stay and move to a warmer chalet room the next night. As well, you can call and also book a warm chalet room, for the same night as the ice hotel, if you want to wake up and walk to a warm shower or sleep in past 8am.

Lovely tiny houses, on the way to the most famous Romanian mountain road. The cottages have everything you need, clean and comfortable. Around a large area where it is easy to park a car, as well as make a barbecue. If I go on this route again, I will definitely spend the night here.

This is very good hotel with nice 4 stars! The room was very clean, complicated, view was that kind that no posible to go out from the balcony, you stay and look on the lake! Sauna was one of the best that I tested in Romania! The team of the hotel is very friedly and solved all our recomendations.Special thanks to Bogdan! We played bouling and cayak on the lake! To make conclusion we can say that here you can relax, you can feel like at home and of course we will come back here! Mulțumim echipei hotelului pentru o astfel de vacanță!

We liked everything about this hotel! Starting from the location at a beautiful lake and the views, to the food and activities available (spa zone, lake boat trip, ATV tour to the forest). We especially want to thank the staff and the reception host that helped us book all the activities and was very attentive to all the requests. This is the best service level we have seen in Romania so far. I highly recommend the hotel and plan to come back again.

my main interest was in the Sf Nicolae Church of the Valachian princes, dating from 14th c, one of the oldest in our country and with great old frescoes inside and the ruins of a valachian princes court (Curtea Domneasca) nearby. there is still to visit "Manastirea Argesului", the church housing the remains of the romanian kings, but as it was completely rebuilt in the 19th century my interest for it's architecture is lower. Curtea de Arges is a small town very easy to get around. most restaurants are on the main street and I could find some take-away even in late evening. the town is a good starting point to cross the mountains on Transfagarasean, a high altitude and spectacular street over the Carpathians but also for a journey in the hill land below the mountains in the counties of Arges and Dambovita.

I would like to correct my review of pinsinea Pastavul: I made a mistake in my previous rating "1" of Pastaravul because the correct rating should be "3" as it has many positive features. Booking please correct my previous review as I don't want to hurt their business. Thank you, Tony

The host was so kind we would stay again just because of his kindness. Google maps took us to the wrong place so use apple maps to get there. The host sent pictures to help us find where to park. It is on the main road. Very easy once you know where to go.

The location was perfect, the house amazing with all the commodities, everything amazing. Very nice the background, clean, the breakfast just perfect and also the staff, nice and gently. The only small problem, the internet connection doesn’t work well in the room, although they have different free wifi and you have to change them every time in order to catch the good connection, but definitely it was an amazing experience, everything as you see in the pictures, maybe even better.

From a nature perspective, absolutely stunning. This area contains the southern part of the Transfagarasan mountain pass and there is a lot to see and do here. The scenery is spectacular - it also takes a long time to drive, so make sure that you have enough time. Try and avoid night time driving for animals (bears and dogs), but also for the fact that the road is extremely winding and tiring to drive. You will certainly see bears - the southern part of the road (Highway #7C) is a bear conservation area along Lake Vidraru.

Very nice town, nice people. We managed to visit the monastery and in the evening there was a national event so it was very nice. I think that within the limits of our time we covered the main thing. I think it was possible to have more fun in the town.
