A magic experience in Gothenburg! Dorsia Hotel & Restaurant – theatrical glamour where you are treated like royalty! Dorsia may be an exclusive boutique hotel, but it feels more like a palace as you could see on my attached photos. The storybook-style is really impressive! Each room is different. Our cool room (no 303) was very well appointed and spacious, equipped with everything you could want and plenty of towels. Scrupulously clean and perhaps the most comfortable bed for any hotel I have visited! The buffet breakfast was outstanding. Having visited some of the Worlds' finest hotels, I can confidently say that Dorsia ranks among the greatest. Dorsia is member of “Small luxury hotels of the world” for a reason. A huge congratulation to the whole team at Dorsia and keep up the hard work I know it is to keep a high service level like this! Are you looking for a magic experience in Gothenburg – Dorsia is the one you are looking for. It is not cheap, but you get good value for money! Highly recommended! We stayed in one of the small houses/studio by the sea with own jacuzzi. It was magnificent!! We loved our own sauna space that during summer is turned into a relaxing room with an outstanding sea view! Everything was amazing but that which touched us the most was the professionalism of the staff and of the people in charge. Specific needs/situations were met and resolved with the highest professionalism as I had yet not met before ( and I do travel a lot both in Sweden and abroad). Thank you so much to all staff and to this amazing place that made my daughter’s 21th birthday an unforgettable one ♥️ And as a touch of pure grace, we had the amazing experience to see and touch the bioluminescence of “ Mareld” that were present by the shore so close to our studio! Better we could not ask for! Will definitely come back…and not only once!

The accommodation was something different The location is walking distance to the city. The bus stop is opposite the floating hotel, but it only runs Monday to Friday. That was not a problem as I could walk back. The breakfast was basic, but good The staff were very helpful, friendly and kind.

The hotel was so much better than we were expecting. The room was much bigger than I was expecting with a good sized bathroom as well. The thermostat was in the room so we could control the temperature ourselves. The room itself was very comfortable and clean. There was a great bar and food bar on the ground floor and the atmosphere was great every night we were there. I highly recommend the gingerbread white Russian cocktail. The breakfast was great with lots of options for people with dietary restrictions especially the gluten free station and the fridge full of milk alternatives. We were also able to leave our bags when we checked out the day we were leaving which was ideal for us. The location was excellent we walked to each Christmas market we visited and the central station is only a few minutes walk and has a direct flixbus to the airport.

    It is easy to get around in Gothenburg: trams, buses, and on foot. There are many parks, restaurants, shops, and cultural places. Did not have a problem with the language, but did need to use a translation app every now and then.

    I can’t thank the staff enough.

    I can’t thank the staff enough. It was by far the best place we have ever stayed. Everyone was amazing and incredibly helpful. We received the room we had requested on the quieter side of the hotel, although the entire property turned out to be surprisingly peaceful given its location opposite a busy airport, just a three- to four-minute walk away. The view from our room exceeded all expectations, as did the hotel overall. Looking out onto the forest with its tall pine trees created a calm and tranquil atmosphere, beautifully contrasted with the sight of planes lifting into the sky. The room itself felt so homely and impeccably clean that I kept expecting to notice something that might disturb the sense of calm, perhaps a flea bite or some small nuisance that often comes with being so close to a forest. But no, nothing of the sort. Not a single bite. We slept through the night comfortably, free from any disturbances or insects, in a wonderfully cosy bed. The peaceful atmosphere extended to the restaurant, where the carefully chosen lighting and design added to both the architectural and psychological sense of ease. Breakfast deserves special mention. It had everything one could want, whether vegetarian, pescatarian or carnivorous, and everyone would easily find their preferred options. My child went back several times until he was satisfied, and I especially loved the salmon.  For coffee lovers, there is a very good selection available at breakfast. However, if you prefer to have coffee in your room, I would suggest bringing some with you, as the in-room supply is limited. At least cups and a kettle are provided. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, which became a cherished part of our holiday experience. Next time we are in Sweden, which we certainly will be since we have relatives there, we will be sure to stay with you again on our way home.

    I recommend borrowing a canoe or pedal boat from Borås...

    I recommend borrowing a canoe or pedal boat from Borås Camping site and going all the way along the river to the lake, where you can take a swim before going back. The route is beginner-friendly and very beautiful.

    The following made our stay very uncomfortable

    The following made our stay very uncomfortable 1- Even after the reminder of the late check out, the manager came to the door, took me out and ask me to leave. Her name was Tuva and very unpolite. She did say that I will call the security you don't leave. When I said I will also call the police than she mellow down and agreed our check out at 2:30pm. Never i have faced this situation in Europe or any where elese 2- The beds are uncomfortable. The matters slips out of the bed. 3- The AC wasn't working 4- The temperature of the room was very uncomfortable 5- No phones in the room to communicate with the hotel staff

    We did a whistle-stop tour of Trollhattan in the evenings of the 3 days we were working and on the morning of the day we travelled back. In that time we fell under the spell of the place. If you like industrial heritage and water combined with nature and clean fresh air, this is the place for you. Travelling in late may we found the temperature to be about 2 degrees C under our Lancashire temperatures for the same period. The place is spotlessly clean. We enjoyed the bridges, of which there are many, the Saab museum and the forests on the mountains were amazing, with an awesome view over the valley to the massive lake that you would think could be an ocean.

    48 hours in Gothenburg Great boat trip through the canals with a very knowledgeable tour guide. Island hopping via the tram and ferry to the Archipelago as suggested by the lovely lady in the tourist information. Delicious coffee in Expresso House Amazing views from the 33rd (bathroom) and 34th (roof top bar) floors of The Clarion Hotel. Fish market and covered market well worth a visit.

    I stayed at the hotel because I had an early flight, so I preferred to be close to the airport instead of taking a 30 minutes car ride. I did not eat at the hotel restaurant, but from what I saw during breakfast it should be a good place to take lunch or dinner. I had to take breakfast before 4 AM; option available between 3:30 AM to 4:30 AM is continental breakfast. Although hotel calls it "continental", there are meany options available, including fruits (small selection), cheeese, and ham.

    Boras is a university and Textile town.

    Boras is a university and Textile town. Very Swedish and a great visit for a couple of days. There is certainly enough to take up your time. Restaurants are excellent and everyone is very friendly. If you have a rental car, be sure to check out the surrounding areas. It is a beautiful part of the world, (lakes, Forests, walks, drives), It is a lovely area.

    Only the price and the fact I had my own bathroom were good. For the rest: old facilities, dirty carpets in the corridors, old and useless furniture which made the room look very small, a bath tub form a film of the 1950s (to be generous) which leaked water everywhere. And, as a cherry on the cake, I had to pay for parking, although in the booking.com description it was simply said "parking available".

    One of my favorite cities in Sweden.

    One of my favorite cities in Sweden. The lock complex is super interesting and there is so much to wander around. The complex is huge! Also it is really nice to have the nature directly next to the river and thus have the historical heritage and the nature close to each other.
